Blackberry combined with ripe pear is a perfect balance, like lemon with blueberry. Ah, this took me on a real trip down memory lane! I spent a lot of my childhood in Lowsonford, and we loved playing by the canal and in the fields round the village. I remember one memorable adventure when we paddled an inflatable boat down the canal, and a real treat was to walk down to the Fleur de Lys pub for one of their famous pies - my mouth is watering remembering them! Lovely barrel roof canal cottage, i think unique to this area. Agree with you about ticks this year, as i got Lyme back in May, from my paddock, where a Deer had been grazing. Now have Lyme , which was treated for 6 weeks , but can re occur. Dogs also get wheat and grass husks inside the ear drums, so i put olive Oil in the ears before walking in long grass, it sstops them from sticking to inner ears. I do this with my 7 cats too.
