kapital is a reliable source of fun, unique quality pieces that looked like nothing else on the market. once lvmh sinks their teeth in its gonna be shortcuts, quality cuts and kapital boutiques everywhere their wasn't one. Theirs a reason toshikiyo operated solely in Japan and marketed the brand the way he did for all those years and lvmh surely will not follow the traditions the brand has established for decades.
A fact is that the Japanese economy is in shambles, and yen is weak. Kaptial is popular outside of Japan and they need $$$ to hedge against the weak yen.
Very interesting, in that case do you think there will be a push to make Kapital more available at retail price or at other retailers to make up for how weak the yen is currently?
Already done with the brand. Used to be a massive fan but this sealed the deal. Might pick up a pair of the jumbo cargos before I call it quits but time will tell.
This isn't news to me, I've always known LVMH owned capital! And a lot of it, so much of it infact, that they've become a monopoly and recently acquired the brand Kapital. Wait-
I've been living in Japan for a quarter century and always thought it was pronounced like Kapital as in "Das Kaptial".🤷♂ Anyway...it'll be interesting. Their stuff can't get any uglier.😅
Kapital ain't popping off in Japan. It's only popular with US, Chinese, and intl consumers. Noobs saying RIP Kapital are just hypebeasts who wore BAPE before discovering boro jackets.
I certainly would not know how popular Kapital is actually in Japan and if that really is the case, I wonder how this acquisition will change anything about the brand
From what I hear it's unpopular with Japanese young people, which is obviously a problem for any fashion line (especially with how much of their range is aimed at young folks). I still see people buying the trendy stuff (i.e. truckers, skeleton shit, maybe a boro trucker), but I can understand why it's only really popular with middle-age folks overseas with so many options to choose from.
RIP Kapital Denim. Welcome Cotton Poly blends at double the price!
Praying for the best 🥲
Nooooooo 😩😩😩
I dont think there should be a monopoly in fashion

I can definitely see where you are coming from, I certainly hope that isn’t the case but if that does happen I would not be surprised in the slightest
Stock up kapital pieces now before the surge in prices. 😢
