I watched these movies at least a couple times a month as a child and loved them so much! As an adult they fill me with happy nostalgia. They were so simple, true to the spirit of the books and good-hearted.
As I watch Lucy and Susan fly on the back of AslanI cant help how much they look like the drawings in the books. This is one that goes on the cover of some editions as well. Good job on that creators of this series.
Susan and Lucy's relationship is one of the nicest things in this adaptation. In the book, there was no real emotional depth to any of the siblings' relationships, but here, Susan really is portrayed as the protective big sister, always looking after and comforting Lucy even when she is equally upset herself. It's really sweet to watch! :)
may not of liked this version because of how hard it tries to be word for the word for the book, but I do admire it for how it added it's line at: 6:35
The fact that Aslan sacrificed himself to save Edmund, despite not knowing if the deeper magic would work, illustrates that he is pure good and forgiving.....he was willing to be killed to save Edmund, knowing fully well he was risking not being resurrected.! This is what makes me love Aslan!
I love this adaptation. It actually oh, you know... made an EFFORT to stay faithful to the book it was adapting. It's funny how huge film budgets and actors who no one could call "fat" on idiotic youtube comments can't give a movie the artistry and faithfulness of this humble but adorable version.
Stort tack för att du lagt upp dessa. Har goa minnen från när jag var liten när vi spela in dessa från tv och tittade på dem flera gånger. Har dem nog på nåt vhs band liggandes nånstans =) De har sån känsla de här avsnitten.
I always thought the Lion was real, THAT IS AN AWESOME LION COSTUME it's so real!!!! :) I always loved this version it's the best one. it's so beautiful.
Were you all really expecting Arin's memory to be accurate? This is Arin we're talking about, the guy who claims to have beaten Ocarina of Time multiple times, then has to consult a walkthrough many times just to beat the main quest.
Let me get this straight here. You're telling me that BBC made Aslan to be a poorly stuffed lion with many gears and wires that can only move flap his mouth and move his neck and has a voice of man who sounds like he's spends too much time in the library (and probably stalks children too) that can also fly. 10/10 100/100 best Aslan!!!
I recently did a play of the lww and I played susan (my costume was very much like hers!) we did a very epic song and dance after aslan was resurected, it was called the lion leaps!!! it was fantastic!! i looked @ this scene for some inspiration on how to do this scene :) good version x
I am very much with you. Just look back at the fight between Peter and Maugrum. Plus, I think more people who do the stage versions of the book should watch this. There are so many ideas to be well adapted to a stage in here.
It's used as a tool, and that is what males nowadays movies great. Having a great tool like CGI which just improves everything but doesn't replace a good script, good actors, real emotions...
Jesus Christ, I remember seeing this when I was young? You surely did not bother with these effects, though I have to say, thank God technoqolgy has improved!
@HeathenMaiden I agree with you. This version is awesome.*Gives you a hug*.They at least try to follow the book and I think they did awesome job with it. Disney had computer animated characters and they might look better but Disneys version is done with today´s computers and programs, when at the time this version they did even have change to animate 3D characthers with fur. And I think those guys who played Aslan did awesome job.And how in heck you can check the lipsync from inside a lion?!?O_O
This one scene where Aslan arrives at the witch's castle with all the stone people is actually done better in this version than the new version. Here, it's more haunting and you get a real sense of Aslan's power when he changes the people/animals back to normal en mass with his breath. You understand how many he changed back and why this army helped turn the tide. In the new version, it only seems like there's a couple of stone people at the Witch's castle.
The slight mishap I think with the operation of Aslan is that Ronald pickup voice is slightly out of sync with the lion’s mouth movement But it’s very nearly in sync And the roar is in perfect sync
Is there a different version of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe? One where the "ride me" line is as intense as Arin Hanson from Game Grumps suggest it is.
@dormi87 They probably were restored. Lewis probably just forgot to mention that situation. Its likely that Aslan breathed on them after he left the Pevensies and narnians back at Cair Paravel.
Alrite someone please explain to me why she turns her own ghoul into stone at 8:08. I've never understood that since I was a kid. Is it explained in the book or something?

The scene with the statues was always my favourite part of the story.
aww, the ride me was really underwhelming Arin made it sound better
Yeah... but at least to see that flying Lion was funny enough to compensate.
As I watch Lucy and Susan fly on the back of AslanI cant help how much they look like the drawings in the books. This is one that goes on the cover of some editions as well. Good job on that creators of this series.
Gosh, this brings back a lot of good memories;D
I miss the Narnia series! I remember watching this every morning during Christmas:P
Game grumps brought me here lol .......... RIDE ME !!!!!!!!!!!!
Same
same
MrIlikepotato1000 RIDE ME!
My favorite books and movies as a kid! Loved Narnia! Thank you very much!
I'm sorry, but I just lost it when Aslan just took off flying.
But he’s a magic lion, he can do anything he wants.

It’s really sad that Susan never found her way to Aslan’s Country
"You're not dead Aslan".
No fucking shit.
RIDE ME!
That flying lions heavy breathing is really creeping me the fuck out.
may not of liked this version because of how hard it tries to be word for the word for the book, but I do admire it for how it added it's line at: 6:35
Very impressive of how they did this.
The White Witch: Stay silent....
really? Isn't that a bit hypocritical when all you do is scream at the top of your voice all the time? LOL
LOL. Of all the comments I read, this one wins. It made me almost fall off the bed laughing, which is very rare to do.
Please watch library assistant becomes savior for dog on TH-cam

wow, Arin made it seem more impressive
I agree, I was waiting for something more dramatic
I watched this in the sixth grade and I still love it
I always thought the Lion was real, THAT IS AN AWESOME LION COSTUME it's so real!!!! :) I always loved this version it's the best one. it's so beautiful.
Haha when I was younger I thought he was real too...I kept thinking to myself "How is it the actors aren't getting attacked?"
@HeathenMaiden You are welcome. I m so glad that you putted this serie on youtube. :)
Were you all really expecting Arin's memory to be accurate? This is Arin we're talking about, the guy who claims to have beaten Ocarina of Time multiple times, then has to consult a walkthrough many times just to beat the main quest.
Aaaaah Aslan is so cute and looks like fluffy big plushie
8:12 Old Man Pleasure Noises start, you'll hear them again when you try to go to bed tonight.
it's such an off feeling because Aslan is just mouth breathing while a man with a mic is reading some lines very quietly.
At least his roar is convincing…
I watched this back in 6th Grade
i dont know how any one can say this is better then the newer one .
I think These BBC Versons Of These Amazing C.S. Lewis Stories Have Got to be Re-Release On a DVD or Blu-Ray Box Set. Thumbs Up If You Agree With Me.
I agree, but I think they were, at least in the U.K.
Ride... on me 7:00 .
You're a life saver lmao
You da real mvp
The part we're they're flying on Aslan's back looks like the part of Half Baked where the dog is flying. A+ special effects!
The stone table cracking totally sounded like someone bowling a strike hahaha.
Love Narnia.
dammit arin shouldve been the lion instead
Is the only reason this video has views because of game grumps?
probably lol
Very impressive.
I recently did a play of the lww and I played susan (my costume was very much like hers!) we did a very epic song and dance after aslan was resurected, it was called the lion leaps!!! it was fantastic!! i looked @ this scene for some inspiration on how to do this scene :) good version x
What kind of roar is that? It's not loud at all, why are they covering their ears?
You know, knowing that in the future Susan becomes the LEAST interested in Narnia, seeing her all fucked up by Aslan's "death" is quite touching.
I am very much with you. Just look back at the fight between Peter and Maugrum. Plus, I think more people who do the stage versions of the book should watch this. There are so many ideas to be well adapted to a stage in here.

To be honest, with the witch's over the top acting, I'm surprised they were even thinking of surprising them.
Lord knows how ended here, right now, but OMG I lost it 😢😂😅😂😢
یادش بخیر بیست سال پیش از شبکه ۲ پخش می شد❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
8:09
Oh no! She killed Skeletor!
when they fly,I imagine Lucy saying,"Gee!I always wanted to ride a flying anamotronic lion!"
@HeathenMaiden I agree with you. This version is awesome.*Gives you a hug*.They at least try to follow the book and I think they did awesome job with it. What the fuck, when did the books give any indication that Aslan has the ability to fly like a goddamn airplane?
the acting is so much better in the new ones.
What a horrifying roar
This video is no longer working. Please put it back on!
it does?! I had no idea! Wow, Lewis is cool. I do that with characters in my stories, too! Where their names are relevant to who they are.
I came from Game Grumps. Not sorry.
+Jacques the Comic Was Arin exaggerating? (Maybe he meant the animated movie, where Aslan's voice sounds more confident and booming.)
+BagOfMagicFood No I actually just checked that version and it wasn't it.Man I wish Arin could show us himself LOL
In the animated version he also says: "Ride on me." I'm pretty confident that in the book it's also "on me."
he stepped on that branch and thus (she thought) gave away their position in this highly organized and strategic battle lol
I remember this from swedish television... Memories
I would recommend these movies to the guys from Rifftracks. I bet they'd come up with some side-splitting commentary!
I thought Aslan was peeing on the Narnians. The trickling of the fountain and him sighing in relief.
WE CRIED OUR HEADS OFF
the best thing a ever

True, though it’s more emotional in the film when Lucy sees Tumnus as a stone statue before she knows that Aslan can bring everyone back to life.
The slight mishap I think with the operation of Aslan is that Ronald pickup voice is slightly out of sync with the lion’s mouth movement
But it’s very nearly in sync
And the roar is in perfect sync
the stone figures are great :D
They had to open it with her running with the knife from the end of the last one. This has move into beautiful farce territory.
When is the RIDE ME!
At 7:00 but not as Arin said if thats what you were expecting
RIDE ME!!!
So who else is looking for Arin's enterpetation of RIDE ME!!!!
TheJoekingGamer me for hours I have scoured the earth
I think Arin meant the alternate dubbing of the 2005 The Chronicles of Narnia....
Lucy's teeth improve alot in the dawn treader.
That roar....Is that really all he could do? hehe
@dormi87 I always figured as he made his way through the wood he healed them or maybe when the children were crowned they were restored.
Thats some wicked breath Aslans got lol
This scared me when I was a wee child.
The Grumps have awful memories, this is like the I eat Kraffs thing all over again.
Arin made it seem way better than it actually was
@troubleinkw that was classic. had a good laugh reading that.
I did not mention her image. I wrote over-wrought, not over-weight. God.
Those two are so rude to mice... Also... RIDE ME
I see Lucy here, and I say, what... the... HECK!!!
amen brother.
ok, i have to ask: what the hell good are GHOSTS in a damn battle?
Alrite someone please explain to me why she turns her own ghoul into stone at 8:08. I've never understood that since I was a kid. Is it explained in the book or something?
@HeathenMaiden but doesn't he fly in the book & in the new moviee ?
in this movie aslan is more like in the book because in the book he is really big, in disney movie he is the size of a ordinary lion
I would ride on a lion's back like that.
"ASLAN!!! Your not dead Aslan!!"
I wish aslan went, "well... duh!"
@ButtaUsagi That's how Lions roar in real life usually
"RIDE ME!!!!" or "rrriiiiidddee meeee" I like Arin's version. like
oh hey flying lion that thinks before he speaks
I'm glad I live in america
Arin...how could you lie to us like this? 💔
1998 that is so long
i like the remake better than the BBC version. it's more dramatic and more detailed.
She wanted everything to be silent, but the ghoul stepped on a twig and she went mad....
Well then i didn't know aslan flew in the book!
You must RIDE MEH!!!!
why judge her image? she's a nice girl in this and also in real life. Aslong as her acting is good what dose her weight have to do with it
