I watched the OSU Beavers Addleys senior season win the National Championship I didn't know of course he would be chosen first pick. Now I'm watching this young man tear it up his first season in the majors. I'm 85 and just sorry I won't be around for his career. He's going to be the one to watch!! I really enjoy watching his family too they are outstanding!
The most amazing part of this highlights video is that there are only to AB's where he's hitting righty. If he can begin to produce from the right side next year he will be among the contenders for starting AL All Star Catcher as well as gold glove.
I'd like to see the Os do something smart and lock this guy up for the long term the year BEFORE free agency. He is going to play as well as Johnny Bench through his career. He is twice as good as the over-hyped Weiters (I still can't spell his name). Where are the flaws? Granted, Mateo saved him on a few throws. But my other hope is the Os take a serious look at keeping Mateo. That glove is ridiculously good. Last time the Os had a dynasty was when I was a kid. Their catchers were good, especially in tandem. But no where near this. Fielding was a strong point (one of the greatest fielding SSs ever in Belanger). I don't think the birds will 'surprise' anyone in '23 because they did already in '22. I'm looking at a world series appearance. As a fan for this long, I won't be too disappointed if it doesn't happen. But I'm that kind of fan. Hopefully watching the games in South America this year instead of Spanish time.
