Great video, I've worked at Amazon 2 times and if I knew all the different types of jobs then I would never left. They have made onboarding much better.
I think Amazon would be a better company if they allow people to be more comfortable at work. Allowing people to feel comfortable, safe and a sense of belonging can make a huge difference.

I'm on my day 7 of working in amazon. I used to do out-bound wall building and some times water spidering for the first couple days. Now i'm a learning ambassador. I know, its crazy to get promoted that quickly but my tip is to work really hard but dont push yourself too much. Just do the hourly targets and be punctual. And the most important thing is to be friendly to people, If someone needs help, you should help them especially if one of the managers needs it.
I started working at Amazon and I’m someone who overthinks a lot lol so the only thing I’m wondering is how to even get started. I did my safety training and orientation and starting hands on work on Friday. I’m not sure what position imma be in or where to go as soon as I arrive.

Thanks for watching! From what I read in the comments it seems as though not much has changed. I’m not there anymore. I moved and there’s not one here.

I have very bad anxiety/social anxiety and I wanted to know if this is a good first job? i'm 18 straight outta highschool and want to find a not so social job that pays good.
Hey! so I worked at a sorting center this summer and I'm starting to work at a fulfillment center this sunday. I am also 18 and a college freshman, and I have no complaints about amazon other than it being kinda repetitive. You don't interact with people that much during shifts especially with covid. ( I used to work at a resutrant so its a major difference in social interaction lol) But I would highly recommend amazon. It pays really well for our age and is a great workout, is basically an automatic hire, and some places let you make up your own schedule. I wish you luck with whatever you do!
I recommend getting a job that gets you out of that anxiety. I was exactly the same way pretty badly until I worked at Olive Garden in the kitchen. Forces you to open up. Glad I did!
COMING FROM WALMART from the floor to management being ALONE is perfect. I HATE having to have my job rely on someone NOT DOIING THERES. Can't tell you how many times i would pull a 15 hour work day to come in the next night and only have to clean up after them again. NOTHING kills my motivation for work like being FORCED to clean up after another person. THEY WONT DO THEIR END and bitch the whole night while you pick up the slack. OH you came in a 4 am. There is 8 pallets of frozen in the freezer and the frozen dairy truck gets here at 8! GOOD LUCK! By yourself! This may be JUST the thing for me. I signed on for picker. 3 12's and to be honest. I am kind of excited.
I think walmart needs to improve there employee treatment to get them where they want for BOTH sides. Way to much adjustments(one sided af also), inconsistencies and incompetence that leads to uncertainty. I had to solve everything myself because of hollow managers who feel the need to put others under stress because they are stressed.
some trainers (learning ambassador as they call them) are very thorough. some just throw you in there and only help when a problem occurs. good thing is that the majority of the jobs are very simple. the work area is not clearly labeled, but it's typically very easy to learn. the difficult part is that it's very repetitive so it can get extremely boring. delivery stations on the other hand can be much more fast pace and demanding. your first week you're with your new hire group and trainer. they will tell you where to report each day.
Thank you so much my friend I really appreciate this video my career coach at the Department of Rehabilitation and also my counselors at Victor Valley College encouraged me to work at Amazon seasonal and then become a regular employee I thought it would be cool but I had no idea of what the day-to-day work consisted of they told me it's straightforward to be pretty much repetitive and honestly repetitive boring work with no to talk to you is right up my alley It's Like A Taste of Honey a breath of fresh air it feels like paradise the workplace of milk and honey I don't mean to be theatrical but I resigned from my Goodwill job because it was too much of a soap opera but this job like Amazon and other warehouses seems that it would suit me just fine I can even see your demeanors quite relaxed so I'm definitely going to go and apply for seasonal work with Amazon when the time comes man I look forward to it😊😊❤❤🎉🎉
Hi, it's been a long time and i forgot many of the step by step process. If you forget the SPOO and put the box on the conveyer belt it will go to the next area where the box will get rejected. you will not get credit for packing that box.
Ok Ive been at amazon for a month now and u have helped me with info more than anyone at my sight lol. Please let me know when does vacation accrue i just got converted to blue badge from seasonal and haven’t received it but in the papers i signed it mentioned it
I was working at Ford assembly (yeah I build bumpers) anyways, they were sooo strict and I decided to quit, I couldn’t handle my single mom life and working 12 hrs per day, didn’t even have time to spend time with my son so I left. I applied at Amazon flexible schedule, and the good thing I can choose when I want to work, 😎 so yeah that’s perfect for me 🙌🏻 my 1 st day is Tuesday
Im surprised that Amazon even allowed you to release this. At my facility, they are super strict about not wearing earbuds while working. Heck, im even surprised that you got away with having the camera inside the building as well.
What a piece of sht! I considered working at a warehouse during my studies. Amazon gives $1 more / hour than its competitive, but the competitive allows me to use headbuds! And its not crazy fast, you can take break whenever you want! I pass this one
If I decide to bring my own book bag does it have to be clear and transparent or can it be any color? Also will get in trouble if I decide not to use a locker?
@@momfromnj911 GL, hope you picked a good schedule because I butchered mine, working everyday except Wednesday with 3 doubles in a row, had to quit after about 2 months to save what was left of my legs, but now im working at wegmans part-time, 20 hours a week, kinda glad I did fuck up my schedule cus its way better here, worth the $2 decrease in wage, and all I have to do is splash water on dirty dishes
3:43 those original clippers bringing back the good old days when i met cool people. My first days and months. I got laid off recently. I worked there for 1 year and 2 months. I was always top 10 rate employees. But that doesn’t matter. Depending on certain days, you’d get a slow rate due to slow work or no supplies. In 2022, amazon was the slowest it’s ever been. They laid off many employees. It sucks a lot, because i know some people like me were hard workers as well. Now we gotta look for jobs to pay rent.
I only lasted there 4-5months. They don't let you talk to your coworkers or have any music playing.. physically not a hard job at all, but I noticed that my mental health crashed hard by the end of the 2nd month. I would've loved to be able to have at least one earbud in just to listen to something other than the loud machinery.
I'll bet the loud machinery is better than listening to Top 40 crap with the same playlist playing over and over every day with Taylor Swift and Katy Perry screaming their crap in your ear. I'd rather listen to machines droning and banging any day of the week. This beats retail I am sure.
is it difficult? I been working on retail it’s all I do but the store is closing and no one would hire me, I’m 20 and just dropped out of college bc you know money, so I’m worry I won’t be able to do the job
Sorry to hear that. Yes I understand your situation. I have done retail most of my life. Most of the job in the fulfillment centers are easy. There’s a lot of standing for long periods and lots of work without without socializing. You can always apply and give it a try. If you don’t like it you’re able to resign straight from the Amazon A to Z app. If you desire you can reapply for a different position or location. one of my trainers was straight out of high school and it was her first job so it’s it difficult. Try it. $15-$18/hr is a lot more than most retail will offer. Also, no dealing with angry customers! Good luck!
i think every position that i saw in the warehouse is working without socializing. if you're an introvert it's definitely a gig to check out. packing, stowing, induct, rebin, picking.
OMG thank you so much for this information. I am going to start next week. I am not really nervous about new things, just concern that I am not going to do my job well.

i started off seasonal too and after 30 days i was offered a regular position. take the position and see where it leads. perhaps you could get a regular position before your seasonal contract is up too.
not that i know. more than likely they will tell you to resign and reapply for a different shift. they're not very accommodating. but it's worth asking the HR office. there should be an HR office in your warehouse
Hello, great video ~ Does Amazon require back-to-back 12 hour shifts only or are you allowed to work standard, 8 hour shifts? I've heard stories of people having to work 3-4 days in a row of 12 hour shifts and that seems very physically demanding. I am 57 years old and wonder if I'm allowed more days of work in a given week but with shorter shifts; so am I allowed to do that ~ (???) Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Typically it’s 2-4 days a week with longer shifts. During the application process you will see exactly what shifts are available, and the total hours a week. You basically select your schedule during the application process. Watch my part 1 video to see how to apply. from my experience The only Amazon location with short hours are Whole Foods.
The position that I just applied for in Warehouse Shopper/Team Member. I used to work as a Seasonal Amazon Prime Shopper at Whole Foods last year. Working at whole foods allowed you to have one headphone in to listen to music and shop around in the grocery aisle and pack the ambient, frozen items up and put them in the right location so that way the Amazon Delivery team can pick it up delivery the items. Being a seasonal amazon prime time shopper, I was basically the middle person before the delivery team delivers everything. How is it as a Warehouse/ Shopper Team Member? Am I still going to be shopping around like I was at Whole Foods? I'm in New York City btw. Is there any difference with these positions? Thank you for your response in advance!
honestly, i never worked at the whole foods division. from what i have seen the whole foods position near my area only offers 1 day a week/flex hours. where i work it was called Amazon Fulfillment Center.
@@FinanceFaithFamily Thank you for responding. I'm assuming the Warehouse is basically like the Amazon Fulfillment Center. How are the shifts? Can you work four five hour shifts at a time? Or does it have it to be 8 to 10 hours? Can you choose to make your own schedule at the Amazon Fulfillment Center?
@@realizenreality most shifts i have seen are 9-10.5 hours . I am part time. i only work 2 days a week. 20 hours a week. it doesn't change. you select your shift during the application process on Amazon Force. check my Amazon Part 1 Video for how to steps and link.
I applied twice for this position and was turned down. Didn't seem like any special needs were needed and my schedule was fully open. Now I'm at Amazon. Was there anything you feel would help next time I apply? Lol at least now I can say I have warehouse experience
So I recently got hired and my first day is the 20th, I was told at the hiring event that I’d be making 17.20 an hour for overnight premium but the emails about my hiring say that I’ll be making 16.70, who would I take this up with on my first day?
You didn’t see any additional numbers in the offer letter next to the words “shift Differential (if applicable)”? Also when you originally applied for the position did you see that it showed $17.2? I would call HR. Log back into your Amazon force and the HR number should be at the bottom.
Hey man quick question, would it matter if i took my breaks at times, for example, my breaks are usually at 10:30 pm and everyone else leaves for break at 10:00 pm and there is no work for me, would it affect me clocking out for my breaks early 30 minutes with everyone else?
Ask your area manager. I’ve seen it where a few people come in during a mid shift so their breaks differ. The manager gives them work while everyone else is on break. Now if you’re not doing anything while everyone is on break then yeah they can get you in trouble for time off task (TOT) which can be termination. So be sure to ask your manager!
@@FinanceFaithFamily in your area would you get in trouble for taking a break earlier than what your original break time was? Since mine is at 10:30 and everyone elses is at 10:00 i want to take it the same as theres just so i dont have to worry about just standing there lol
Yeah we would get in trouble. Quite a few times I see people leaving to lunch 3-5 mins early and the managers will make an announcement telling them we have to leave at exact time.
Just subscribed to your channel. I really enjoy the Sugar family! Congrats! questions: 1) if you can’t or shouldn’t carry your phone, when do you know your times for paid or unpaid breaks? 2) iHow loud is the warehouse, say for a person who has a hearing problem and where her hearing device is not suited for spaces that have continual incessant noise level? 3) are you still working at amz, and if not, how did it prepare you for your next stage career work?
1. you can have your phones in your pocket. the area manager will tell you the break and lunch times. it's the same time every shift. 2. it's not loud, but there are area's where there's a constant sound of air flow. like the air flow sound by the entrance of grocery stores, that blocks the bugs from coming in. when you speak to someone standing next to you there's no need to yell. 3. i left last year in december. The area i'm in now does not have a warehouse nearby. it helped me to be humble, i truly appreciate the opportunity and experience. I knew it's not something I wanted to do long term and helps me understand how the process works whenever i buy something on amazon. it's definitely not for everyone, but it's not a bad job as some may say. just different.
The same thing happened to me it was showing that there were no shifts available but turn your email notification on and also sign up to receive text messages about when they have an opening because I thought I was going to be waiting for six months like my brother did but they just emailed me with a start date the other day I didn’t even have to choose my start date they might do the same for you
I live in Texas and they are about to open a new one. I do not want to get the covid shot. Do they make you wear a mask even if your state says you do not need to?
Absolutely. If your rate is good or even decent the system will send you an email saying you’re eligible for conversion. I received the email after 30 days.
That’s awesome! Are you in a fulfillment center or delivery station, or something else? Great time to come in because no one else is hiring during the holidays.
@@FinanceFaithFamily I am gonna be operating a forklift and I will also be packing and unpacking boxes apparently, ima be started out 15.50$ a hour and 10 hour shifts 4 days a week, and also, 6:30 PM - 4:30 AM
Thanks a bunch! I'm going to do a few more, one about paychecks, one in detail about each of the jobs (pack, rebin, induct) and tips on how to better your rate. if anyone has suggestions please feel free to let me know.
My first day is coming soon sometime in December. I have a question regarding foods. Can I leave the foods & water I bring to eat during lunch/break outside in car and go grab them during break or must I put them in the locker? Also, how many minutes is break/lunch?
you can bring a water bottle with you. you receive 2 breaks, 30 minutes each. one of the two breaks is a paid break so you don't have to clock out. during your break yes you can go to your car. i would recommend just putting your food in the cafeteria refrigerators which is what most everyone does. many times the warehouse is so enormous that it would take you 5-10 minutes just to walk to your car.
most of my tips are in my amazon experience playlist. as for quick tips here in the comments. stay humble, learn from others, help when you can, wear casual comfortable clothes, wear sneakers, pay is on fridays, every friday. have a great first day!
I just started today and we were stowing items all day. I was kind of interested in operating some of the machinery like forklifts and other stuff. Is there a way I can be put on that stuff or do I have to transfer departments?
if you are a blue badge you can put in a request to change jobs. the job has to be available in order to transfer to a different position. i would try calling HR and see how it's done. i've never done it myself but i've seen people move to different departments .
I work in retail and customers bother you constantly. This sounds like dream job compared to some maskless Karen constantly asking me where the sugar is.
I worked retail(Kohl's and Target) for 12 years, I got tired and burned out with dealing with customers. Now I've been working at Amazon Fresh warehouse for 3 years and like it.
Thank you for the information, in your work, did you do different things every day and in different places, or did you do the same thing every day in the same place?
many will do the same thing every work day, in the same location. my area had 3 jobs, i would do 1 of the 3 jobs every 3-4 hours. sometime i would do 1 job the whole day. the jobs were all at the same warehouse. it will get repetitive and boring at times. majority of the work is simple and easy.
After you apply if you want to change shift or jobs you’ll have to be a blue badge. You can change shift straight from the A to Z app once you become blue badge. As far as I know in the fulfillment centers 4-5 hours don’t exist.
No mention of the mandatory (MET) overtime? That actually violates labour laws here in Canada. An employer can't force you to work over 40 hours a week unless you agree to it. I was just handed a revised contract stating that there will be MET at my site.
from my experience during the holidays and during the week of Prime day is where MET pops up. if you're a full timer, they want you to work 1 extra day (on top of your regular 40 hours week). also we would come in 1 extra hour early in the morning too. so if you were scheduled Sun-Wed 7AM-6PM, during holidays and "peak season" we would have to come in Sun-Wed + 1 extra day 6AM-6PM. hope that helps.
its an area called AFE (outbound). the positions are packing, induct, and rebin. 3 jobs in this area. easiest is induct if there's 2 people, but crazy boring and isolated. i personally like packing best.
@@FinanceFaithFamily thanks for the response! This is at the fc facility right? I start April 2. I remember in this vid or another video that you said blue badges get drug test.
Nice work!
I started working at Amazon and I’m someone who overthinks a lot lol so the only thing I’m wondering is how to even get started. I did my safety training and orientation and starting hands on work on Friday. I’m not sure what position imma be in or where to go as soon as I arrive.

@erin Nicole This would be a great first job for anyone. The job doesn’t require much human interaction. $15/hr for a first job is great.

Oh man, I know exactly how you feel. Let me be by myself!!
How is it going??
Same here
I think walmart needs to improve there employee treatment to get them where they want for BOTH sides. Way to much adjustments(one sided af also), inconsistencies and incompetence that leads to uncertainty. I had to solve everything myself because of hollow managers who feel the need to put others under stress because they are stressed.
I'm at walmart too I'm thinking about jumping ship. I prefer not interacting with too many people
Do they train well? And are your daily work areas clearly laid out to you? I’m worried that I’ll be confused as to where to go in such a big place
some trainers (learning ambassador as they call them) are very thorough. some just throw you in there and only help when a problem occurs. good thing is that the majority of the jobs are very simple. the work area is not clearly labeled, but it's typically very easy to learn. the difficult part is that it's very repetitive so it can get extremely boring. delivery stations on the other hand can be much more fast pace and demanding. your first week you're with your new hire group and trainer. they will tell you where to report each day.
Thank you Boss
Thank you 🙏🏽 God bless you and your family 😌

Now we gotta look for jobs to pay rent.
sorry to hear that, i hope you find another opportunity soon!
You’re absolutely right.
I'll bet the loud machinery is better than listening to Top 40 crap with the same playlist playing over and over every day with Taylor Swift and Katy Perry screaming their crap in your ear. I'd rather listen to machines droning and banging any day of the week. This beats retail I am sure.
Why tf can't you have an earbud in stupidest rule ever

is it difficult?
Good luck!

@@realizenreality most shifts i have seen are 9-10.5 hours . I am part time. i only work 2 days a week. 20 hours a week. it doesn't change. you select your shift during the application process on Amazon Force. check my Amazon Part 1 Video for how to steps and link.

Thank you so much for this helpful and informative video!!
sure thing. thanks 4 watching

That sounds great bc I already talk to myself

What Postion are you doing in this video and what Postion do you think is easiest

Hi is there a way to work only 4-6 hours daily here? Like as a 2nd job? :) I work as a packager in germany with direct contract i make around 2000 euro/month for 8 hours and 3 shifts but would be nice to find a 2nd smaller job that i can use to get money.
not at the fulfillment centers that i have seen. there are 4-6 hours shifts at Amazon Whole Foods.
How does that make any sense? 5:10 they're expecting you to go at a slower rate with one item 😮
i've been working at amazon as a packer for about a week now and i still don't know my manager 😭
Very common. I didn’t know mine. Then when I found out who they were, they end up quitting or fired.
Thank you bro for this wonderful video. 👍🏽 I’m a new subscriber!
Thanks 🙏. I hope it was helpful
I've got my first shift tonight 🙌 nervous but its a new chapter starting now so hopefully all goes well
you will be fine, have a good one!
@@FinanceFaithFamily thank you ! I did enjoy actually was much more straightforward than I thought also have music playing through the warehouse helped calm the nerves
Lol I’m a dude and I’m gonna have to tie my hair up I don’t think that’s gonna be fun all night😂
@@taliban223ms3 you can wear hats in the warehouse
@@FinanceFaithFamily hey I’m a package Handler is it Similar to the job your doing? I start next 2 weeks
Can you clock in early?
a few minutes is okay but they're pretty strict on their times.
@@FinanceFaithFamily hey thanks for replying! I started on Oct 8. When they told me you can only clock in five minutes early i kept thinking about your response lol. So far the work is alright but kind of boring. Just wish it wasn't so gloomy inside. I work around a bunch of people who speak mainly Spanish. So it feels really awkwards at times. Other then that, it's just one of those times you say "hey, at least I got a job".
Can you change some details of witholding tax form using the A to Z app?
you can through A to Z and in the pay tab it will connect you to ADP. you can make changes in ADP. check out th-cam.com/video/KEY08afofOs/w-d-xo.html
Yes, you can do just about everything you need to with atoz
Hey so I got a email and it said to go at 9:30am but my shift starts at 7:30am it’s 24 hrs before my first day do you got any idea which time I should go
your first day will be different time from your normal schedule. in your case your first day is at 9:30am. after your first day, you'll go back to your normal schedule at 7:30am.
Hippos have feelings too
The thing is it acc doesn’t sound to bad 😂
That’s what warehouse jobs are lol robot work
Love it, I'm a loner by nature lol.
For some people, that’s great
Tell me about it. I just hope they don't move you around too much that would be shit. I applied to be a picker. I want to just pick i hear they move you around alot to cover...ugh
