• 24'' x 24'' or 24'' x 48'' acoustical ceiling tiles
• Chalk line

If the mains are 4 feet apart. . . . . How do I then install the 2 foot cross tees between them, as you said ? ? ?

The cross tees would have to be 4' long and placed 2' apart

Great video, but makes it look too easy. Especially where it says “you’ll have to shorten one of the main runners until square.” That means taking stuff apart, pulling it down, trying not to mess up what’s still good, swearing a lot, realizing you cut the wrong one, etc...

What is it will make the ceiling less than 7.5 feet? Do you have to lower it 4 inches? Can I get away with lowering it less?
Im assuming that grid is not to scale. Because 134" would only fit less than 3 four foot tiles and you have 6?

I've seen 3 videos now on this installation & not one showed screwing channel into cement block. I wanna do my basement & turn one section into a den. Should I just drill into the block or somehow bring down furring strips to screw into?
Screwing into block is a pain. I would install wood framing or strips to screw in to

Tube lights normally are attached to bottom of ceilings unless you order lights to fit into grid then you have to frame it in.
Hey Rona your skipping the part about walls being perfectly straight, string lines work better and faster. They sell 4' tees so your mains are 4' apart. Less mains less wires to hang less work. You don't do this often i guess. No framing square needed. 15/16's grid corner to corner will measure 52 1/4". 9/16 grid 52 3/4's". You do not have to draw anything measure the room. If you want tile center of room or grid center of room.

Not even close. How do you get equal borders. Did you use a level or laser for wall angle. Make sure your grid is square before you finish installing. There is no reverse. This is why home owner are screwing up n calling me to fix it. Bad video.

I installed ceilings over 25 years and thank god I no longer do it. This video was a laugh. Lag eyes???? Use staples and drive them in high on the joist. The framing square....lol.
