Jpw03 Amalie Arena might be my favourite looking arena of them all too and I may be biased because I've been there before, even though I'm Canadian, but it still looks incredible! Not to mention there's a rooftop bar in there too!!

The picture of Nationwide Arena for the Columbus Blue Jackets isn't accurate. I've been there for a Nashville game and it was very pretty inside and out.

@Spadezzgaming Outside of the playoffs, its practically a church it's so dead in there. Start hitting competing teams in the states or smaller buildings in general (winnipeg) and it's a whole other story. Had a bunch of good games in rogers no doubt but its nowhere near close to the top
I'm from Edmonton and I just want to say that the picture shown was not the best underneath the building( a road goes underneath the arena but not a tunnel just a catwalk thing) and there are giant screens for pictures a Wayne Gretzky statue and a room full of awards . Also if you get a sky view it is in the form of a oil drop
I think you guys should do a Quebec/Hartford video where you discuss if those places could soon have another team and if so how (expansion or move) that would happen.

Another great video! Obviously I love Rogers Place, but I also really like Amalie because of the hockey vibe, like Brent said. Tampa is one of the few successful franchises in the South, and the marketing there has done a great job to make it so

I LOVE Amalie (of course) and I like the look of Edmontons new arena a lot. I think that BB&T arena or whatever looks like a mall and walking from the parking lot to the arena takes AGES
Ryan P Edmonton's new arena (Roger's Place) was built in the shape of an oil drop. The picture these guys used is not the best at all. They should have used an overhead view.
Ryan P The BB&T center has huge banners of the panthers players outside the front doors (which wouldn’t be in front of a mall) and the huge parking lot means low traffic and ease of access. And it takes 5 minutes to walk across the parking lot which is not a problem for normal people.
Great Channel, like that you include European Hockey from time to time. You guys do a very good job discussing stuff and are not overly funny or too serious just notch it.
Maybe a new intro would help your channel grow.

Panthers fan here; the BB&T center looks awesome but it's in the middle of nowhere. About 15-20 minutes away minimum from Fort Lauderdale and about 45 minutes outside of Miami. The thing is surrounded by the Everglades and suburbia. Frankly, I think our attendance isn't great because of how remote and isolated it is from everything, but other than that it's a great venue
Bob Bobertson OMG I was going to comment the same thing. It's not in the best location for attendance wise but I love how it's not near Miami, and it's kinda of it's own market.
It is a really weird location. Maybe they thought it would bring more people because it's by Sawgrass? Idk. At least there's room for tons of parking
No the reason they put it in the middle of nowhere is so it's easy to get too. Have you ever tried to go to marlins park in miami? It takes an hour to park especially if you're trying to get to a 7:00 game. Rush hour is a killer in the city.
The stadium is actually in a great location because there are a lot of parking and traffic is not bad.

Nationwide Arena is beautiful, great construction and area, easy to get to and get around as well as a lot of pride for their team!

Austin Kurmay I've been there before, and it's a very nice Arena. The inside is nicer than the outside though.
Austin Kurmay die hard bolts fan so little bit of biased opinion: it's a fantastic arena. The teslas are dope, and I love the statues and the huge hedman and stamkos poster, stairs, lightning bolt statue, and the andreychuck statue. It's a dope arena. And it's secluded so it's obvious it's an arena. Biased but hey
i agree the tesla's are nice, but it is not a great arena. I went there this year, and I didn't exactly love it. you can't see the deck at all from the corner seats in the upper level because of the pointless team flags. It is very dark up there too. I don't hate it, but I don't love it.
it's dark so that all your focus is on the light part; which is the ice.

-----Scottrade doesn't look like a hockey arena from that angle. The arena actually has statues outside of players and there's a big banner normally. I was surprised by that rank, but pictures don't do it justice. Love the video!

Amalie looks light years better than it did back before Jeff Vinik bought the team. Before it looked bland and unfinished. Adding that staircase, awnings, statues, and a party deck overlooking Downtown and Thunder Alley (the main plaza right in front of the arena) really did wonders for the building.

the reason Nationwide Arena is Brick is because there is a hole area around it called The Arena District if you ever come to Columbus is one of the best Gameday experiences you will have in all of sports the arena district is awesome Columbus is awesome

When I went to Pittsburgh to see a game, on the big glass wall there were images of their superstars. It was crazy and unbelievable! There is also a statue of Mario Lemieux outside.

I do agree Verizon center should be near the end of the list but not because it doesn't look like an arena. Most architects want buildings to tie well with the urban landscape around them.

And as we in the bay know, it's not new. SAP took over naming rights from HP, Compaq and others in the past. This is the Sharks original home ice arena; not including Cow Palace where they temporarily played while the [now named] SAP Center was being built.
The ACC looks amazing when you walk toward it from the street. Parking near the arena is horrible, but it causes everyone to walk along the street creating a giant atmosphere around the arena a lot of excitement gets you ready before you even get there.
It's a good thing that you only did the outside because as someone who has been to MSG I would take major points off from the inside tbh. As someone who lives in the metro NY area and has been to Prudential Center many times, Prudential Center is a WAAAAY better place indoors.

I studied engineering under one of the folks who designed the Saddledome. They weren't actually trying to make it look like a saddle. The shape comes from the unique design of the roof which is supported by cables hanging from one end to the other and then had concrete slabs placed on top of them, so it is literally a suspension roof. But of course once people saw pictures of the design the name became obvious, especially since it was located on the Calgary Stampede grounds. The other unique structure that was built for the Olympics was the speed skating oval. I don't know how you describe that roof but it also is quite unique.
FYI Amalie arena is pronounced am-A-lee arena

Tampa bay Lightning's rink is my fav
Bridgestone Arena in Nashville is great. Not a bad seat in the building. Also they have cheerleaders and a great live band which often has surprise celebrity singers. The location is the best right in the heart of downtown. You can walk right out of the arena onto Broadway which is full of bars, restaurants, and live music clubs everywhere with no cover charges. Makes for lots of fun before and after games.

The PNC arena was just bought by a rich guy and is renovating many things and installing some things like ice projections, new locker rooms and a upgraded exterior in the next few years. Current status is locker rooms, and now you can go in the tunnels before the game!

The one in Calgary looks like a Pringle potato chip, lol. Oh and the Bridgestone arena is USUALLY decked out in in Preds colors and signage so that picture was either an older one (before we got better, lol) oooor there was some sort of concert or other event going on that day. Our city has been growing so much since the arena was built that much of the surrounding buildings have taken aspects of it into their construction and it's just made a really neat futuristic vibe downtown. Anyways, thanks for the video and putting us so high up!

FYI the MTS Centre was very constricted with size. They tore down the Eaton centre (shopping) and took up a street lane. I think they did as much as possible to make it big. The Rogers Arena (Vancouver) was also limited as the Georgia viaduct was already in place. Also, BC Place is right next to the Rogers Arena.
I spent college in DC. I can assure you when my Penguins came to town it was quite fun. That being said, I would rather be watching from the old civic/ mellon arena than inside or outside what is now capital one arena. It is connected to a weird mall with a bowling alley and movie theater, and the movie theater has bigger signs. Most fun part is always cheering outside after a good Penswin

mine is OILERS INSIDE AND OUT, i been a Oilers fan for 12 years now.
What happened was i got NHL 2005 on ps2, and i picked a random team, it was oilers, so i pretty much just started following them.

In Pittsburgh during the hockey season and Finals they have a big Stanley Cup on the front and "2016 Stanley Cup Champion" logo as well
Part of why the TD Garden is rectangular is because it's on a rectangular train station (North Station) and it would be kinda hard to change that
The Outside of Amalie Arena is Awesome When I Was There in March To Watch The Lightning Senators Game Wearing My Flyers Stuff and I Was Also Outside The PPG Paints Arena Last Month Very Nice Arena That Was in My Flyers Stuff Once Again!
Columbus is a very brick city, plus that picture of Nationwide Arena was very old. But the building fits very well and is almost near the center of downtown. I love it, and people always typically rank the inside in their top 3 when they've been there.
On the left side of Key Bank Center (sabres arena, first niagara in video) they have a little plaza that was sort of cut off in the video. It has statues of the French Connection and lots of pictures of sabres players along with little plaques on the brick support poles of sabres fans first game dates, players who have died, and fans who have died. It's pretty nice, especially now with Harbor Center connected to it.
Where the Canucks play looks like an awesome arena. the xcel energy center looks very cool and is in a hockey area.
for a warm area I would give props to where the Kings play the staple center.
Just remember that originally the mts centre was not originally for hockey, because it was made before they came back.

To add on to the ACC in toronto it was also built on the old Canada post distribution centre built about the 1930s, leaving most of the historic structures frame. Also the spot is called maple leafs square during leafs games and Jurassic park during raptors games.

With the Gila River arena and as an ex employee, the outside of the arena doesnt really scream coyotes. The front of the arena facing West Gate has a littlr more coyotes but throughout the rest of West Gate there are a lot of thing of the coyotes with portraits of players and the logos in the windows of shops
It's funny because if you want to go to Boston for a game, you can take a train right to TD Garden. North Station is one of two main train stations in Boston and sits right under TD Garden, kind of like how Penn Station sits right under MSG.
The way Rogers place is is when your going there you don’t see the building until it’s right in front of you when you take a turn at an intersection
I'm glad Amalie Arena (Ice Palace, St Pete Times Forum, Tampa Bay Times Forum, etc, lol) placed high. They had only recently renovated it a afew years back and that centered staircase used to be a smaller staircase to the left of that one which was parallel to the building. It was a mess. It is far more inviting now.
