Also, when I run my VIN through dataMB.com, it says mine is not equipped with the rain or light sensors. "V97 No rain/light sensor". So I'm thinking I'm screwed. Ideas?
Hi Mike - are you in the US? All Smart 453 are equipped with auto-light/rain sensor. For activate the auto-lights you just need to install the auto-light-stalk. No coding is required for this. To activate the auto-wipers you must first install the stalk and then activate the coding (e.g. through DDT4ALL). I bought the auto-light-stalk on Ebay, but I had to order the auto-wiper-stalk from Mercedes. Good luck!

For the auto-wipers, there are a few version (the version for the cabrio will NOT have the option for rear wiper). Version for coupe: A4539051501 Version for cabrio: A4539051101 (before ordering, you might want to confirm these numbers with a dealer)

Any update ? I have the same issue . I found the steering wheel with shifters on eBay but I’m not sure if I have to code it while installing it ..
