Duuude! Great video. Taught me a thing or two. I usually use Metamorphosis Fairy to start getting Link in impossible ledges around his house with the bunny, and this is what first showed me how I could get stuck halfway through a screen and lead to the auto walk.
I was hoping you'd go a bit farther with certain areas like the ledges below the desert, or going above the clouds in the mountain.
I've found that if you access certain areas that don't exist on the map of the overworld, most notably the "end of the world" where you hit the farthest barrier at the edge of Hyrule, one of three things happens.
    1. You wrap around the world to the other end.
    2. Almost the same, except you trigger an infinite scroll despite the transition being performed normally, rather than walking into a wraparound barrier.
    3. You get sent to an odd different world, like an "invalid" screen or something.
This is the most interesting one to me. I say different world for two reasons: one, it changes the map (sometimes) into an infinite green or black zone (by using Link's blinking coordinate as a reference I can tell that this map doesn't have any scrolling boundaries, you can just keep going, not that there's anything to see).
Two, the area is infinite. It just never stops going and going. Now, this is very difficult to see without a particular game genie code...
    07C0B8FF
(If you try and it doesn't work, let me know and I'll research it again, I may have inputted it wrong).
This code allows Link to walk through walls and objects vertically, only outdoors.
Now, about these "end of the world" areas (good name for them in my opinion)...
I don't understand what kind of enigma these things are. While sometimes they can look like normal screens you've seen before, like somewhere in the corner of a large area in the overworld, you'll not really be there, and can have Link enter an infinite scroll or even pixel-warp the screen and black out the game, just by tapping the dpad in the wrong direction, even if you've already gone in the opposite direction first a few steps (like certain directions are forbidden).
But other areas are much more strange, the ones that give me the true "end of the world" feeling I'm describing here. They try to mimic locations in the overworld that you can access through normal means, most often in the Lost Woods and around the Master Sword pedestal. However, I've occasionally run into a couple other places too, not that I can remember them all.
They resemble odd glitched, empty "phantom" versions of the real place. The Lost Woods may appear foggy and mostly normal, or it may be a brown "dead" looking version of the real thing with glitched pixels here and there. And the Master Sword pedestal is graphically glitched as well, with no animals running around, no sword sprite (whether you got the sword or not) and, if you use the code I provided above, you'll be able to go through all the odd invisible barriers up and down, and see that the screen, after eventually ending on a large flat colored plot for a short distance and long vertical lines, repeats itself. This whole area will vertically loop over and over no matter how long you walk up or down it. But move left or right in the wrong spot and Link will either scroll infinitely or he will pixel-blackout and basically lock up the game as there is no valid location to warp him to (the music may or may not stop when this happens).
One more thing, even weirder. I have a code that enables using the Mirror in the light world without having to worry about stepping into a portal, but in this end-of-the-world zone, it doesn't work. Instead, after pressing the Y button, Link's sprite will become graphically glitched; his body will be frozen, his head will only face up or down and may become horizontally flipped, and when he walks, his shield will change locations and his whole sprite sort of trembles all over the place.
Basically just a complete acid trip. Have you ever encountered this monstrosity?

definitely bookmarking and thumbs up this video so i can find it again. this is the 1st game i ever played as a wee lad, and just started messing around with the exploration glitch trying to see how far i could get without saving zelda. which led me to find out its actually a speed run type called max% max rain% or something. in turn led me here, to you. my savior!
you do a really good job of explaining how most of these can be done. also the input visualizer helps a lot on the tricky ones. ill probably never do actual speed runs, but you gave me more things to do for fun in my already favorite game.

Great video. I remember the oldschool tricks from my childhood. Some I actually found on my own but the community wasnt as strong as it is now so I never thought anything about it. I've always tried finding glitches because I wanted to be a bug tester. I wish I perused that dream.

I found some anomalies with this glitch too, made easy by using a game genie code allowing vertical clipping in the overworld.
Did you ever run into "phantom" locations, like areas that looked similar to the Lost Woods or the Master Sword clearing but massively glitched, and could lock up the game if you went in the wrong direction? Good God these things are everywhere.
I have a similar glitching it up attitude for Mega Man II on the Gameboy. I figured out a buttload of funny stuff you could do with the game, but hardly anyone remembers or likes it, so I'm mostly in the dark here (although someone here posted a screen warping video of it and referenced my old account as finding it so that was cool :)

    19:35 Blue Power Ranger didn't stand a chance :'(
Nice tutorial, loving these Major Glitches videos. Back when you showed dashless DMA, I thought you could only do it that way. Just now I started understanding that you can dash buffer pretty much all the overworld clips.
If I'm not able to finish the weekly randomizer this Saturday, I might just sit down later and explore with clips, assuming I have boots (select buffering is hard).
Thanks and have a good day.

Just fall through the floor in the castle, exit and go back to where the guards tell you to go home. Then you can cause a screen rift and travel places. You can even enter the desert and get the titans mit without needing the book before you ever take the princess back to the cathedral. In fact i glitched it out and got the cape and you can use it to circumvent the electric field on the castle door, fight agihnim without returning the princess using the bug catching net and get stuck forever in the dark world without a moon pearl. I've been glitching this game for like 25 years lol

You could do the same dash buffer glitches to dark world walls like dark world mountains I do it

Do you know why the guards are sometimes orange? Like the one at 26:55.

Palettes don't always reload completely when you move between screens certain ways. In this case using the flute to travel didn't full unload the palettes from the previous screen, thus turning the guards orange. It's green guards who are most vulnerable to this kind of glitch and most are not present after agahnim is defeated in a normal playthrough.

When I try this so-called dash buffering, Link keeps sliding diagonally along the walls, he won't clip. Need a clearer description & demonstration as to what button presses are involved.
