- If you're new to town, many words may seem difficult to pronounce but they are second nature to us. Matt Adams and Katrina Tulloch hit the streets to ask people which words they had a handle on and if they had a difficult time with any, we gave
idk why but it's so frustrating hearing them pronounce it wrong.

I was waiting for Honeoye, Susquehanna, Keuka, Oswegatchie, Erie, Adirondack Mountains etc. Even though most of them are lakes or rivers (From a person who lived in Honeoye Falls)

I'm from CNY and I never heard of Honeoye. How do you pronounce it? Is it like Honey-O-EE or Ho-Noy?

That's my home town...born, raised and quickly left when i reached adulthood. I pronounce it: Zero-cuse....because that's the average temperature (hence the reason i moved to a warm southern climate).

Pompey really pronounced Pom-pee? I'm from Central NY and I always thought it was Pom-pay.
Even in Skaneateles no one can agree on the pronunciation. I've seen "SKAN-ee-atlas" and "Skinny-at-last" and "Sk-natles". The most common is "skinny-atlas"
