    Excellent video. The 2 Castles look absolutely stunning working together. Its nice to see a steam special without a diesel loco coupled to the rear of the train.

      Agreed and agreed! They certainly put on a cracking display! I hope you enjoyed the video.

    Brilliant footage there, what a noise they both made! Regards, Dan

      Thank you very much Dan. Without question they made a cracking soundtrack. On both occasions during the day they sounded like roaring thunder. It was spectacular! I hope you enjoyed the video.

    Lovely video and great sound. Of course in Eastern Australia we wouldnt call 1 in 105 a bank ...

      They made an absolutely cracking sound. You can always count on a Western engine to make a proper racket! 1-in-105 sounds more like it's flat as a pancake in your neck of the woods! I'm pleased you enjoyed the video.

    I don't do train spotting, but these pics remind me very much of one summer when I saw the 'Cathedrals Express' pulling away from Oxford past Port Meadow. That was a 'Castle' and the cutoff was letting a lot of steam into the cylinders.

      I bet the noise was awesome! The Castles always make a good soundtrack. I hope you enjoyed the video.

    You made it pdq yourself from Fenny to Hatton!! Both great shots. Still don't know if 62 at Hatton is a record, but it must be close.

    • @Milepost90.25
      @Milepost90.25  ปีที่แล้ว

      The two shots were taken when the train was travelling in opposite directions. But if I had managed to get between the two faster than the train, that might also have been a record! I hope you enjoyed the video.

    That train was certainly worth turning out to see. I went to Oxford and Banbury for the return trip and was rewarded with a high speed run through Oxford as they were making up for time lost at an earlier PW. slack. That footage, plus the footage from Didcot Railway Centre is on my Channel if you'd like to have a look.

      I wanted to be able to see the Castles south of Banbury as well as at Hatton on the return. Unfortunately, seeing 45699 beyond Crewe during the day scuppered that plan. They were very good through Oxford. I hope you had a good day at Didcot for the Castle line up!

      @@Milepost90.25 I certainly did! But then, I always do at Didcot. It takes me back to my trainspotting days...

    Cracking video but just one question: how come 7029 is leading in the first sequence and 5043 in the second?

    • @Milepost90.25
      @Milepost90.25  ปีที่แล้ว

      The two shots were taken on the outward and return run respectively. 7029 led the outward run to Didcot, 5043 led the return to Birmingham. I hope this answers your question and I hope you enjoyed the video.
