Matt LaFleur is unbelievably good at game planning and putting the team in the best position to win. For real, look at the success versus the roster and ask yourself if another coach could have gotten close to the success he's had. Plus - he's so handsome.
His halftime adjustments as well are seemingly much better this year.
The roster is great, better than any roster Rodgers ever had
He's also always talked about how it's not just players that need to improve, but coaches - and I really think he takes that to heart and has improved as a coach over his tenure. He's definitely one of the best coaches in the league.

Dont get me wrong, the young guys are all right and have lots of potential.. but Rodgers literally inherited a roster damn near full of pro bowlers that just came off an NFC championship game appearance and only got better with the addition of Clay Matthews.
Was there a talent drought after the SB win when a bunch of those vets retired or moved on? Sure, but that doesn't change the fact Rodgers still had one of the most loaded rosters in GB history for the first 4 years of his career (2008 - 2012.)

This is exactly what Malik wowed with at college - it was Chris Simms who said he wasn’t that it wasn’t his speed that got him good rushes, but he was one of smartest running QB’s at organising blockers and gaps

As a titan fan I'm happy for Malik. Physically, you can't name 5 qb's that is more (physically)gifted than Willis. Now he's in a functional organization with a competent qb room he can actually grow. Worst case scenario for him is that GB signs him to a lucrative back up deal. Best case is that at the end of the season GB trades him for top 100 pick and he can have a prove it year on his final rookie contract year.
Worst case would be trying to change him to a "Slash".
Green Bay isn't the type of organization to pay big for a backup QB. It would be contrary to the last 30 years. I think there was a year or two when Favre was older and Doug Peterson was more like a same age peer in the locker room for him.

They certainly are a respectful bunch of fellas compared to the toxicity you see in places like Dallas and with the 49ers and aiuk, seems lately the character of the players has been as important as their skill with recruiting.
Meaning aiuk is toxic and cowboys players too, they're all on social media talking trash about each other and the team and pay etc. Things you don't see in green bay, blaming each other or whining. You do see consistently competitive teams for decades

It’s really fun seeing what Matt can do with a running quarterback, this whole extra dimension makes his play calling even more lethal than it already was.

The same Henry that outplayed his contract by far. The same Derrick Henry that has been the offense for the past 5 years. Lafleur and Malik are extremely good. Willis also an extremely good quality person❤🙏👍
The guy clearly adjust the offenses to his qbs strengths.
Willis has been successful not just because Lefluer has dumbed the offense down a bit, but because Lefluer is playing to Willis's strengths. Willis probably isn't going to win you a Super Bowl, but if you call plays to his strengths, he can be a top 5 backup in the league and likely start on a handful of teams.
He didn’t play like a back up , the kid can play if people develop the QB like they’re supposed Levis wouldn’t have been drafted.
Well dumbing down isn't (shouldn't be) about being simplistic but being selective about what you leave in.

@@sa1168 Lucked? I’m certainly not against calling drafted QBs “luck”, it seems to be a crap shoot when it comes to drafting good QBs. But it’s not just Love, he drafted our entire offense outside of Jacob’s and they are all paying dividends. Like I said, in Gooty I trust.

A lot of my friends were already sinking the Packers (we're not Packers fans btw), and they thought I was nuts saying hold up a minute they can get some of these, but even I didn't think it would be like this.
Ironically when Love went down (before the other teams had played) I thought if we'd get one of the next 3 it would be the Vikings based on how I thought their season would go. I think that the NFL is getting harder and harder to predict. Seems like any team can have an off game/stretch and some teams can absolutely come together for a stretch, if not the season. Any team can beat any team depending on context it seems.

It's a very competitive league this year. Playoffs may have some shockers.
IMHO Matt LaFleur is a top 5 mind in football when it comes to developing game plans. You see it in most games the first quarter is usually so good. I think the only spot he could truly improvement in clock management/in game decisions. We blow a TON of time outs every game on what seems like mental mistakes, or some type of overly cautious actions. It also seems like sometimes he lets the air out of the momentum to try and play "smart ball" when sometimes i feel like we should be running up the score to a spot that starters could sit early. I get why hes done it before, but i think most packers fans have PTSD from Mike McCarthy blowing games in the 2nd half playing too passive (seahawks nfc championship game). Personally i like it when we press the foot on the gas when things are working vs trying to play only clock management. MLF is very much in the running for COTY though and he deserves it. The way he turned around this team during that very low season when McCarthy was fired midseason is a testament to how good he is as a leader and how smart he is to get the most of out every player on our team.
Cutting down the teams penalties is the #1 area I think he could improve on, but I'm nitpicking. He's a damned stud.

Willis in the Wildcat
Wouldn’t be good to run with how defenses are built, they’re better suited to chase the wildcat now than they were like 16 years ago when Miami was running the wildcat.
Better off just putting Willis in there for a few snaps at Qb and keep running the Read Option. At least gives Willis a choice of what to do with the ball and forces the D to guess and make quick decisions.
Packers are also winning WITHOUT a TIER 1 Superstar. Might make you think twice about shilling out these huge contracts. It’s very impressive.
I been waiting since he was drafted for Malik Willis to get some respect. Now we need Kenny Pickett to make a bounce back and my draft predictions for that draft will be right 😂😂

Eh, Hill is a bigger guy, possibly faster with better ball skills too. (Willis _reportedly_ ran a 4.37 years ago, but he doesn't look that fast)
Probably a good idea though. They have him on the roster. Draw up some plays. Important thing is to make sure he can catch, because if he can't that severely reduces his utility

Willis _reportedly_ ran 4.37 as a sophomore, not "out of college". There is nothing to suggest he runs faster than Parsons, who actually got tested by professionals. How you could be "certain" is a mystery. Personally he doesn't look that fast, but taller people often look slower.

When it keeps happening over the course of 32 years....maybe there's something more to it than luck. Too many teams out there have owners without professional football pedigree, who treat their teams like their own personal playthings.
When Malik had to fill in for the Titans, they didn't believe in him and only made him run. It was disappointing that they didn't even have a plan for him to be successful. Matt developed a game plan to play to Malik's strengths and it shows what coaching can do for a player.
As a Packers fan I am very happy he's my coach

I feel the same exact way. I've never believed in him but I'm just going to stop acting like I know what's going on. He is a great coach, has built a great culture, and gute is giving him pieces to work with. He might have a chance to win COTY with this start.
Thoroughly enjoyed these two wins. Don’t rush Love back against MN. Let Willis show out cuz he’s earned that right. Win or lose, let Willis take on the challenge and earn a starting position in this league next year.
That way you can trade him for a 3rd round pick and win win the trade game.

The only fan base that is higher than packers fans right now are Vikings. Will be a good week 4 matchup to watch.
Willis was so good at doing his thingthe last 2 games that I almost want him to flex in games for the occasional play in place of love so that he can run the ball with a threat of a pass on. I'm always worried love will get hurt when he runs, but if we slip in Willis...game on.
I enjoy the team mindset, everybody is happy for everyone else, everybody gets the ball throughout the games.

Great time to be a Packers fan. Wish we could’ve given Rodgers a few more offensive weapons the last few years of his career but I can’t be happier with how they rebuilt this team. Completely different vibe all around.

Hey, let’s chill on the MLF hype, because in the postseason in particular (especially against Shannahan and the Niners) MLF gets outplayed and out coached every time by Shannahan, because MLF literally relies on Shannahan’s playbook word for word and Shannahan of course sees through it every time. To put it plainly, MLF is Shannahan but worse.
