This is an incredible episode! I could listen to Hoot all day long! The way he explains things closes any gaps in understanding for a layperson! Awesome interview! Thanks Hoot!
My Dad and Hoot flew together at Southwest. He told me about him when I was about 6 or 7 and he has always been one of my main idols. Thank you both for these videos. Im gonna show my son there just like my Dad showed me.
Great interview with Hoot...thank you. In the '80's I was a young engineer at NASA Dryden. We lost a pilot, Dick Gray...Hoot was at the memorial. Very sad indeed. I was also interested to see when Hoot is talking about the F-104, there is a photo op where Ed Schneider "comes in". Great memories. BTW, I was able to sit back seat in the 2-seat F-104 with Einar Enevoldson for a couple of hops, one of which was doing tower fly-bys to calibrate the airspeed system. Likely some of the best memories I've had.
