I appreciate it man! Look for an electric lesson on Travis' leads for this down the road!

Don’t know how I missed this earlier, a great lesson as always! I never seem to seek out this song, but when it comes up I always think about how hauntingly beautiful it is, truly one of those deep Coheed gems..So much to unpack in this video! Dio,?!?! Right on man. Was that some “Blackbird” you briefly referenced when talking Mccartney/ Beatles? And what a steal on that guitar..... makes me want to get my Guild repaired since it’s got far less wrong but has been sitting in my closet for years waiting on a bridge repair....

Thanks man! Yea those 10ths have Blackbird written all over it. And if you got an old guitar in need of a repair don’t let it sit in a case, bring it back to life!

I don't know why people crap on this album. You're absolutely right.
And Rick, God bless you. Your ability to articulate has me thinking I could learn to play guitar from these videos with stuff I can jam to.

@@toobadimnotyourmom totally agreed! There’s great stuff on this album, thanks for watching. Pick up the guitar and give it a shot!

Youre teaching at the exact level i need. Im pretty new to guitar and am getting to grips slowly with the names of everything. I like the extra detail you go in to with certain parts and your passion shines through alot! Subbed.
I spent time learning the fingering for the intro a few months back, but just come to learn the rest of the song. Having trouble going from that to getting the plectrum in my hand. Do you have any tips? Ill try to learn it hybrid maybe.

Hey, thanks for watching! I’m glad you learned something, as for picking...I highly recommend getting as comfortable as you can with hybrid picking. It will open up new doors for your playing. First, practice playing 5 string open chord arpeggios (G major, Em etc..) by picking the 2 bass notes with your pick and then getting the 3 highest notes with your middle, ring, and pinky fingers. Have fun with it!

Knowing the names of the notes is interesting, but using that as instructions it makes it really hard to follow the lesson for someone who hasn't got all that memorized quite yet.
String number and fret number are so easy to follow compared to naming things by notes. I keep having to stop, rewind and rewatch each little piece while I figure out what you just said and did.
Appreciate the lesson, I just thought you might be interested in what it's like for a new guitar player.

Hey, I appreciate you watching my channel and the feedback! I completely understand where you’re coming from, and as a teacher (especially in my later lessons) took that into consideration and spelled out the note names as well as string and fret numbers
I would highly recommend making an effort to learn these notes though. It will unlock the fretboard and help you see patterns. Watch the video through a few times and try and see if that helps you lock in some note names and go from there. Keep me updated on your progress!

I've been working on just the first little part of this for the last few days now.
I know I'm making progress because I played it for a friend and he could tell what song it was.
I'm having to really work on executing the pull-offs cleanly without hitting the adjacent strings.
Thanks again for making the lesson and thanks for taking the time to read and reply to my comment.

It felt like you spent more time covering the power chords than the finger/hybrid picking patterns.
I really like your personality and vibe, but the tangential nature was a bit of a bummer too.
I think you gotta reign in the ADD a little and you'll be successful
