To this day I get like …. Made fun of.. as a grown ass woman for being celiac. I’ve been told it’s fake, it’s a hoax, “a little won’t hurt right?” Etc…. It’s rediculous. Honestly, fine, I’ll eat this cross contaminated French fry and then I’ll let you watch me writhe in pain for 8 hours and then be sore and tired for 3 days.
yo wait wait wait as a celiac I LOVE those diet fad people/crazy followers because we have SO MANY OPTIONS as a result. Like please everyone go gluten free.
My mom has celiac, and I can tell you most of the time it's not the taste they have a problem with, it's the fact that everything is 3x the price or more
they use rice to make pasta ,I have celiac and the food I was eating had almost 100 ingredients and only 4 were food the rest were chemicals read the back of your food at the ingredients ,the rice pasta I eat now has only 3 ingredients rice flour, olive oil, water.
There's nothing wrong with it, if you think about it this could be actually taken seriously by people who are allergic to gluten. You are comparing them to people like Shane who makes "galaxy" cakes by taking a cake and spraying food color all over it.
My brother and grandpa have celiac, so I appreciate the increased amount of gluten-free foods. When my grandpa first found out he had celiac, his food options were extremely slim and tended to be rather poor in quality. Since then, I've seen the quality and quantity of gluten-free foods greatly increase. It's a great thing to see. Now, if only school lunches would get on board.
It’s hard being gluten sensitive. Your diet is limited, even more when you have other food allergies. But dear God accidentally consuming gluten on a gluten free diet is nothing short of terror. 😩😩😩
I have a dairy sensitivity and I'll eat it from time to time but never do I DARE cheat on my GF diet. I have Celiac and it has landed me in the hospital before 😬
Sarah Vassel sammme I developed lactose intolerance after my celiacs diagnosis at the beginning of the year and sometimes a lil bit of ice cream is needed but I will never ever ever knowingly cheat on my GF diet. Also hope you’re all right and why you was in the hospital wasn’t anything major
Unless you're allergic to gluten or legitimately prefer the taste, don't bother going gluten free. there's absolutely no benefit to anyone who isn't intolerant.
There is benefit from people who eat the diet and don't need to. They raise the demand for more gluten free products, and better tasting gluten free products. This means that people who do have gluten intolerance can have more options, and eat nicer foods in their diet.
Eating more veggies instead of grain can help you lose some weight though, but yea, gluten free waffles probably aren't so different from real waffles.
My mom and sister are both Celiac, and therefore when I was in high school most meals were gluten-free. Many people claim that "gluten-free" is a diet that makes you lose weight, fat, whatever... this is not entirely true. Much like veganism, many people lose weight initially because they eat less since many foods that they want to eat no longer fit the criteria. Let's say, however, that this is not the case. If you replace gluten food with gluten-free substitutes, will you be healthier? Probably not. Many foods that are gluten-free are often dairy-free, soy-free, organic, etc. so that it may be used as a "catch-all" for people trying to be healthier. So in the sense of eating more organic, yes you will be better. When looking at the macros, however, many foods are actually MORE unhealthy. Gluten-free cookies, for example, often have more fat and sugar to make up for the lack of taste due to no flour. If you have an intolerance or a disease, go gluten-free (duh). If you want to be "healthier," just exercise more and eat less junk food. No food is unhealthy as long as you have a balanced diet and get proper exercise. Furthermore, if you want less "gluten," don't have gluten-free pasta; just eat something like rice instead.
gluten free doesn't help you lose weight more than it will your money...and "gluten intolerance" doesnt scientifically exist and is not recognized as a real condition
Dustin Rodriguez And I totally agree with that; it's the same way with dairy. That's why many people who live in Asian countries are lactose intolerant... it is simply not a part of their daily diet, and therefore are unable to digest it as well as those of European descent.
Celiac's is a disease but intolerance is not. Something can upset your body but not be a full on disease, hence intolerance. You're body can't tolerate it very well but it isn't a major problem. I don't see how that cannot scientifically exist. I'm not allergic to lactose, so i can drink milk and eat cheese, i just get a minor upset stomach. So i would have a minor lactose intolerance.
Hachiesgal Panda I agree! It’s also really not that bad though having your family eat gluten around you, I have celiac and it really doesn’t bother me when my family eats gluten.
hey there guys this is the first time I am seeing this... but it is 2019 and I think you should do this again because gluten free has gotten better since this!! Sincerely me a Celiac person with a celiac husband! love you guys!!
I love it when they casually mention an experience/thing/person from their childhood, because it reminds me of just how long they've been friends, and I think it's beautiful. :)
I guess that the funny thing is that we went from "super special 1000 GMM episodes, rollercoaster of emotions lvl over 9000" to "hey, does gluten free food taste better than food that has gluten in it?"
Just by the way, gluten free products are only better for people with celiac. It has about three times more sugar than regular ones, and obviously more expensive.
Don't go gluten free unless you need to. Gluten free foods actually have a lot more chemicals in them and do not benefit you unless you have a gluten sensitivity or are celiac. Plus they're damn expensive.

Nah, I disagree. the benefit of people who don't need to be gluten free going gluten free outweighs the joke of hipsters and health enthusiasts the gluten free movement has been a great thing for people with celiac disease and gluten intolerance because a lot of old companies and new companies are making more and more gluten free products. it's amazing because now these people have more variety and more choices for food and has also brought the price of gluten free products down.
My friend was recently diagnosed with Celiac disease and would get REALLY sick when she ate any gluten. It's been hard adapting to gluten-free food for her, but I've found some things that actually taste good👌. This video was great! 😄👍😁
I have Crohn's disease and I tried going gluten free for 1 month and a few weeks and I don't think I've ever been sicker. I was in constant flare. So not sure if it's necessary "healthier".
I have crohn's and celiac. I haven't had this problem but everyone is different with crohns plus I've been gluten free since 1st grade. I've actually never had foods send me into a crohns flare (I was told I would) so I find that gluten free foods sent you into one very interesting. I wonder what ingredient they all shared that made that so?
I have to struggle through life with a extreme gluten AND dairy allergy. My food options are so limited. This video brought back so many memories of when I first got diagnosed with my allergies
I was diagnosed with celiac disease when I was three. There's so many things I haven't had yet. Regular chocolate chip cookies, cookie dough ice cream, smarties, kit kats, coffee crisps, BREAD, bagels, chicken wings, most hamburger and hotdog buns, crispy crunch, SO MANY CEREALS, and much more. Just imagine replacing you sweet, soft and beautiful white bread with rice and corn. Yeah, just think about that.
When I was young, I found out that I was deadly allergic to nuts. There was so much food I couldn't eat, No peanut butter I couldn't eat half the chocolates on the market, half off all baked goods, I know what you feel
What Candy Can Be I also have celiac disease and I feel you, I tried regular bread and cereal once when I was 6 and I was so sick for around 3 days, haven't really eaten gluten since. I learned my lesson
A few months ago I was actually watching these guys whilst in the midst of having contractions before my daughter came the next night, I say this is dedication 😂😂💕
On the contrary, gluten free recreations of normally glutenous foods actually contain more fats and sugars to compensate for the change. Perhaps naturally gluten free foods are healthier (fruits and veggies for example), but those foods are not exclusive to the gluten free diet
From my experience, there is a very noticable different in gluten free items, especially pastas. Because it doesn't bind the same way as normal 'gluten' pasta, it's more condensed. That tends to affect how it cooks, giving it a much stiffer texture. Or maybe that's just me.
Loren Helgeson well from my experience, I am like deathly allergic to gluten, and I respect your opinion however I disagree. To me it is great because it's the only I can have. And if you don't have allergies like this or peanuts, you don't really know what it's like to have that the only thing you eat. I am 13 and was diagnosed at 4 with Celiac. Not saying you don't know but I am sincerely asking you to not diss it. And I'm not saying you are. But it also depends on how the pasta is cooked.
It pisses me off when people groan and roll their eyes when I ask if something has gluten in it. I'm sorry my celiac is an inconvenience for YOU!!! If it's inconvenient for you imagine how it is for me! This isn't a fad diet it's a lifestyle I don't have a choice!
Blame the people making it a fad diet, they are the ones that are making those that can't have gluten look like ingrates when they legitimately can't eat it.
CaleyWarrior101 why do you need to complain about your life many other people have way worse issues so don't be mad when people roll their eyes to a question they don't know why your asking
This is a video about GLUTEN products. So she's ranting because she's tired of people who sigh, groan, or complain they have to deal with people asking for gluten free products because they legitimately have an intolerance (me) or an allergy (CaleyWarrior101). Get it? And learn to show a little sympathy. You can't know what it's like until you have been there.
Yeah, not trying to imply they said they aren't. I just think it's important to raise awareness of this little-known form of gluten allergy, so I think it's worth mentioning. People often disregard gluten as not being a "real" or serious allergy.
Mills' Skits I TOTALLY agree. I think they did it with grace. One of my other friends without celiac has really bad reactions to gluten - like weeks of sickness from accidentally eating it. It breaks my heart how easily people write off gluten allergies. I'm super passionate about food allergy justice (is that a thing?) so I have a lot of feelings on it. I'm glad they noted that celiac's is DIFFERENT from an intolerance, or people who go off of it just cause they want to. Now more people in the food industry and the world need to realize that not all gluten allergies are not a fad or something to be taken lightly!
That's so true! With a lot of people, allergy and intolerance diets are fad diets that they gradually drop, and that can take away from people realizing they're real, lifelong, and serious for others. I'm sorry to hear about your friend! S/he is fortunate to have a friend watching out for him/her!
I don't think people in general write off people who have real gluten allergies. It's the ones that are just following the trend thinking it's "better" for you.
I've been allergic to gluten several years before it was a common thing, so now I'm starting to watch more and more gluten-free options appear as I grow up. It's entertaining, to an extent. This also started some weird eating habits for me. I mean, who _wouldn't_ like spaghetti sauce on rice?
It really is hilarious that the kings of "will it", and blind taste tests, now are cutting dairy, syrup, etc. They only eat to entertain us. I thank them for the sacrifice.
As someone who cannot have gluten for legitimate medical reasons, I am really happy that gluten-free became a fad diet, if it hadn't it would still be nearly impossible to find decent gluten-free alternatives.
my mum has coeliac disease, honestly I would never suggest going gluten free unless you have to as it can actually cause you to become intolerant if you don't eat it for a long time. as far as food goes, some of it is lovely but the bread can be hit or miss, some of it falls apart terribly and tastes awful but some of it is amazing depends what you get. Pasta is so similar it's hard to tell. The kicker is what gluten is in when you don't realise/may contain traces.
frankindabankgaming that's not funny, suicide is a really big problem facing society and lot's of people are lost from it worldwide... so please consider what it is you are saying and how others in other circumstances might feel
I have a gluten allergy so I found King Arthur Flour Gluten Free brownie mix at target and it is so much better than regular brownies. My sister’s boyfriend snuck half of them from me, that’s how good they are 😂. He vehemently hates gluten free things.
The Pamela’s graham crackers are better than regular graham crackers. My friend ate half my box and when I was like “why are you stealing my crackers!” He was shocked they were gluten free haha.
tamari actually isn't a brand of soy sauce, it is traditionally a similar, but different sauce. the main difference is that tamari does not have wheat, and soy sauce (shoyu) does
Dude this video is awesome because I have celiac and obviously I can't see if gluten free food tastes like food with gluten so seeing this is really fun for me 😂
Yes I’m glad that this video (at least in the cookie round) proves that assuming all gluten free food tastes bad or it’s not as good as gluteny food is wrong. Gluten free food can be really delicious and people need to be more open minded
True, I would know I've tasted some really good gluten free meals; *but* I will tell you, when I was first started out on this diet (because of allergies), most of the bread was *horrendous*
I also have gluten and dairy allergies, and let me tell you that GF/DF foods (even tho we are talking about GF food) they taste just as good when they are made right!
ricky perez me making a comment about dry Mac n' cheese isn't evidence to me being "fat". It was a simple observation that was made. I don't need to reject the "idea" of being fat because I couldn't care less. You made an ignorant assumption to whereas I responded with an equally as ignorant assumption of my own.
Angelica Taylor well considering my statement was backed by evidence and yours was random hypotheticaly lets say they were both random i have realized you have a bit of a double chin going on there so theres two reasons why me assuming you're fat isn't biased instead its making an observation as you put it but then again don't leave it to me to decide , instead let me ask you a rather simple question, are you fat ? If you cant determine this yourself (im assuming again because of your use of a strawmans argument pointing to low intelligence levels) take into account these following variables ; do you have shortness of breath when you climb up stairs , when you jump does your body as a whole stay in place of itself or does it jiggle like it would with a fat person, do you have any stretch marks , can you touch your toes without bending your knees ?
ricky perez Even if she is fat, why would that be any of your concern? Also now a days LOTS of people lower their gaze to look at their phone, instead of raising the phone to their gaze. That gives you a double chin despite your weight, along with many other things.
Nah, but for every person who has an actual issue, there seems to be two or three others that say they can't, when they should be saying they don't because of some vague health benefit.
More power to the people (who aren't celiac) who want to spend the extra 6$ for the gluten free loaf of bread that is so hard you could use as a ninja throwing star.
Dat ignorance. The edge is real. You should probably look up what celiac's disease is before making assumptions based off of anecdotal evidence. (Logical fallacy btw.)
This video is great! However there have been so many more gluten free products that have been in the market in the past 2+ years. Can you make a 2019 video for gluten free products? 😁
I went gluten free when my best friend (who has celiac) came to live with me and I kid you not, the gluten free foods I had tasted WAY better than normal foods I ate.
I have celiac disease and I'm very touched to see you do this episode. It's a few years later I find it, but I remember doing this with my brother, having him tell me how great my good was or how close it was to his. Gluten is actually a compound made from a protein combined with water. and the replacement glue is often xanthum gum.
Don't go gluten free Link. Gluten is just a protein in wheat, it does not affect you negatively. If you avoid gluten over a long time you may develop an intolerance.
Although I'm not sure you will develop an intolerance there is no research to support gluten-free diets for anyone other than those affected by celiac disease as gluten-free diet in the absence of celiac disease may actually be detrimental to health. So yes don't go gluten-free, but your reason is wrong.
The support in this friendship I can't even

I have Crohn's disease and I tried going gluten free for 1 month and a few weeks and I don't think I've ever been sicker. I was in constant flare. So not sure if it's necessary "healthier".
Bet gluten free waffles are awful personally 😷
Alani Lagoa depends on your system, some people arent affected by gluten, Some people end up in hospital if they eat it
I think it just depends on the person. I have IBS and was recommended by my doctor to go gluten free and I've never felt better.
Amaranth makes my IBS flare up like crazy. Amaranth is used in some gf foods, so I have to read labels.
I took a HUGE break from watching your channel but now i am watching again 😊

Danny Mckenzie what??
@Dash same
I have to struggle through life with a extreme gluten AND dairy allergy.
Yeah, just think about that.
i thought about it.
im spooped
When I was young, I found out that I was deadly allergic to nuts. There was so much food
I couldn't eat, No peanut butter I couldn't eat half the chocolates on the market, half off all baked goods, I know what you feel
What Candy Can Be I also have celiac disease and I feel you, I tried regular bread and cereal once when I was 6 and I was so sick for around 3 days, haven't really eaten gluten since. I learned my lesson
What Candy Can Be same I was diagnosed when I was 2 I haven't eaten any of the stuff you mentioned
What Candy Can Be same here
A few months ago I was actually watching these guys whilst in the midst of having contractions before my daughter came the next night, I say this is dedication 😂😂💕
The thing with gluten-free foods won't be the taste, but the texture. Gluten doesn't have any taste, it creates the mouth-feel of bread.
Emily C plus, gluten is what keeps food light. lack of gluten makes food dense and heavy
You don't need to eat gluten free unless you have the condition
It's been proven that there is no benefit from doing it unless you were told by your doctor to do it
On the contrary, gluten free recreations of normally glutenous foods actually contain more fats and sugars to compensate for the change. Perhaps naturally gluten free foods are healthier (fruits and veggies for example), but those foods are not exclusive to the gluten free diet
Science talk!

From my experience, there is a very noticable different in gluten free items, especially pastas. Because it doesn't bind the same way as normal 'gluten' pasta, it's more condensed. That tends to affect how it cooks, giving it a much stiffer texture. Or maybe that's just me.
Loren Helgeson totally agree
Loren Helgeson well from my experience, I am like deathly allergic to gluten, and I respect your opinion however I disagree. To me it is great because it's the only I can have. And if you don't have allergies like this or peanuts, you don't really know what it's like to have that the only thing you eat. I am 13 and was diagnosed at 4 with Celiac. Not saying you don't know but I am sincerely asking you to not diss it. And I'm not saying you are. But it also depends on how the pasta is cooked.
Faith S I dont think they want a life story or your opinion.... So here have some gluten 🍞
FINALLY as someone with celiac disease I’ve been waiting for this to happen
It pisses me off when people groan and roll their eyes when I ask if something has gluten in it. I'm sorry my celiac is an inconvenience for YOU!!! If it's inconvenient for you imagine how it is for me! This isn't a fad diet it's a lifestyle I don't have a choice!
Blame the people making it a fad diet, they are the ones that are making those that can't have gluten look like ingrates when they legitimately can't eat it.
CaleyWarrior101 YES PREACH
CaleyWarrior101 why do you need to complain about your life many other people have way worse issues so don't be mad when people roll their eyes to a question they don't know why your asking
This is a video about GLUTEN products. So she's ranting because she's tired of people who sigh, groan, or complain they have to deal with people asking for gluten free products because they legitimately have an intolerance (me) or an allergy (CaleyWarrior101). Get it? And learn to show a little sympathy. You can't know what it's like until you have been there.
CaleyWarrior101 👏👏👍👍yes thank you!
Am I the only one who always roots for Rhett in these?😂🙌
nope I always all the time.😄
I always vote for Rhett
Nope😂
BlueJeans noooooooooooo
I like both of them;)
I know people who have gluten ALLERGIES (non-celiac) where they have anaphalixis, so gluten allergies are legit.
AbbyZinger sorry if I'm mistaken but I don't think that they said they aren't?
Please run for president, but not against each other...
the foxiest presidential rein ever.
Oh my gosh, that'd be so amazing if Rhett and Link were president!

omg me too!!
As someone who cannot have gluten for legitimate medical reasons, I am really happy that gluten-free became a fad diet, if it hadn't it would still be nearly impossible to find decent gluten-free alternatives.
You should do this episode again with Julien Solomita!
But he couldn’t try the non gluten free one..
my mum has coeliac disease, honestly I would never suggest going gluten free unless you have to as it can actually cause you to become intolerant if you don't eat it for a long time.
as far as food goes, some of it is lovely but the bread can be hit or miss, some of it falls apart terribly and tastes awful but some of it is amazing depends what you get. Pasta is so similar it's hard to tell. The kicker is what gluten is in when you don't realise/may contain traces.

I been to a restaurant where it said gluten free oysters, OYSTERS!!! Since when does gluten touch an oyster?!?! Lol
Lov3ly Luna maybe they were crumbed and fried??
Since cross contamination has existed?
It depends on how they were made.

They were just the normal raw oyster bar type oysters lol

I have a gluten allergy so I found King Arthur Flour Gluten Free brownie mix at target and it is so much better than regular brownies. My sister’s boyfriend snuck half of them from me, that’s how good they are 😂. He vehemently hates gluten free things.

Gluten free fried chicken is so gooood
The Pamela’s graham crackers are better than regular graham crackers. My friend ate half my box and when I was like “why are you stealing my crackers!” He was shocked they were gluten free haha.

tamari actually isn't a brand of soy sauce, it is traditionally a similar, but different sauce. the main difference is that tamari does not have wheat, and soy sauce (shoyu) does
weeb
And Tamari has a more heavy aroma which most Westerners are unaccustomed to. This is a bit like comparing cheddar with parmesan.
Soy boyyy

Yes I’m glad that this video (at least in the cookie round) proves that assuming all gluten free food tastes bad or it’s not as good as gluteny food is wrong. Gluten free food can be really delicious and people need to be more open minded
True, I would know I've tasted some really good gluten free meals; *but* I will tell you, when I was first started out on this diet (because of allergies), most of the bread was *horrendous*
No thank you. *evil laugh*
I also have gluten and dairy allergies, and let me tell you that GF/DF foods (even tho we are talking about GF food) they taste just as good when they are made right!
Nah
I have coeliac and from my experience, pretty much everything gluten-free tastes like a potato.

That is the driest mac n' cheese iv'e ever seen 😫
Angelica Taylor by throwing back an assumption you implie that you are fat
ricky perez by making your original comment you implie that you're a knock off Perez Hilton
ricky perez me making a comment about dry Mac n' cheese isn't evidence to me being "fat".
Member the 90's, when people unknowingly ate gluten and nothing happened to them. I member. Placebo effect can very trendy.
So are you saying that celiac disease and crohns disease is made up?
Nah, but for every person who has an actual issue, there seems to be two or three others that say they can't, when they should be saying they don't because of some vague health benefit.
More power to the people (who aren't celiac) who want to spend the extra 6$ for the gluten free loaf of bread that is so hard you could use as a ninja throwing star.
The Great Fausto Pepperidge farm remembers.
Dat ignorance. The edge is real. You should probably look up what celiac's disease is before making assumptions based off of anecdotal evidence. (Logical fallacy btw.)
#getRhettsomemeatballs
Ella Barnes lol I was drifting thru the comments and right as I saw this Rhett started talking about meatballs 😂😂😂
This video is great! However there have been so many more gluten free products that have been in the market in the past 2+ years. Can you make a 2019 video for gluten free products? 😁
"They must put real glue in there then" that line caught be by surprise lmao
I went gluten free when my best friend (who has celiac) came to live with me and I kid you not, the gluten free foods I had tasted WAY better than normal foods I ate.
How can you tell if someone is vegan?
You don't, they'll tell you anyway
David Mansilla lol, that's exactly what I was thinking before I pressed read more.
David Mansilla i'm vegan and lol that's so true. it's just a thing that happens
or athiest, bisexual, has a boyfriend, feminist etc.
same with meat-eaters they will bring it up any second of the day
+Alexis Kis sure because everyone I know who eats meat talks non stop about the fact they eat meat
That's absolutely not correct.
That's not true
Delia Smith rubbish
Although I'm not sure you will develop an intolerance there is no research to support gluten-free diets for anyone other than those affected by celiac disease as gluten-free diet in the absence of celiac disease may actually be detrimental to health. So yes don't go gluten-free, but your reason is wrong.
My daughter has a skin reaction to gluten, she breaks out and it is painful. Her skin has cleared up since going gluten free.
My school serves gluten free Mac and cheese-
It tastes like
*plastic.*
Sn3pz all school food tastes like plastic
I wish my school did that cause I have celiacs
Because the normal glutenous school mac and cheese tastes delicious!
oh wait.
