    Nice review but in my opinion it should never been tested and compared to adventure bikes, because it is not. 17' wheels, front and rear defines its purpose, and that is, a sports tourer that has adventure styling. I'm considering this bike but not for any off road use. Strictly a comfortable road tourer for me.

      Well said and I like that “a sports tourer with adventure styling” if so. One thing is for sure it is comfortable and a well capable road tourer! Thanks for watching!

    I had to watch the video again to absorb everything that you covered . The instrumentation is superb and the way it handled through the curves is impressive. The acceleration is excellent. i thought the stitching on the saddle is flawless. I will have to go for a test drive myself.

    Could you compare and contrast this Versys with your Crosstourer (VFR1200X in US)? I know the electronics are much better on the Kaw, but how would you compare the power delivery between them? How about the handling, comfort, and higher speed stability between them? I found the 1200X (a 2016) I rode to have poor fueling which led to jerkiness, upsetting the ride. Electronic ride modes would have helped the X a lot...and cruise control, a dream. Any thoughts about the two bikes would be very interesting to me. Thanks.

      Travis Osborn the Versys is really a great bike updated to today’s electronic standards. Personally I am a big fan of the in line 4 and it delivers well with more top end than from the 1200x but honestly the 1200x biggest feature is the v4, and in my opinion more acceleration of the mark. What I can say is that although they are similar in comfort the bikes are actually quite different with the Versys more a road biased machine and CT more adventure style and you sense it straight away, stability wise both are well planted due to weight although the Versys IMO felt better on the lean. Both make great long distance tourers eating up miles and will depend on personal preference in the end. I hope this helps.

    good video. Do you prefer versys 1000 or crosstourer vfr1200x?

      The Honda VFR1200x is outdated In comparison to the Versys therefore if it were now I would probably choose the Versys. I did enjoy the ride!

    Very nice and detailed review! Did you ever ride the Triumph Tiger Sport? How would you compare these two?

      I have done both the 800 and 1200. In my opinion the Kawasaki is more refined for road use as a sports tourer and the Triumph as an adventure tourer.

    With a MSRP of 18.5k+ USD for this bike 120hp is pretty anemic in the power department considering it weighs 500+lbs wet. It's direct competition (KTM's 1290 super adventure, BMW's 1000XR or even Ducati's Multistrada) all have 160+hp with the same wizbang tech included for about the same money.

      Kawasaki could have gone for bhp bragging rights and ludicrous top speed, but they took the brave decision to offer a bike which offers more than adequate top speed (unless you take it to the track in which case you’re on the wrong bike), and maximum torque lower in (7500 rpm) and more spread across the rev range. Thereby creating a smooth, comfortable and well-equipped TOURING bike which is easy and practical to ride.
      I looked at BMW when choosing my first bike after 30 years. But as ever with this brand (and it applies to their cars too), speccing up any model to the same level as its Japanese equivalent is complicated and expensive. In the UK, the Versys 1000 SE Grand Tourer costs £15,899. With that you get as standard full luggage, engine guards, fog lights, electronic suspension, Bluetooth, cruise control, heated grips, lean angle ABS, high screen, cornering assist, cornering lights, etc etc. The BMW 1000 XR starts at £14,285. But after working my way through the online « configurator » to get it near to the Versys specification, I reach £17,755 without trying too hard.
      And don’t forget that, as every car and bike dealer will tell you, optional extras don’t increase your resale value over the base model. They just make it easier to sell.

      0 to 100 Adventure so if you were to choose between this and the Tiger 1200 XRT, what would it be? And why?

    • @0to100Adventure
      @0to100Adventure  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nick Truelsen personally I would go with the Triumph simply because it feels and looks more like and adventure bike where as the Kawasaki feels and looks more like a road bike but this is just me. Both are good bikes and it will be boil sown to personal preference. Cheers
