Also, there is no reasons any rink other than Mullet should be ranked worst than the saddle dome in Calgary. That place is ATROCIOUS! The only stadium/Arena ive ever been to that was worse is the Metrodome. That place was something else. Anyway NO WAY Florida and Anaheim are worse than saddle dome - It's impossible. And Denvers rink is pretty sold. Great place to watch hockey. I really enjoy your video but I think Hockey is a little out of your element because Buffalo, St Louis, Calgary and Arizona should have been all at the bottom. As a Winnipeger I'm SHOCKED my Arena was top 10. Especially since the SAP centre which it was copied from was so low on the list and how cheap it was to build ($136M CDN in 2004) lol.
This is how you tell someone doesn't go to hockey games with actually saying so. Full disclosure, I've been to at least half of the arenas on here. The Saddledome has turned into a dump inside. I was there last season and the Flames not spent much in the way of upkeep inside the building. It's so bad the plastic on the seats doesn't match. You can literally see where they've removed a broken seat and replaced it one in storage. The arena the Panthers play in is way better than most give it credit for. It's only knock is that it's way outside of the city on the edge of the Everglades and is a pain to get to. United Center looks the way it does, because they built it so the exterior would mimic Chicago Stadium. The mark was completely missed on Scotiabank Arena. The building used to be the main post office in the city. Atmosphere is always top notch. The Bell Centre was shoehorned into it's space leading to some of the steepest seats I've ever seen in a lower bowl, not to mention the seats are noticeably tighter than everywhere else I've been to. There's a common theme here with all of his videos, "so and so stadium/arena looks dated". Yeah, but they're functional. Most of us go to games to see the game and couldn't give two shits about all of the blinking lights that attract little kids. How else do you think landmarks become landmarks? By always looking new? Sorta defeats the purpose of something becoming a landmark. I would really love to see what he would have thought if he set foot in any of the grand daddies of stadium lore like Comiskey Park, Chicago Stadium, Maple Leaf Gardens, pre renovation Wrigley Field with it's netting under the upper deck to catching the falling concrete, Boston Garden with it's rats, etc.
0:15 I am a Jets season ticket holder since day one and have complained to the team more than once that the Grey seats shown in this image pointing to True North (because thats ownerships company name) should have the Canadian flag over it! Why TF is the American flag over the spot referencing true north!?!?! That makes ZERO sense. Come on Mark Chapman get it together. and of ya, Fire the GM already for gods sake hes GARBAGE!
Climate Pledge Arena! The roof is the register of historic places. It opened in 1962 as the Washington State Pavilion or the Worlds Fair. In the shadow of the Space Needle, it was converted into the Seattle Center Colosseum and was the home of the Seattle Totems of the old professional WHL. The Supersonics of the NBA also occupied from 1967. Renovated in the Early '90s to the benefit of the NBA and made it scrappy for hockey. After the Sonics were stolen and went to Oky Shitty it was home to the WNBA Storm. Finally it has been completely rebuilt into Climate Pledge Arena for the Kraken! The NBA says Seattle is on the top of the list for an expansion team, but I say fuck em! Why would anyone want to spend 2 billion for an expansion team that will suck for 20 years!
For the KeyBank Center- I live in the area and that arena still has the original 1996 seats. There have been some seating additions from the original capacity, the seating bowl painted gold instead of the original red, and locker room renovations. Other than that, the building has not had a major renovation and almost all of the seats are still the original.
You’ll be happy to hear PNC Arena is currently planning on renovating! Not too many renderings have been released, but some have been out for a while that give an idea what it will look like. Starts summer of 2024 and will cost around $250M most likely. A big part of the renovation is changing that south end into a high-end fan space instead of offices which may help out the appeal.
Another thing about Climate Pledge Arena is that its name isn’t just for show, as it’s the only arena in the world to be zero-carbon certified! The entire arena runs on renewable energy, which is pretty crazy for a building of that scale.
The KeyBank Center is finally getting some upgrades in 2024-25. The Sabres announced that the roof will be replaced, a new scoreboard will be installed, and they will begin replacing seats. Also the Sabres are working with Populous (same company that is designing the new Highmark Stadium) to design comprehensive renovations.
Can’t believe you had TD Garden so low . Seems your only issue was the black seats but it’s a great arena for hockey. Fans are very close to the action and it gets very loud.
Agreed. Tight seats only issue with TD Garden. Concourses are amazing after the renovation, good food selection, loud fans and is easily accessible by public transportation.
Been to 14 out of the 32 Current Arenas and I've enjoyed them all in a special way. One thing I didn't like about Bridgestone Arena was the seats were so small and tight
My wife's cousin in Naples loves it right there at the end of Alligator alley. But ya, for most people in the Miami area it is the edge of civilization
I guess the main driving point is hockey spectator viewing but the discussion of being dated and the exterior all add to the experience. Two things not mentioned are the access to the arena and how difficult it is to navigate the path to one's seat. Some of these arenas have restricted access with small entrances or only from one or two sides of the building and the concession areas back up and block access to the aisles. Should parking count?
Scotia is pronounced Scoshia as in Nova Scotia. ScotiaBank Arena in Toronto you missed the best side: it was built with the facade an old art deco post office.
The Coyotes should have "Mullet Day" at Mullett Arena where the first 4,500 fans through the gates (in other words, all of them) get a free mullet wig (half black and half burgundy red) to wear during the game.
Rogers arena still has 7 feet tall showers in the visitor dressing rooms from the NBA days, saw that on a stadium tour a few years ago. Wishful thinking maybe?
So now every city is supposed to build a dedicated basketball arena and a hockey arena? You don’t like two level or three level arenas? I’m damn confused. Wtf
I'm a Vancouver resident and love the Canucks. Rogers arena is better than most I've seen on this list. And you didn't show where the arena is, it's the most easiest rink to get too, skytrain doors open up the the actual stadium. And COSTCO is right across the street for easy $1 hotdogs.
I'd agree with this, i'm in Edmonton so i'm spoiled. But my gripe about Xcel was the neighborhood. It's in a dump with tents all over the place and homeless all over. Abandoned parking garages too. My wife and I were going to get last minute tickets for the Wild after a Vikings game there and when we got there we turned around and went back to the hotel. Arena looked really nice though.
The best thing about the TD Garden is that North Station is in the basement and you can take a train to the arena which is a good thing because there is no place to park
@Depressed Ginger I disagree with your assessment of the Xcel Energy Center. It's pretty obvious you have only looked at pictures. The organ for music looks like a Zamboni and you can visibly see the person playing it on one of the corners of the arena. Also, state high schools are represented in the concourse and are visible to fans. They also have other note worthy stuff in it.
UBS arena is beautiful but it’s not home. You almost got the feel of the barn but not quite. Nassau Colosseum came alive! It’s a million times better then the Barclays though! With the off center Jumbotron.
As to why you'll never see an arena with a roof like the Saddledome ever again it's because it's the biggest design flaw. The roof is failing because the tensioned cables are rusting due to moisture getting in and they even put up netting to catch loose concrete falling off the outer ring (you can see them installing this netting at 9:58). This combined with low load-bearing capacity of the roof, bad acoustics, and small interior volume all make the design outdated compared to modern roof designs. The acoustics are so bad that you cant hear anyone in the upper 3rd level of seating in most games and they have to crank up the audio in the arena because it's so quiet of a building. When the Flames move into their new arena the atmosphere during games will be significantly enhanced because of the better acoustics.
No actually I think of championships at Staples Center, the Kings won there in 2012 and 2014. The Lakers won there in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2099, 2010, then Mickey Mouse bubble title in 2020. Also Lakers lost the 2004 and 2008 Finals there. The Kings definitely deserve respect there, especially since there’s is way more recent. Again Lakers have played in a Finals game or won a championship since 2010! 2020 was entirely in Orlando bubble. And places like United Center opened in 1994, both Bulls (1996, 1997, 1998) and Blackhawks (2010, 2013, 2015) winning 3 championships there, same number they both won at their former home Chicago Stadium (1929-1994), the Bulls (1991, 1992, 1993) and Blackhawks (1934, 1938, 1961). Then TD Garden, another place opened in 1995. Celtics (2008) and Bruins (2011) each won a championship there, while playing in 3 NBA Finals (2008, 2010, 2022) and 3 Stanley Cup Final (2011, 2013, 2019). I think championships bring charm to an arena, and United Center and TD Garden both replaced iconic, outdated facilities and have had success in their new home, that’s a plus IMO. Ball Arena could move up on list if Nuggets win an NBA Championship, so far first NBA Finals there in an arena that opened in 1999. Avalanche won/ hosted 2 Stanley Cups there (2001, 2022). Also called the Lightning arena like AMA-LEE Arena lol, it’s AMA-lay Arena if I’m sounding it out. Also again, little research, if you look closely at exterior of Xcel Energy Center, they have a banner for the GOP Convention with year 2003, the convention was held there in 2008, so my guess is this photo was taken in early 00s, this is in response to him wondering how old the exterior pic is.
This list is a joke. The saddledome and Canadian tire centre are bottom of the league venues. Not to mention dropping points because an arena shares with basketball is stupid. If it was something like when the isles played in Brooklyn or the Yotes at america west then i would get it but if it doesnt ruin sightlines or put the scoreboard off in a strange place than it should not be a detractor.
This entire list became invalid the moment you put the worst arena in the sport (Canadian Tire Centre) and the oldest (Saddledome) ahead of arguably the last great arena of the 20th Century; Scotiabank. The renovations on Scotiabank since '99 cost more than the crappy CTC or outdated Saddledome cost to build 30+ years ago and they have undergone ZERO serious renovations since then. Your NBA bias wrecked the validity of this list.
He doesn't like the interior. In the end the coloured seats are a nod to the band of colour for the historical look of the Maple Leaf Gardens. It is super steep and you feel on top of the action in the upper deck
@@marklittle8805 Thanks, but I don't need a history lesson about the seating arraignment at MLG, I was there. The thing is, the interior of Scotia is without question a better 'setup' than the Kanata dump as DG has failed to mention the wall of suites & clearly doesn't know about the Platinum box situation at the arena. Based on the exterior, take a picture 10ft to the L or R and you will quickly realize how shitty the arena is even for Ottawa residents. No wonder the new ownership hinges on a new DOWNTOWN arena.
I attended a Panther game against Buffalo-2 tickets at centre ice for $60-for both. The mythical town of "Sunrise" is nowhere Miami or Ft. Lauderdale...people in Ottawa should consider themselves lucky!😀 as far as Detroit is concerned it should have been called the :Gordie Howe Olympia".
Great renovation to MSG but one thing I'm sad about is they took away the famous tunnel where the teams would come out of not to mention the wrestlers and boxers.

1:06 If FLA Live Arena fails, The Panthers might move to American Airlines Arena(Kaseya Center) where the Miami Heat plays or VyStar Arena in Jacksonville, Florida left door to EverBank Stadium
Go Jacksonville
Happy to see Canada life centre ranked that high. Lets go jets
Jets fan here and was pretty surprised it’s not ranked 31st after mullet 😂
7:29 WNBA Dallas Wings In American Airlines Center in Downtown Dallas, Texas
They dony play there
Neo Mavericks Arena will be built in no time
Also, there is no reasons any rink other than Mullet should be ranked worst than the saddle dome in Calgary.
The Metrodome was sick bro loudest house in the NFL
Saddledome isn't that bad dude relax. Yeah it's old, but its classic and the Saddle shape is very unique.
I love the Scota bank lmao
My gripe with MSG is that its hosted the Rangers longer than the Knicks so the critique of the seating doesnt make sense
Man I love PNC
Another thing about Climate Pledge Arena is that its name isn’t just for show, as it’s the only arena in the world to be zero-carbon certified! The entire arena runs on renewable energy, which is pretty crazy for a building of that scale.
The Video ive been Waiting for is finally here
Why do i feel like he’s yelling at me😂😅
The KeyBank Center is finally getting some upgrades in 2024-25. The Sabres announced that the roof will be replaced, a new scoreboard will be installed, and they will begin replacing seats. Also the Sabres are working with Populous (same company that is designing the new Highmark Stadium) to design comprehensive renovations.
16:30 new WNBA and NBA teams in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
"Scotabank arena"
he also called the bell centre ball centre lol
Can’t believe you had TD Garden so low . Seems your only issue was the black seats but it’s a great arena for hockey. Fans are very close to the action and it gets very loud.
Agreed. Tight seats only issue with TD Garden. Concourses are amazing after the renovation, good food selection, loud fans and is easily accessible by public transportation.
Shouldn't you include things like food options, unique things, fan experience etc when ranking arenas?
He has a reputation for not doing much research for videos so I think this ranking came from whatever random images he could find.
Trust me the United Center is more so known for the hockey not basketball
He must believe that Jordan trumps anything the Blackhawks have ever done at the Madhouse
I think after Jordan retired its been much more known for the Blackhawks although it's synonomous with the last of the 3-peat Bulls dynasty.
I would argue Chicago stadium was known for hockey then basketball until Michael Jordan got to Chicago
yea that really true
18:16 UBS Arena should relocate to Queens, New York where the Mets stand or return to Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York for the Islanders
Good Choice
FUN FACT:
"Scotiabank" is pronounced "Scoe-shuh bank" Scotia, as in Nova Scotia, is Latin. It means Scotland.
What is the criteria for the rankings? Your opinion of looks, is interesting way of ranking areana.
3:04 the new Wizards and Mystics Arena should relocate where RFK Stadium(gets destroyed)
I like how up to date your rankings are, taking into account the 2023 NHL playoffs.
Very well done!!! 👍
13:16 New NBA and WNBA teams in Tampa Bay, Florida
12:30 “Energy Center”? What?
19:45 New NBA and WNBA in Nashville, Tennessee and Memphis, Tennessee
WNBA in Nashville
Would be nice if this guy told us what team plays in the arena. Sometimes he does and other times he doesnt.
That would mean he did some actual research when making these
Would be nice if he spoke like a human being instead of a monotone robot.
The big logo in the center of the Ice usually gives it away
Been to 14 out of the 32 Current Arenas and I've enjoyed them all in a special way. One thing I didn't like about Bridgestone Arena was the seats were so small and tight
Been asking for months, can you do a video on the NHL Scorebugs? Please!
Please do 2023/24 Premier league stadiums
The aerial shot of Honda Center you show is actually the Panthers Arena.
everytime I walk up to ubs arena and just look at it im amazed.
The Florida Panthers need a new arena near downtown Miami. As a Miami native, driving almost an hour to see a hockey game was just a pain.
My wife's cousin in Naples loves it right there at the end of Alligator alley. But ya, for most people in the Miami area it is the edge of civilization
7:07 Bring back Meadowlands Arena for NBA, NHL and New WNBA teams
Trenton City Arena is good for the NJ Devils
I guess the main driving point is hockey spectator viewing but the discussion of being dated and the exterior all add to the experience. Two things not mentioned are the access to the arena and how difficult it is to navigate the path to one's seat. Some of these arenas have restricted access with small entrances or only from one or two sides of the building and the concession areas back up and block access to the aisles. Should parking count?
Scotia is pronounced Scoshia as in Nova Scotia. ScotiaBank Arena in Toronto you missed the best side: it was built with the facade an old art deco post office.
So you're saying that newer arenas are more modern than older arenas? And older arenas look older than newer arenas? That's some brilliant analysis!
The Coyotes should have "Mullet Day" at Mullett Arena where the first 4,500 fans through the gates (in other words, all of them) get a free mullet wig (half black and half burgundy red) to wear during the game.
I think they did something like that for their first home game or something
Having the Saddledome at 16 is ridiculous. It is widely regarded as the worst, oldest and shittiest stadium in the NHL.
10:14 new WNBA and NBA teams in Saint Louie, Missouri
Saint Louis NBA at The Family Arena and WNBA at Enterprise Center
Putting key bank center at 27 and td garden at 23 is a crime
Rogers arena still has 7 feet tall showers in the visitor dressing rooms from the NBA days, saw that on a stadium tour a few years ago. Wishful thinking maybe?
So now every city is supposed to build a dedicated basketball arena and a hockey arena? You don’t like two level or three level arenas? I’m damn confused. Wtf
I completely understand what you are talking about he just likes to complain about something on everything he ranks
17:05 bring back the NBA Seattle Sonics
I went to a game at PNC and sat upper deck, my god is that upper deck steep
I'm a Vancouver resident and love the Canucks. Rogers arena is better than most I've seen on this list. And you didn't show where the arena is, it's the most easiest rink to get too, skytrain doors open up the the actual stadium. And COSTCO is right across the street for easy $1 hotdogs.
Rogers place is a crazy arena! Ive also heard its one of the best ice surfaces in the NHL because the Ice only comes out in the off season.
What is all the talk about windows. You want sunlight to blind the goalies so that can't see the puck? These areas have lights so it's not dark!
This dudes lists suck. He’s wrong more times than he’s right.
You know who bedard is so I am guessing you are a hockey fan too. If so what’s your team?
Save-On-Foods Memorial Center and Rogers Arena needs NBA and WNBA in British Columbia
How is MSG at #10 and not #1 it is the worlds most famous arena!!!!!
Fr
Being famous dont make it a good arena, its actually kind of bland
I been to Minnesota Wild arena , more than my own teams arena, the SJ Sharks. XCEL Energy Center is a nice 1. The interior was really nice
Well obviously it’s not going to feel like home because it’s only been home for two years and not 40
Why is ball arena so low?
Even tho Pistons and Red wings share, it is more known for the Detroit Pistons
4:32 new WNBA team known as the Philadelphia Bells are coming
The Saddledome is a dump, should be #31.
No surprise on Honda Center, it's almost the same exact design as the BMO Harris Bradley Center which has since been demo'd for the Fiserv Forum.
msgs upper levels are very tight. esp with the concave roof
Mullett Arena is as stylish as the hair style
We just saw Kiss at Little Caesars arena a few weeks ago
The aerial picture of The Honda Center is obviously wrong. It's the Florida Panther arena as the logo and swampy landscape clearly show
Fla live arena is so underrated
Rank AHL next!
the fans is what brings boston to life
I attended a Panther game against Buffalo-2 tickets at centre ice for $60-for both. The mythical town of "Sunrise" is nowhere Miami or Ft. Lauderdale...people in Ottawa should consider themselves lucky!😀
as far as Detroit is concerned it should have been called the :Gordie Howe Olympia".
Sunrise is near Ft. Lauderdale.
Over 97% of games are at night, so why car about”Natural Light”? It’s dark??? Good ranking otherwise!
Scotiabank Arena love how you made up that silent "l" all by yourself.
Great renovation to MSG but one thing I'm sad about is they took away the famous tunnel where the teams would come out of not to mention the wrestlers and boxers.
the smaller an arena the better. you are closer to the action....
Bridgestone Arena in Nashville has the BEST fans and hockey experience in my opinion, i have been to 14 NHL arenas for games as a Predators fan and Bridgestone puts them to shame, also Predators and Bridgestone hold the record for the loudest NHL game in history and for a while it was the loudest indoor game ever recorded, still might be but not sure, anyways LET'S GO PREDS 💪
Damn Canadian Tire Centre > Than Scotiabank Arena? I’m from Ottawa but Scotiabank is miles away better than CTC. 😂
my home rink almost the exact same as the mullet, brooks centennial regional arena (cra) 😭
