    I gave my GRE today and got 302 (V: 147 and Q: 155 ) after dedicated 1.5 months of prep.
    I mostly prepared from magoosh portal and vocab application and 5lb book.
    Any suggestions on how I should plan ahead and when should I again give my GRE in upcoming month.
    I am planning for Fall of 2023 for MS in either MEM or MIS.
    The issue that I noticed was in verbal the passages were very long and time consuming also, any suggestions on how I should improve the vocabulary.
    The magoosh app has not been of much help to me. Also, my IELTS is still left which I plan to give in 3 weeks.
    Any suggestions from your end are appreciated. 😊

    Firstly, very useful and comprehensive video, so thanks for that.
    Secondly, is this approach/plan fully applicable in 2023 as well?
    Also, Manhattan book set is pretty expensive and Magoosh on the other hand is offering digital prep material in lesser price. Do you recommend Magoosh as well for quant section?

    • @talhaomer167
      @talhaomer167  ปีที่แล้ว

      So Manhattan 5lb is not good any longer but the 8 Manhattan guides are good for concepts. You can get those easily online without paying much. Magoosh videos are good for learning concepts but not too great for practice questions.

    • @ziddirajpoot247
      @ziddirajpoot247 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@talhaomer167 thank you for your reply, really appreciate it.
      I just bought Manhattan 8 book set and 5 lb practice book yesterday from Urdu bazar in obviously very less price. It also fulfills my preference for tangible study material.
      So if I am to ignore the 5lb book now, what practice material do you recommend?
      Also, the Maghoosh flashcard app is no longer supported by latest Android OS (something that raises questions about the content of the app itself as well, perhaps), so what is your take on this?

      Both are effective but math review is not very detailed and thorough like the Manhattan GRE math books. If you follow Manhattan GRE math books then you will have covered everything possible on the exam.

      1) You can get books from any major bookstore in LHR/KHI/ISB. They cost you in rupees. They will cost you 6000 at most in total for all the books that i mentioned.
      2) Yes registration is separate.
      3) You can pay the fee when you are booking your test date, which can be done at www.ets.org/gre. Also dates are available there.

    A.o.A sir, I hope u will be fine sir I saw this video and I really like ur strategy as I am planning to take gre in October but then I saw on some fb platforms the students are saying that ets level up the trickiness in the exam and those students who prepared from the manhattan or magoosh they struggled even though they got the good results in their mock but couldn't be able to crack the real gre so my question is that if I still prepare from the sources u explained in the video will I be able to score 320+ kindly sir please reply me as I am really confused! Thanks

      W/S As long as you focus on your concepts and work on building them properly, these books are fine. No need to worry about the GRE difficulty as it is all about testing concepts so just focus on building those.

    Hi Talha, hope you are doing well. Amazing content on youtube, you seem to give so much confidence to test takers as you have this quality of making people believe in your way. My question to you is, is it possible for a test taker to work towards a target based approach in GRE. What I see is that there is a uniform plan that you have generously given out, and if some one follows it properly he has a very good chance in getting a 320 plus score. Is it possible to tweak the plan in order to achieve 330-335 score range ? I am asking this because I have a feeling that the approach in prep might be different for such targets, and since you said adding more practice(beyond what is recommended above in the video) might not make much difference. Thank you

    • @talhaomer167
      @talhaomer167  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello, Thank you for the message. So in my experience the difference between a 320+ and 330+ is not in terms of concepts or practice. It has more to do with the quick thinking you need to under timed conditions and managing the stress of the timer. I have seen people scoring a 320 improving their scores to 330 by just focusing on timed practice and mock exams. In terms of concepts and variety of questions, ETS and Manhattan suffice. You would not really find anything better than those.
      Thanks
