Well they been seen together and confirmed Bros, one has Wather the other Rock and Steel who are very strongly connected to the Land, so yeah they both Counterparts who repressent Sea and Land.
All the lore in that game is about duality. Water and earth, Wallace and Steven, even the etymology of their name is meant to reflect that. Also, didn’t Gen 3 introduce double battles?
I think the reason why Steven stands out among the champions is his character more than anything else. All the others have such intense and outgoing personalities while Steven just seems like kind and thoughtful guy. Hes the only one i feel like i could actually hang out with.
Steven is my personal favorite champion and I think he ranks up there as one of the more memorable and charismatic ones. He may not have a team as tough as Cynthia’s but it’s far from an underwhelming one. Consistent is probably the best word I can use to describe him since he’s probably the one known champion focused on defense.

I think they missed a huge opportunity between Gen 4 thru 7. We should have had a Steel type that evolves with a Fire Stone. In Gen 3, Ash and Co. met Steven in Dewford Cave, and at the end of the Episode Steven found what he was (I believe) looking for... a Fire Stone. Why would Steven want a Fire Stone? Well, maybe in Ash and Steven's Quarter Final Masters 8 Coronation Series Match, Steven would use this Steel/Fire Type, and Steven could then reference, "Ash, you remember the Fire Stone I collected back in Dewford Cave? This is the reason I was looking for it!" That would have been an incredible Full Circle Plot moment, and give more significance and connection to Ash and Steven's past together, as well as make that Dewford Cave Episode gain alot more meaning!

N is technically a champion since he defeated Alder in an official league battle. I know he's not "evil," but he's still the leader of Team Plasma. Edit: Wait, you meant having the present Champion be the secret leader of the organization, in which case, N is kind of the opposite. Nevermind.
It's important to remember that plot armor is a thing. If pokemon journeys focused on stephen stone then stephen would win but this is all about ash and he'll end up battling leon and either winning or at least tieing with leon
I just know the reason why I like Steven is because he was hard to battle, but a win against him was pretty rewarding. (i went in with a crappy team when i was a child, lol) plus I had a crush on him. same thing with cynthia.
Ash vs Steven was pretty controversial lol. I loved it, but I acknowledge that it was flawed and rushed. As for how strong he is, I think the Ash vs Steven fight if anything elevated my view of him. He's a triple type specialist, and he knows how to play offensively and defensively. Sadly, he doesn't really have pokemon that can play both which might contribute to why he's always viewed as a step below Cynthia. Still, he's probably my second favorite champion of all time, right after Cynthia. There's other champions that could claim that spot, but I'll give the edge to him for style points lol
His Metagross is able to play both offensively and defensivley, and he does that pretty well. Very Tanky and Powerful at once. Also becomes very fast once in mega form
@@ludwig-alice You are right, and Aggron can play both as well to an extent. I duno, I guess with Garchomp, Milotic, Togekiss, and Spiritomb, Cynthia plays both better? Or maybe we just all struggled with Cynthia more since she's not a type specialist, and that's why we view her as stronger lol
While I never really struggled against Steven since I always use either Blaziken or swampert no matter the gen, I definitely enjoy him as a character and always appreciate steel specialists, from jasmine to peony, all steel specialists are welcome
How the hell is Leon ranked above Steven. Leon dresses like a 5 year old man child. Steven is actually charismatic, well dressed, and carries himself like a gentleman. Leon over here whipping his cape around like a toddler
I find his metagross in ORAS to be somewhat of a downgrade. Yeah it has a mega now and zen headbutt is good with Metagross. But why does it have two steel moves and Giga Impact? Just keep one and get rid of Giga Impact for better moves for example Ice punch or Rock Slide.
The fact that Leon is #2 is disgusting. He's my least favorite of all time. Anyways, Steven is my favorite champion. I love his team as well as his role in the story of Gen 3. I was so surprised and invigorated when he turned out to be the champion. I'll never forget that feeling.

Well not hard to see where the writers got the master 8 roster from. All they had to do was pick which rival was going to represent blue as Gary was not going to take part in the masters 8.
Steven has to many rock types in his team, Mega Agron is a better choice because Metagross is already a great Pokémon by itself, Steven deserves a Flygon in his team.
This is the guy that when we first seen him he chewed out team rocket for disturbing the pokemon IN the cave and then proceeds to flash cannon them thru said cave wall/ceiling??? Yeah.
that battle was awsome. when pikachu took down steven's last pokemon. i had a rush of eutosisme, like when i take down a raid boss for the first time. amazing battle, wel exsecuted. and defently rewatch worthy.
Steven is my favorite champion. In my personal headcanon he should have a Diancie. It would fit him so well as a rare stone collector, and also his friendly/likeable demeanor, which would probably describe Diancie well too. He already has a Carbink, which is similar to Diancie but just weaker, so Diancie would fit in very well.
Why is Leon that popular? Like, legitimately. As a Leon hater (and no, not because of his popularity) I certainly cannot see him in any possible positive light. Iris is more likable than Leon, and I don't exactly care for her either.
@@Alexgodofwar5662 Yeah, in circumstances that either any other Trainer can deal with or he just completely fails. Also, he doesn't act in the post game of SwSh. The most he does is act like a police officer. In most other games, a champion either isn't present at the time or is present but is also a mediator. For example, Cynthia. In Platinum, she goes into the Distortion World and tries to talk down Cyrus when you come along and Cyrus forces you into battle. Also, Lance helped by taking down Team Rocket's operation in Mahogany Town because they are actively harming the ecosystem. Most other times it's either because the Teams are doing something in secret or because the Trainer is there before the Champion can get there. Plus, the Champion isn't supposed to be the guardian of that region but another Trainer in the defending force. Also, the Trainer is the one putting in the work to pass every roadblock, including the Champion. If I see a Champion battle and attempt to catch a legendary (in a damned Pokeball) that lessens the intensity of the situation because than the situation boils down to "Hey, I weakened it, your turn." Basically passing the responsibility onto us when the responsibility, as an aspiring Trainer, should be ours. Example, when you get to Plasma Castle in Black and White, the Gym Leaders take on the Sages, telling you to go on ahead to face the bigger challenge and threat. It isn't Alder battling Ghetsis, losing, and telling you to take the reins. You fought against and alongside the Gym Leaders, you know their strength, and their capabilities. The Champion isn't supposed to be a character that's taking care of the problems that you can take care of by yourself, they're supposed to be your final challenge and roadblock to being the greatest Trainer in the region. Seeing Leon completely flop against Eternatus just makes me think "This guy is going to be more of a pushover than his brother." And honestly, he was!...... Anyways, I'm done with my rant.
Lance probably would've been a bit more popular (or stronger at least) if he were given a Tyranitar (since he's rather a trainer who uses pokénon with dragon-like appearances than simply a dragon master) and Kingdra. This would've made his team more challenging since one cannot truly/realistically be champion unless you use various types or all of them.
I think that Steven is a strong trainer and would be on par with Cynthia I thought Ash vs Steven was good Steven proves to be a real Challenge for Ash and Through Ash struggles in the battle Ash was able to win and Pikachu takes the win by beating two of Steven’s a Pokemon and Defeats his third Metagross and another win against a Mega evolved pokemon.
MysticUmbreon I need help! I forgot to grab a Cleffa for Shining Pearl and now I would need to grind tons for it catch up with my team! What Pokemon do I replace Clefairy with? Please tell me!
ASH WON BECAUSE OF PLOT ARMOUR. DIANTHA V LANCE AND CYNTHIA V IRIS FOLLOWED GAME LOGIC. STEVEN SHOULD HAVE WON… but the writers had other plans. They should have made Lance lose to him. Lance fucking sucks.
He is tough for sure. You think hey he is a "steel" trainer ima use fire. Barley any good fire in gen 3. Blaziken is weak im some way to all of his pokemon. For a region being full of water types trying to exploit that weakness is not guaranteed victory
Hes high Midtier for me. I recently ranked all the Champs, and for me he was the 5. hardest after the Alola Champ whos obviously us, Cynthia, Red and Green. His Team for the most Part is very very easy. Claydol, Metagross and Craydilly are the only good one. Scarmory is powerfull but easy to conter and he starts whit it. Claydol is strong for tanking a lot and giving Lightscreen Suport. Armaldo and Aggron are slow and easy to oneshot, so they absolutely need Screens to not die imideatly. Craydilly is a Annoyer who realy ripps Holes in your Team, definitly his second most valuable Teammember. Metagross can sweap your team very easily, my Blaziken got outspeed a few Times by it. Its definitly the Pokemon who makes him hard, and it shows.
Steven interacted with Ash how many times during the Hoenn journey? I recall like once. Cynthia interacted throughout Sinnoh then met up in Unova. She had a much bigger impact on Ash's improvement. She always held people accountable. Steven was no where to be found when team magma and aqua fought with ancient legends threatening to destroy everything...we had Lance as a G Man Champions are supposed to be role models for trainers, Cynthia did her job. Most of the others fail at this.
@@kevinzhang9591 Oh I agree. If I was talking about the anime. I’m talking about the games Kevin. She doesn’t say anything useful or any standout quotes. Rowan has better character presence, even in Platinum.
The battles in journeys are too much like a battle in the games, the pokemon barely dodge and move in order many times so the battle between Ash and Steven was boring, i knew Steven would loose because Ash just had to win to battle Leon too so that didn't help.

In Recent Episode 119 Pokemon Journey , I Felt Like Pokemon Slept On Steven Strength.
Aside from battle, how great does he look. 😅💕 Probably one of the most handsome and cool looking character
Fr
I wish they would make a villain champion. He would be the shadow leader of the evil team. Maybe he created it just so he can be a hero.
Well, at least the closest we got is Volo, and there's not even a League during his time XD
The closest we've gotten in a long time is Malva; and, c'mon.
N is technically a champion since he defeated Alder in an official league battle. I know he's not "evil," but he's still the leader of Team Plasma.
Edit: Wait, you meant having the present Champion be the secret leader of the organization, in which case, N is kind of the opposite. Nevermind.
Closest ones we got are N when he defeated Alder in Black/White and Volo in Legends: Arceus.
Uhh. N?!
It's important to remember that plot armor is a thing. If pokemon journeys focused on stephen stone then stephen would win but this is all about ash and he'll end up battling leon and either winning or at least tieing with leon
Would have been funny if Steven was in Scarlet and Violet because of the terracrystalize mechanic
I just know the reason why I like Steven is because he was hard to battle, but a win against him was pretty rewarding. (i went in with a crappy team when i was a child, lol)
plus I had a crush on him. same thing with cynthia.
I’m wishing the champion in scarlet and violet is a female we need more female champions.
We have 3 in rows so 3 boys now
Why do you care so much
@@antonioiniguez1615 need to give the females a chance
@@thomasjohnson8391 it's a game my guy😐
@@antonioiniguez1615 yes I know
Ash vs Steven was pretty controversial lol.
I want Cynthia and Steven to get married. The union of the two most powerful champions. ❤
I remember when my lv 20+ Shedinja beating Steven's Metagross in Sapphire once Steven beaten most of my team.
Best looking male champion forsure
One thing to say...He is most handsome man in the anime 😍
How the hell is Leon ranked above Steven. Leon dresses like a 5 year old man child. Steven is actually charismatic, well dressed, and carries himself like a gentleman. Leon over here whipping his cape around like a toddler
Because at least Leon takes care for is region unlike Steven when Groudon and kyogre attack hoenn he wasn't no we're to be found
@@Alexgodofwar5662 In Manga he did. Much more than Leon
@@ludwig-alice manga anime and games are not the samr
I find his metagross in ORAS to be somewhat of a downgrade. Yeah it has a mega now and zen headbutt is good with Metagross. But why does it have two steel moves and Giga Impact? Just keep one and get rid of Giga Impact for better moves for example Ice punch or Rock Slide.
The Giga impact destroys so much, and bullet punch has priority. I think it’s a good moveset, but it could be better. If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it
In the manga Wallace won the league but didnt want to be champ leaving the title to Steven who came second
Don't forget Steven's Mega Metagross threw hands with Primal Kyogre in the anime, and did really well
The fact that Leon is #2 is disgusting. He's my least favorite of all time. Anyways, Steven is my favorite champion. I love his team as well as his role in the story of Gen 3. I was so surprised and invigorated when he turned out to be the champion. I'll never forget that feeling.

FSG: How GOOD was Steven ACTUALLY?
I think he should’ve lost to Steven bc he almost lost to iris but plot armor I assume Cynthia is gonna lose bc plot armor he won again a legendary tapu koko through plot armor like damn if he didn’t have plot armor he would’ve lost so many battles🙄
Nah ash is more stronger than the protagonist of each game expect red also ash doesn't have plot armor I don't know what you mean ash hater
@@Alexgodofwar5662 ash does have plot armour, pikachu loses to spritiomb in Cynthia battle leak but can defeat mega metagross with an ineffective steel type move? Yeah, plot armour
Love to see how Strong is Champion Iris 🥰
So strong he can snap me in half. And I’d let him. ;)
When I first played gen 3 he was the first difficult person I fought. And I like a good challenge
Well not hard to see where the writers got the master 8 roster from. All they had to do was pick which rival was going to represent blue as Gary was not going to take part in the masters 8.
Certainly my favourite champion
Same, but not Cynthia
Steven has to many rock types in his team, Mega Agron is a better choice because Metagross is already a great Pokémon by itself, Steven deserves a Flygon in his team.
Flygon is dragon/ground not rock
Love the video and keep up the great work
Yu should have considered pokemon masters EX also where he has a shiny mega raquaza
Can you please show me the Top ten non legendary ghost type Pokemon this week's Saturday? I want to know the Pokemon in the list
Why you didn't mention his B2W2 and ORAS Rematch Teams?
Why am I here? In short, I love Steven Stone
You know on paper he can demolish Cynthia. And Lance can demolish both of these 2 trainers with his best team
Gotta agree, Steven is a tough one. Gotta be wary of a battle with this guy.
Why is Leon that popular? Like, legitimately. As a Leon hater (and no, not because of his popularity) I certainly cannot see him in any possible positive light. Iris is more likable than Leon, and I don't exactly care for her either.
Has a cool design, more screen time than other champions, Charizard
@@everyonesidol9731 Debatable. Does nothing with it. Imo, a very overrated Pokemon.
Because Leon actually acts when the region is in danger unlike the other champions
@@crynosinso8324 leon literally went toe to toe with eternatus lol
How exactly do you get the teams for your best team videos?
Okay please tell me I'm not the only one who just found out he is the son of the owner of the Devon cooperation😂😭

He should've won, but in a deserving way.

They plot powered Ash to the win
steven stone is the chadsest of all chads in chadsville
Steven Stone is one of my favorite characters and my favorite Pokémon is Metagross
In the manga he had the ability to control SIX legendary Pokémon.
He is tough for sure. You think hey he is a "steel" trainer ima use fire. Barley any good fire in gen 3. Blaziken is weak im some way to all of his pokemon. For a region being full of water types trying to exploit that weakness is not guaranteed victory
It’s safe to say Steven stone dual type trainer
Steel and rock
He has 3 rock and 3 steel type Pokémon
And Aggron fits him so well
in Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire, i though Steven was Old man lol
That guy is soooo easy to beat.
So since Ketchum beat him
Is he weaker than Ketchum now?
Yes, even Cynthia will most likely lose.
bruh he just got wrecked first round of the champions tournament thooooo
Steven being defeated in the championship cup makes Ash the new Hoenn Champion?
He is my favourite Pokemon character 😍
Steven is better than Cynthia. At least he has a personality
Steven interacted with Ash how many times during the Hoenn journey? I recall like once.
Cynthia interacted throughout Sinnoh then met up in Unova. She had a much bigger impact on Ash's improvement. She always held people accountable. Steven was no where to be found when team magma and aqua fought with ancient legends threatening to destroy everything...we had Lance as a G Man
Champions are supposed to be role models for trainers, Cynthia did her job. Most of the others fail at this.
@@kevinzhang9591 Oh I agree.
If I was talking about the anime. I’m talking about the games Kevin. She doesn’t say anything useful or any standout quotes. Rowan has better character presence, even in Platinum.
@@kevinzhang9591 Leon doesn't fail at this Leon was defending the region when eternatus attack
I was strong enough to wipe out ash but plot armour 😏
The battles in journeys are too much like a battle in the games, the pokemon barely dodge and move in order many times so the battle between Ash and Steven was boring, i knew Steven would loose because Ash just had to win to battle Leon too so that didn't help.
Pls 🙏🙏 can you do a pokemon inclement emerald best team
Thank you 😊 for everyday videos
A better champion than Wallace
