Just picked the blue dail option for 89.99. Running fine, solid feel. Love the sapphire glass. Now, the movement runs fine, when adjusting dail it tends to try and jump a few minutes, not everytime but often enough. But after set it runs great. For the price point I couldn't pass it up. May upgrade movement if possible.
I passed on the MK1 mechanical because of feedback about dodgy movements. It is sad to a similar situation. I agree with your comment about a Miyota movement. 👍🏻
I like the looks and I am glad Timex is going in this direction. I wish that it had a better quality movement and Indiglo. Indiglo is, to me, the best reason to have a Timex. Timex has the brand strength to carve out a big piece of the watch market and add organic growth. This could be their first move and we might be seeing the first signs of market consolidation. Put a better movement in this watch and add Indiglo and you have a watch that would be hard to pass up. Microbrands should be paying attention.
If Timex makes a mechanical watch with a small battery or solar battery to power the indigo I think that would be one of the coolest watches of all time!
Another great vid man. I actually just got my long awaited Expedition Scout in the mail today. Also just found you on Instagram. Gave you a follow and binged on your pics lol
Same movement issue on mine. The second time I pulled the lug to reset the time, the lug and stem pulled all the way out and I was not able to set back. Sending this back for a replacement.
Mine is set to arrive tomorrow and I am looking forward to checking it out. Sorry to hear yours has a broken movement. Great review. 👍 I've subscribed.
@@Bruce.Wanye. great question. It could never compete with my other watches. The hand length bugged me too much. So it has mostly been sitting pristine in box. Sorry that's not more help.
@@halfpastblog thank you for the reply. As of now with budget of $190 and the features i think this is the best field watch i can get it though i might be mistaken
I have the Timex in white dial coming.. I had a Timex white dial when I was a kid. I loved that watch and wish I still had it.. If they would put a Miyota movement in this one, it would be better! Also I agree the hands should be longer and should have way better lume. Can't wait to get mine to see how accurate this Chinese movement is. I've heard it could be a Seagull movement.. If it's within +6-8s/day like my Fossils I'll be ok with it. The hack better work as it should or it will be going back..
Let me know how you like it when it arrives and how the accuracy is. I doubt you will have the hacking problem and Timex gave me a refund so no worries there.
@@JustWatches1 I got it…had it a few days. Looks to be about +8-10s/day or more…not horrible but a bit too off for me.. I’m either gonna take it to my jeweler and see if they can regulate it down a bit or I’ve been wanting to get into this hobby so might get caseback opener tools/Bergeon ball and see if I can knock it down a bit. Love the watch itself!. Looks great. Sorta reminds me of my childhood watch but of course a little nicer looking
@@JF-od4oi I was about to say the same thing. I have the 36mm solar version and the crown is securely screwed down... maybe he doesn't realize it needs screwed in... ?
you should screw in the crown..... turn it clockwise while pushing in and it will screw down against the case. There's no way it can pop out accidentally if you are doing this...
I’ve worn this watch every day for 3 years. I wish it did have a screw down crown. I wear it tight on my left wrist. I’m sure that isn’t helping the situation. The crown popped out 5 or 6 times in 3 years. It is a good watch otherwise.
@@jameswhitejr5291 OK so you don't have THIS watch then. This watch is new and has only been out a couple months and it does have a screw down crown. :-)
That 38mm is nice but with a lug to lug of 47.5, it wears like a 40-42mm. Example, the Orient Kamasu, a diver watch, is roughly a 42mm, but it's lug to lug is slightly less than this one. Same issue as the watch it imitates, the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical.
@@JustWatches1 That's absolutely true but that price difference between the two is probably justified with a better, more reliable movement in the Hamilton. Just my opinion.
Yes, I am fairly certain it is. I took apart the handwinding filed watch they released last year and they used a Seagull. Timex took it right back they have a great return policy.
I like it. But as with any mechanical watch, the big question is accuracy. In this case, I’m happy to report that the Field Post (and its 23-jewel Sea-Gull TY6DSK-1 movement) averaged just plus-6 seconds per day.
Thanks for sharing. Like the simple design and a solar-powered quartz design is a very nice option.
Keep 'em coming my friend!
Most welcome, thanks for watching :)

Wow, fantastic deal! Enjoy it!

Yes, hopefully they do something like that, otherwise, I think it might be good to just move up to the Hamilton that is very similar.

The hands jumping when you pull and push the crown would be an absolute deal-breaker. I'd definitely send that back!
For sure, I want this exact watch with a miyota movement!

Looks great? When I measure mine the lug to lug is only about 45.5mm
I may have mis_measured!
Seagull is a good movement
Miyota is already in the navi XL to get low price a Russian vostok or Chinese seagull is great.
Yes, they are definitely doing it to keep the price down. The Hamilton isn't much more though and has a excellent movement. Both are good!

Thanks for the review, love it, but need a better movement than that.
That is how I feel too!
Looks like my Hamilton Field Khaki. Which I love to wear. But half the price! Hell, I might get one of these as a gift or for myself.
For sure, wait for a sale, they happen often, and it will be even less!
The blasted case look, unguarded crown and strap makes the style top notch, but that lume and movement issue killed the watch chances.
Timex is SO close on so many of their watches! I think they sell really well however, so I don't think they are motivated to change.
👍👍👍 Nice 1
Thank you 👍
38mm..... Yessss
Right? Love that they are making watches this size!

I own a Seiko 5 SNKK31. It has a 38.5mm case, 20mm lug width and a lug to lug distance of 45mm. The perfect size watch in my opinion
@@JamesBond-rv1kk yeah that Seiko has great proportions.
Aooga, a snake pit……..
What did some kid in china assemble the movement?
Khaki killer
Yes, defintely a more affordable option for a similar watch.
no, khaki one is far better in quality even at that price gap
@@kwonpv Fair enough, I will have to get my hands on one to check out at some point.
Looks exactly like the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical. Dimensions are even basically the same.
Yes, not a super original design to be sure, but more affordable than the Hamilton.

Great looking field watch. The white is my first choice too. Too bad about your luck with the movement. I think it’s a Seagull under the hood.

The Chinese movement is a deal-breaker.
I agree, which is shame because most of the other details are great.
