    Than you for the tips. I'm doing my small home garden, planting eggplants and bell pepper and love to watch these movies about planting and caring for plants❤

      Hey, you are very welcome. Thank you for checking us out! It is always great to meet another who enjoys growing food. If you like growing eggplants I have made many videos on the topic and growing them in different ways. Let me know what you think.

    This is great! I really appreciated the confirmation that eggplants need tons of water- you mentioned 2-3 times a day! I was worried I was overwatering. Will definitely move em to the shade and see if that helps, too.

      Hi Ellie,
      Yes, water and some shade will help greatly, been testing it out for years and seems to do the trick every time.

    Glad to find out they need less shade. Last year I had the eggplants in the area of my yard with the most light, I can change them to less light and use the most sun for sun loving plants.

      Hey Carmen! Yes, eggplants really don’t need as much sunlight as most would expect. I would do exactly as you stated. Thank you for your support of our channel!

    This is so encouraging! Thank you! Our garden gets part sun/shade but lots of dappled sunlight, so I think eggplants will do really well after watching this!

      Great to hear! You are welcome and thank you for your support of our channel. We are learning that many fruits and vegetables can grow in partial sunlight.

    The ones in shade are in bigger containers than the ones in the sun. I think that would have an impact on the size of plants, definitely. However, it is good to know eggplants require less sunlight. Thanks for the video.

      Hey Vanessa, yes they will grow really well in the shade. Just give them some sunlight for a few hours each day. I have received the question about the containers many times. The containers for the shaded eggplants are indeed larger, but I plant two in each compared to one per planter. They share a space that is relatively the same in cubic feet as the single eggplant containers. Thank you for your support of our channel!

    Thank you so much. I've only grown eggplants in full, hot 12-16 hours of sun. I've had, what I believed, was success, however I've now moved to a well treed acreage and have been contemplating trying eggplants. I will definitely give it a go now that ive watched your video. Thanks again!!

    Glad I found this video, I'm growing some egg plants on my balcony and some out in the garden. The ones in the containers on the balcony are so large and flooring already while the ones in the garden are rather stunted, so that's probably cos they r in full sunlight all day long. The ones in the sun have small leaves while the ones on the balcony have large leaves, like twice the size of my palms

      @caesarsfreedomstead1730  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey! Thank you for sharing. A few years ago I had experienced the same thing with eggplants in full sun. Giving half shade or so does wonders for your eggplants. Give your balcony eggplants plenty of water and some fertilizer/compost and they will give you some large fruits.

    thank you , you answered a question I had earlier on a different video..ONE more question, Do they reproduce growing in containers, they are known for growing during the year time and time again, year to year for about 3 years, good harvest, do they do the same in containers ? By the way, I also have Dragon Fruits,, and you have great videos, please keep them coming, thank you..

      @caesarsfreedomstead1730  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! Very good question. I have tried to have the container grown reproduce after the first season but may plants are not as fruitful. When growing in containers I will grow new plants each year with fresh compost and soil. This way I get large healthy eggplants every year. Thank you for your kind support of my channel. I will be making more videos soon!

    Thanks for the video! Just wondering what the difference is in container size? Do you think that’s had any effect on the growth?
    I have some little finger eggplants in a bed and some in a bucket. The ones in a 5 gallon bucket don’t seem to be growing as fast or as big.

    • @caesarsfreedomstead1730
      @caesarsfreedomstead1730  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey Alejandro, yes I do think the size of the container matters in terms of healthy growth. The container with the two eggplants in it hold 4 cubic feet of soil, and the single eggplant containers hold about 2 cubic feet. Each plant was given 2 cubic feet to grow so each container had about the same growing space. I would place yours in containers that can take 2cubic feet each and give them some good fertilizer. Will do great!

    It would be easier to tell how big they are if you would get down to ground level with them so we can compare. When the camera is focused down on them it’s really hard to tell. I’ve been growing my egg plants in pots in the shade and they really do better than when I left them out in the sun.

    Hi
    I had a lovely eggplant plant I hand pollinated I did the battery operated toothbrush shake. It did not grow one eggplant. It would flower and then close and drop off. Why please tell me why.

    • @caesarsfreedomstead1730
      @caesarsfreedomstead1730  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Tawana, the best way to make sure your eggplants are pollinated is to draw in pollinating insects to the area. Ever year we plant a variety of different flowers around our property and in the garden and they attract a whole lot of bees and butterflies. They pollinate all of our plants including the eggplants. I hope this helps. Thank you for your comment!

    • @whiteswanrs
      @whiteswanrs 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do the electric toothbrush thing on my tomatoes but I use a very soft make up brush on my egg plants. I get way down in the flower and wiggle it around and then touch the tip of the whatever it’s called that sticks out. I am very scientific but it works. :)
