- The MacMaster is in London and is taking a trip to The Blind Beggar, the Victorian East End pub infamous as the site where 1960s gangster Ronnie Kray shot and killed a rival Gangster.
On 9 March 1966, Cornell and his friend Albie Woods entered the Blind Beggar pub, ordered some light ales and then sat upon stools next to the bar. At around 8:30pm, both men were approached by Ronnie Kray and a Kray associate, Ian Barrie; upon seeing him, Cornell smiled and said sardonically, "Well, just look who's here". As a warning to the barmaid and the few others in the pub, Barrie fired two shots into the ceiling, while Kray walked towards Cornell, took out a 9 mm Luger, and calmly shot him once in the forehead, just above his right eye. The men turned and departed to a waiting car on the street. Kray was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder three years later and remained in Broadmoor Hospital until his death in 1995.

Ronnie and Reggie and buried in the same grave in my local cemetery together with the rest of the family. Graves are always well looked after.

Love all the London vlogs Lee, I've subscribed to Darren as his vlogs are great as well, such a nice and humble guy. By the way, cash only is tax avoidance to a degree, but in those little cafes and takeaways cashflow is crucial to pay casual staff and buy stock.

The pub and surrounding areas weren't as built up before, I would have thought.

Cash only. Saves on bank charges. If they don't have a lot of business one day, it probably costs too much to process card payments. Especially as everywhere has been closed for so long. And they probably need the money now.

You were going the wrong way. You should have walked up Cambridge Heath Road to Whitechapel. You were in Cambridge Heath Road when you were at the station. I was born in Bethnal Green and grew up there so I know about these things. 😊 I’ve never been in the pub though. I used to live in the flats behind the cafe where you had the breakfast.

Ive watched all the krays documentary and films
The Beggar is just a tourist pub now like the Dickens Inn at St Katherine Dock
The apartment block where the Krays both lived when reg was seeing Frances and the pic with them both stood suited up still stands today
Much later they use to live at 22 Vallance Road a terraced house now pulled down with mum and dad, dad didnt like the boys thats why you only hear about mum.One of the best café`s, family run is Pellicci.
Been in that boozer geezer, with a few work colleagues we had a tour of London with the legend Mad Frankie Fraser he was a real pleasant fella god rest him.

Looks like the sat nav took you about a bit , just up the road was 22 Vallance Road Bethnal Green, the home of the Krays living with mum, they loved their mum. Its been pulled down. After the Police took out a bullet that was lodged inside the pub it left a hole . After the Krays were convicted , the hole was left and refurbished for the tourists year after year. One of the best café`s, family run is Pellicci`s Bethnal Green Road. That is where the Krays went to feed themselves up for a hard days work as criminals. A right couple of Ice creams.
They lived at 178 Vallance Road.

Your on my manor so behave yourself 🤣. All you had to do was walk straight down Cambridge Heath road thats the road you was on outside the station fot the beggar. You sure Darren is from London? 🤣 if you turn right from the blind beggar pub towards the city and walked down you would of come to Valance road and thats where the twins lived. Also if you walked past your breakfast place you would of found Pellicci cafe. Used by the twins and also in the film.
