I love seeing your pages in these books, they are just so much fun! Kamelyia Angelkova is one of my very top illustrators, they are just so cute!! I would love to see you color more of these on camera if you get the chance! 😊
If you want to try something different, especially in the more detailed books, I've successfully used waterbased media (neo/inktense/watercolor pencil) with alcohol blender on Amazon paper. Gives a completely different look than alcohol marker. It is a bit different than using water, it doesn't move around nearly as much, so be sure to lay color down where you want it and pay a bit more attention to your transitions before you bring in the blender. It's actually a lot easier to control once you get the hang of it.
@@Mrsbooklover Thank you!! No, I don’t spray my pages. Even the ones I use pastels on. I probably should, but I’m just too lazy and most of the time there isn’t too much chalk on the page so it mostly stays put. The only time I use a fixative is when I use a water medium under the pastels or if I use pan pastels because those move around a lot. But otherwise, I don’t.
These books remind me of 2 90s coloring books I had. They had such cute baby animals. I remember the first one my mom and I created a cute alphabet and number chart. And the second one never colored in I would just trace the pages into plain paper to colors I wish I could find those books again.
Hi Erica, it was so fun seeing your amazing collection & you’ve colored so much in them! I especially love how you draw in your own bits, and they work seamlessly! Beautiful pages & so inspiring as always! ❤
Hey Erika, thanks for showing this collection! I currently have none of her books, but I've just added a tonne to my wishlist for one day haha. They are gorgeous and look like the perfect cozy colouring for when you want to have a bit of colouring but not a hugely detailed page! I LOVE the way you customise the final book, it is stunning and I definitely am hugely inpsired to try something out like this! Thank you so so much for sharing
@@waymire01 I mostly like the clear “colors”. There are several to choose from with different color glitter in each one. My favs are twinkle and diamond, I think.
Her eyes really bugged me when I first started coloring her pages... I also started not only using a darker color instead of black, but coloring one of the highlights a coordinating color to the rest of the eye, and it really made them look more normal.
Hi Erica. Love your Kameliya Angelkova collection. I absolutely love your finished pages, they are so cute and adorable. The way you add things to the pages is so creative and inspiring. Seeing you work in her books inspired me to get some and I love them! I have most of her mandala books and about 5 of her miniature books. I actually managed to complete 2 of the mandala books. Take care and thanks for sharing.
@@SKYsLOUNGE Thank you!! This is definitely a good alternative then. I think those matchstick mouse books are cute, but I know I’m going to want them all, so I haven’t purchased any of them yet.
I have some of her books and they are favorites. I just ordered the 50 Halloween Miniatures with the black background for $5.99 on Amazon! TFS your beautiful pages.
Your work in these books is just beautiful!! ❤ and I guess because some of these are older I hadn't seen them as much, but 50 marvelous dragons and 50 Halloween mandalas - you may have sold me on!!! they are amazing.
I find your creativity when colouring kameliyas artwork so inspiring 😍 it’s going to be such an amazing achievement to have a full book of hers completed one day! You can see from the end results just how much fun you have colouring them 😍💕
I don't care for mandalas, but I adore her Seasonal mandala series. I wish she would do more in that style. They have just enough mandala, with the lovely scenes inside. I also have her Seasonal mini series. I've considered the Seasonal fairy houses. Her books are really the only seasonal coloring I do, and I rotate through them during the year. I really like a lot of her other minis (jungle, farm, etc).. but have restrained myself.. with 50 pages in each I already have a ton to work through. I do color in her books on a regular basis, one of my most often colored artists... and have hardly made a dent. I wish the minis were smaller books... I know I would color a lot more of them if they were, and considering how fast she puts them out it would be easier to keep up. I just feel like there is a lot of wasted space on that page, and sometimes the elements in the design itself are just really large, they could be 25-50% smaller no problem. I can't just leave them flat, I have to go in there and shade/highlight everything, put in the fur, etc. They look really simple, but are beautiful fully rendered.
Absolutely gorgeous Erica. I always feel so inspired when I see these pages you have done ❤

Great pages Erica, thanks for sharing. Question please, do you spray all your finished pages with a fixative or only the ones with pastels on them?
