How to use Clippercard in Caltrain

You must always have $1.25 in cash value on your card, even if you are using a Monthly Pass or 8-ride Ticket to pay your fare.
Tag Your Card
Find the Caltrain Clipper card reader at the station or platform.
For assistance finding the reader with audio signals, listen for a low beeping sounding at 15-second intervals.
Listen to a sample of the tone.
Hold your card flat against the Clipper logo on the reader.
Wait for the beep and green light.* Here is what the beep sounds like when you have tagged successfully:

You said you have already scanned your Clipper card. You need to point where in the machine you had scanned your clipper card. This good info for the first time Clipper card user. Thanks for your video.

Hi Today, I got a new clipper card ($3.00) and a monthly pass ($152.60) on paying in total $155.60. I just want to know whether in addition to that I need have a $1.25 cash value on my card to travel on Cal train using Clipper card from Zone 2 to Zone1 ?

I assume when you are on board Caltrain, the conductors have a handheld device that checks your Clipper card when they make their rounds. None of the videos so far explain this clearly.

yes, for all clipper transit, your clipper card will be charged the maximum amount initially., If you scan when getting off the difference will be put back into your account, so if you forget to scan again you're likely paying a few dollars more than you need
