I must admit, I adore the metal dollhouse and the plastic furniture. Just so kitschy. I'm on the hunt for a reasonably priced metal dollhouse.
I feel exactly the same way! I'm not ready yet for my metal house. I need to do a purge of junk from my "real" house. lol! Keep me posted on your hunt! 🥰✨
@@thedollcupboard You too! I refuse to pay over $150 for a metal house plus another $60-90 shipping. Nope, nada.
I think the pink tub is a baby wash tub .You could use those bassinet in the infirmary for the babies. 💕💕💕That would be too cute ☺️☺️I loved the red record player and the card and table sooo cute. The rugs were beautiful and the wooden table and chairs loved them. I agree the pie safe is very lovely the latch makes it.Great finds overall I wish I could find minis at yard sale no such luck for me yet. Hopefully one day.💕💕look forward to seeing the cottage make.💕💕💕
I believe you are right about the little pink tub being a baby bathtub.
Hi Grace🤗 Ya, pink wash tub. I was wondering about the "Blue Box" brand. Are you familiar with it? Yes, I would love to set up some bassinettes in the infirmary. I'll turn it into a birth center- Lol. It's pretty rare to find a sale like this around here. Read Papa Bear's comment about a sale she recently attended for some delight. I can't wait to show off my cottage some more. 🥰✨
What wonderful items you brought at that sale,I never knew plastic furniture was so expensive to buy,for the prices she had in her shop.I love the pie cupboard with the tin and the card table you showed at the end.Thank you for a very interesting video and the names of the makers.
Hi Eve🤗 We're learning together! I essentially knew nothing before I researched these pieces. The prices from when the items were in her shop were from many years ago. Like many vintage items, the value fluctuates with time.😍✨
Wonderful finds Dot! I really like the pie safe.❤ It has the peg closure and everything. The Victrola is very sweet. My aunt and uncle have had one since the 1960's that works to this day and plays 78 records.😊
Hi Vicki! How fun your Aunt and Uncle have an old Victrola! I would love that! I have a few of those 78 LPs but no where to play them. 🥰✨
Super great finds Dot! Lucky you!!! My favorite is the pie safe. It looks just like my real one. I love the longer videos. Keep 'em coming girl!!!
Lucky YOU! I've always wanted a real life pie safe. So glad I went back and got it at half price! I'm glad you like the longer videos. I'm shocked that anyone would . 🤣 Hope your summer is off to a good start!😍 ✨
Renwal was so much fun back in the day, with the bright colors and sometimes had moving parts. I have fond memories of Renwal. Didn't hold up in attic storage though as the plastic warped in the summers.
Hi Crowznest🤗 I agree! I'm looking forward to seeing if I can polish up these pieces a bit, especially the red table. 🥰✨
Wow... such great finds. It was interesting learning a bit about the furniture history. I like old/vintage tins as well. They come in handy to keep little projects in. And I think that little Easter cart would look adorable outside of Charlotte's cottage.
Thanks for sharing!
Hi Sandy! Yes! Love the cart for the front of Charlottes cottage. I hadn't even considered that. She is quite the manipulator getting me to do all this work for her while the other Charlottes languish in a teacup in Whistle By House. Lol 😂😍✨
@@thedollcupboard 😹😸
Hello Dot, nice finds, I had plastic furniture in my dolls house when I was little in 60's , I don't know what make it was though, the estate sale looks very interesting, I think the tiny pink thing is a bath tub, it looks the perfect size for Charlotte.
Have a great rest of the week.
Best wishes from Yorkshire, England 🇬🇧 😊
Hi Diane🤗 When I look at minis on ebay uk I don't see much plastic furniture. It's interesting to me the different brands in different countries. There was so much more to the estate sale than I could possibly impart. The woman who owned the items was there, wanting to answer questions. She was quite elderly. I asked her if she still did art/creating and she said she could only do it in her mind. 😢 It was a little bit heartbreaking to watch her, but that could have just been me projecting. I wanted her to know how beautiful I thought her collections were and that I would enjoy my purchases very much. The pink basin is apparently from a line that made 1:24 scale. It's actually too big for Charlotte, besides that she's too proud for a plastic tub. 😂🥰✨
Wow, wow, wow! I love all the cool furniture you got. You must be having fun. PS. I love red plastic things too. Nice to see you are still enjoying the canisters.❤️🇨🇦
Well my dear dear friend🤗 You already know my favorite of my red plastics! 😘😘😘 Wish you were close by. 🥰✨
Imagine I love this!😄 More long videos!😁❤️
Aw really, Maria?🤗 I can hardly stand to edit myself for five minutes! Hahaha. 😘✨
I have those curtain clips in white. I got them from a friend in Finland. I had noticed them in use when I visited her and she kindly sent me some! I couldn't find any in US when I got home, but I am sure they are available now everywhere! Love your hauls. The card table and chairs are so cool. Happy miniaturing!
Hi Suzanne🤗 I have various clips like that of different types but none quite like these. They will work well for curtains in my old house. I don't see them much but I'm sure there are modern types available here. 😍✨
Great prices! You found some lovely treasures! The first desk set I believe is by Grandmother Stover’s Miniatures c 1960-70s. The lovely embroidery is Victorian and the brass clips are for curtains. The pie safe is lovely! BlueBox is another company that made Dollhouse Furniture in the 1960-70s, made mostly in Hong Kong.
Thanks Lynne🤗 I was hoping you would comment! Thank you for all this great information. For me part of the fun of a new hobby is learning all the details. I love that kind of history. 🥰✨
Hi Dot! You found and purchased sone fabulous things! I love the vintage plastic train shops! Darling!
GUESS WHAT?! I happened on a sale YESTERDAY that was ENTIRE 2 story house FULL vintage dollhouses, dolls/families and furnishings, along with other vintage toys (farm sets, fire engines, ranch sets, train sets, etc.) coloring books, cars, trucks, tractors, tinker toys, games, card games, etc etc etc and over 2000 (!) vintage dolls of every variety, size, etc!
Most had their original outfits from head to toe! If not, they were in darling vintage clothes! There were also countless vintage baby strollers, buggies, prams, tables, chairs, appliances, suitcases, etc. etc. Most dolls still had their original boxes as well! Everything was in wonderful condition! There were vintage doll-making supplies too. Jars and boxes of eyes, arms, legs, elastic, threads, strings, paints, brushes, hair, etc. I sure thought of you, Dot!
There were 60+ vintage dollhouses of various sizes, makers and varieties - and all fully furnished! There were also other vintage dollhouses in their original boxes - never having been opened! From kits to cardboard houses to tin houses and more! I have never seen anything like it in my life!! I bought several things - could have easily spent thousands if I didn’t want to eat for weeks and months! LOL! Prices were pretty reasonable overall too!
In fact, you and I bought some of the very same items! How about that?! Great miniaturists think alike, right?! ❣️
Maybe, best of all, this sale will resume later this month where they will be discounting everything left on the last day! Yes, I AM going to go then, for sure! I hope to find even more treasures then! The elderly couple who collected, restored and repaired vintage toys, etc their whole lives (!) passed away last year in their 90’s! The house was so full, there were times it was truly hard to navigate from room to room! They only let in 4 people at a time and you had to book your time in advance! Unbeknownst to me, the sale had been going on for 3+ weeks (at scheduled times) and yet … there was SO MUCH still to buy and THEY’RE STILL UNPACKING MORE TO PUT OUT TO SELL!!
She said they’ve hardly sold any dollhouses - just a few!?! Most people have been buying dolls, trains, doll furniture, etc.
Another amazing thing … you could buy a dollhouse with all of its furniture, or without its furniture or you could buy pieces of furniture and accessories out of ANY dollhouse!! IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE! I felt like I was dreaming! I spent 3+ HOURS there and could have spent all day, easily!!
I bought sone wood furniture, many plastic furniture pieces, one tin dollhouse (full of furniture!), and many, many accessories - dishes, silverware, rugs, brooms, vacuum cleaners, flowers, vases, a darling bbq grill, bath scales, lamps, clocks … and on and on! I also bought one doll family. And they had several vintage children’s books that, each, when opened, made into a dollhouse! I bought 3 different books as such. I bought a vintage set of paper dolls that also have a cardboard dollhouse! It was soooooooo hard to restrain myself!! I did that really well (I think!) given the thousands of items!
Just had to share after watching your video! I’m so glad we both found great sales and were able to purchased sweet items!! ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️Kathleen
That sounds amazing! What I'd give to find a place like that!
I wish I lived where you are, I would love to go with you but alas I’m in a wheelchair and probably wouldn’t be able to get around.
Oh Kathleen🤗 This sounds like a pure wonderland of delight for us doll and mini lovers! Congratulations on your purchases! 👏👏👏 Of course I'm not at all surprised we bought some of the very same things! Do keep me updated on your treasure hunting. We are all enjoying ourselves through your sharing! 🥰✨
@@DiannelLaird I wish you were here to go to this amazing sale too!! For me, I think it’s like the sale of a lifetime!
@@marygatdula2744 I hear you! I still can’t believe it myself!
Beautiful pieces. Can't wait to see where you used them ❤
Hi Katia🤗 me too! I need a metal dolls house now. 😂🥰✨
Blue box made 1/24th scale houses and furniture 😊
Thanks Katie🤗 Houses also, cool. 😎I knew someone would know. Do you know what years? 😍✨
Wow great find Dot ❤ I loved the pie safe, and back to those darned hinges and doors 😂 my hinge phobia 😅
Kara🤗 I was just watching you do those hinges last night😂 What hope is there for someone like me if you have trouble?🤣 I think I'm going to try making my own out of chip board. I like a good pin hinge, but they're not appropriate for every door. Maybe I'll start buying broken lots, just for the hinges. 🙃😂🥰
@@thedollcupboard I have an idea for you, how about using fabric for the hinges, it will last longer than paper and not rip off or break like paper 😬
@karakreations1103 Great idea! I did this on my cottage which I'll show next time! 😍
Very cool haul. Love it!!!
Thanks so much Barbara 🤗 Something so appealing about mid century plastics 😍✨
🎉very interesting hun 🎉
Hi Dorothy🤗 Thanks so much for watching. I hope you have the best weekend and are feeling well 🥰✨
@@thedollcupboard hopefully 🙏 I will get sorted soon . I enjoy your videos very much xx
You bought some really nice pieces great baby stuff. I really liked the card table too! I would also love to be able to go to estate sales but I don’t think we have those here in my small city.🤗🇨🇦
Hi Dianne🤗 It seems the garage sale/estate sale/ flea market culture is different in various cities, states and countries. Around here they are mainly adult children clearing out the parental home. There is a very large elderly population here and many folks that have been in their homes for decades. We also have a military base so there are frequent moving sales, but those tend to have less vintage merchandise. 😍✨
Great ideas I will keep my eye out for them, thank you very much.🤗🇨🇦
I used different pieces of tge plastic items in the greenleaf trailer kit. Most trailer furniture is small sized in real time. I got a almost complete kitchen cabinet set. (claimed as salesman sample, but really isn't). Worked great in the trailer kit.
Very interesting! I think that's so clever 😍✨
@@thedollcupboard that's because of my mini brain. Hahahaha
@swearenginlawanda 😂😂😂
I bet if you went online, you could find the missing images for your Plasticville town and fill-in the businesses.
Well, aren't you the clever girl! I didnt even think about it 😜 I may just do that this morning! 😘✨
@thedollcupboard Every once in a while, a spark fires in the old noggin.LOL
Stool goes with dressing table
Thanks Susan 👍🏻😍
Dot, how is it that you always come across the best items?!!
I have some tiny hinges that I believe are the same as what's on your pie safe. I could send some if you'd like.
P.S. My mother had that very same table cloth that you have on your table. I don't know what ever became of it, unfortunately. Perhaps one of my sisters has it. I hope so.
Hi Mary🤗 You're so kind. I have tons of hinges but not those extra, light weight tiny ones. Where does one find them? I've had several similar comments about my tablecloth, must've been a popular pattern! They are abundant at antique shops. I have many that started off bright and now are faded with holes. I use all my vintage household items. Thank you for your comment🥰✨
I believe I found the hinges at Temu or possibly Hobby Lobby.
If only being used as display, nit to play with, all the furniture can be painted if desired.
I'm so bad at painting tiny things, I'm certain I would make it worse 😂 I'll do what I can with my polishing cream. 😍✨
@@thedollcupboard i have the most shakeiest hands (age related). Try it. Use simple craft paint. If you don't like it..... water takes it right off.
@swearenginlawanda True, I'm not afraid of paint especially when it's easily taken off.
