You should check out Year of the dog. I really enjoyed her performance in that movie.
She made me really hate her character so much at first and then suddenly made me feel ridiculously sympathetic, not a lot of actors can make me feel that way

Paul Adamson I think about that episode all the time. I dont remember some things that saw two weeks ago - but I will always remember how dumb and touched I felt at the end of that episode.

My favorite interview yet. I didn't really know her on a personal level before I appreciate her take on the "measure up" thing. So true.

I sat next to her at a small dinner party a friend had. This was in the early to mid 90’s and, she is so easy to talk to. After a while of talking about this and that she whispered to me and asked if I had any nice single friends. Unfortunately I did not but, she went into how hard it was for her to date because of the “ measuring up” thing. Not on her end but, the other person. She just didn’t want a relationship that was always about competition/ measuring up. So, it’s interesting she brought that up in this.
I’m glad she’s doing great. She’s a sweet lady.
When Molly describes the moment she knew life was going to be okay as a pack of gum and a friend to share it with.... Tears of joy man

Just finished her biography. She’s absolutely so lovely. My wife spent some time with her in New York years ago. They had a mutual friend. Wife said she is every bit as lovely in person as she appears in interviews. Pure sincerity and authenticity. If you haven’t read her bio yet, I recommend the audiobook.
This episode is getting saved onto my warm fuzzy list of videos I keep to watch on those crappy days when I need an emotional pick-me-up. Does that make sense?

How can you not love Molly Shannon. Whenever I see her in any role and the random guest appearances on sitcoms I have the biggest smile. Her enthusiasm and happiness is so contagious, she seems so genuine too.

Agree 100% AlliChuck. I was skeptical when I read the description thinking this "format" would be annoying but I love it. The TH-cam algorithm knows me pretty well. :) The mixture of 1:1 discussion combined with the interactions with the environment and "extras" is super engaging. I think he's nailed it on the duration ~ 15 min. Kevin comes across as super down to earth while being quietly hilarious. These are great. Nice job Kevin!

This was one of my favorite episodes... here's why: Of course I knew who Molly Shannon was through her storied career... but I never really felt a connection with her because I didn't "know" her. After "meeting" her on this hike with Kevin... she's turns out to be the coolest chick. So real and genuine, and a pleasant person, especially with her interactions with others. "Are you an actress?" What a perfect thing to say to a young woman pretty woman. She'll tell that story for years... every Thanksgiving dinner... "Do you remember that time Molly Shannon... asked me... if I was an actress....." It's the little things, the details, that make people special. Molly Shannon it turns out... is a special person.

I've been binge watching your hiking interviews, and I honestly didnt think I could pick a favourite, but Molly has done it!
What an amazing person! That last story about her dad brought me to tears. Cheering her on while wearing tights and a wool dress in the summer (lol) now that's an awesome parent!! I'm 51, and I've been watching Saturday Night Live since I was a kid!
