I just bought the Noble Audio Viking Ragnar yesterday. Should be in this morning some time. When it comes to IEMs I went Quality over quantity. I just have 3. The Astell&Kern NOVUS, UM Multiverse Mentor, and now the Ragnar. I wanted to cover different areas of the spectrum instead of a bunch of the same sound type. It would be cool if you could get the Astell&Kern NOVUS to review since it's great for bassheads with plenty of detail and separation on top of a wide holographic soundstage. The Novus sounds like if the Empire Ears Raven had a baby with the Odin and then that baby got a shot of premium juice. Thanks for the great review!

Terrific enthusiasm Michael. I just love this. You definitely have me dying to try them. I’ve really grown to love the IEM experience and hope to get a real flagship like the Ragnar some day. It is worth it. :)

Excellent show as always, thanks Michael! Looking forward to hearing your take on the caldera's performance relative to the atriums. Also, glad you're on the mend :)

I hope you have a quick healing process, Michael! I was lucky enough to demo the Ragnar at Canjam last year and it was a fantastic 10 minutes, lol. Also helped that they had it running off of a WA11 Topaz so the sub bass was like the smoothest warmest massage.

From your description, it sounds like the Ragnar is the CA Andromeda x 4 or maybe x 10. But, the question is, do people really want all that detail bombarding their brains while trying to enjoy the music? It reminds me of the first time I went to see a ballet. I wanted to watch people dancing, twirling and fluttering across the stage. What I heard was a bunch of scuffs, weighty feet slapping the stage and grunts from the men as they lifted the ballerinas. I have never seen another live performance. Sometimes magic is best left unsolved.

I get your point- but then- I’m waiting for my interview to show up and I’m listening to Achtung Baby on the Ragnar- and it’s almost like- should anything be allowed to sound this good? You get an experience with every album. Amazing stuff.

I own these and I use with effect adaptor and a&k Sp2000. I would love to hear these through something like the wa11 topaz but I don’t think there is a dealer in the U.K.. is there a similar portable solution to the woo?

I got the Damascus Viking and it is my favorite and best iem I've tried to date.

How would you compare it with empire ears Odin ?

@@fhamefhame2064 opposite tuning really I also don't like EE iems in general unfortunately. If you want basshead levels stay far away from viking but if you want complementary bass in quality and texture while mids/ highs and technicalities/resolution take the floor then viking is your iem.

... and that's all??. No one will tell me that an IEM that costs so little can play well. Too cheap to be true.
