When I was in elementary school, we had to learn how to crochet. I never managed to. I remember the teacher was more preoccupied with complaining about how I was holding the hook rather than trying to teach me how to do a double crochet. I spent 25 years thinking I sucked at this. Then, encouraged by a friend, I decided to try again only a couple of months ago, and after a few simple v-stitch dish rags, I thought that I might be ready for this pretty handband. And I was! You are really easy to listen to, you're clear and straight in your instructions, the video is good, and the project is really pretty. Thank you so much for giving me my confidence back. I don't know what you do for a living but you are more pedagogical than my teacher, a supposed professional, was! THANK YOU does not cover it.
I just wanted to THANK YOU for showing us all how to do this. I am going to give this a try tonight. Just a note about when you seamed the ends together. I have learned to have a cleaner, flatter seam by just grabbing ONE of the loops from each side (not both) & sewing it together. (I think that it may be called the invisible join) You would put the wrong sides facing each other. You would then sew into the inside loop of one side then go to the inside loop of the other side & do this all of the way down. You get a flat join with no bulky mess :)
I can truly say your tutorial actually was very best I have found for cable stitches. I have been trying for about 6 months and I couldn't follow each one I tried. I wanted another try so I found yours and I did it. I would love to show you a picture. Thank you very much
Best tutorial for this braided cable , gone through so many videos but not able to follow along without a mistake ,but your video is clear and understandable, thank you soo much
I looove cables, I had no idea they could be created with crochet until now. Now I don't have to learn to knit 😂. Thank you so much for the easy to follow video!
This was amazingly simple! I was floored at how well I could follow along and how easy it ended up being! Thank you so much for walking through each step and making something that I always thought looked "too complicated for me" so simple and fun! Love wearing my ear warmer!
I bought some yarn on the Aran Islands in Ireland and was hoping to make a cabled headband. I tried to do one from a pattern but after many unsuccessful attempts, I found your video. Thank you! My headband looks wonderful.
Well, that was work for me...I am left handed and can't read a pattern, so I had to replay and replay and replay till I got a headband...I am so proud of my headband....don't think I will do another as I have to reverse the whole time...but I DID IT!!!! WHOOOHOOO....thankyou for a beatiful pattern....
This particular pattern reminds me of the Irish cable knit sweaters. It is beautiful. I named it the Celtic chain. I made several headbands for my Irish friends and they were amazed. Thank you so much for showing us this stitch. You are awesome!
I love your designs and you are an excellent teacher. I am very old and did more knitting than crochet but am determined to do this as it is so clearly demonstrated. Thank you so much 👍🏻💐
For some reason I had to watch this for all odd # rows!!! I can make frilly dresses sweaters or whatever!!! But I finished and love mine!❤ thanks! Will try other tutorials by you!

You are the first person to make me try and finish quite a complex project for beginners like me. Thank you for the very on point and clear instructions!
I’m loving this pattern. You are very easy to follow. I was having a little trouble with skipping the 2 stitches before the 1/2 dc and found if I use a stitch marker Before I do the cables I don’t have any problem finding the right stitch. Thanks. I plan to make a bunch of these.
ty for you clear instructions never was able to follow cables patterns .Mind the colour you using helps to see the stitches where other tutorials are always in dark colours.glad i found this lovely cable what i am using right now for a long sweater using the cable in the center ...ty ver much ...looks already great after i done a quater . Hi there, I'd like to thank you so very much for such a clear tutorial 👍👏👏👏 I have tried many different tutorial for the cable stitch and have not able to enjoy learning it and crocheting it.😕 But today I came across your tutorial and enjoyed learning the cable stitch so easily!! Thnx a lot☺️☺️👍🌸🌸✨
I love your videos. I'm obsessed with crocheting and learning to do the cable stitch. I tried and retried and I think I got it, but I have one cable down the middle that doesn't look like it should be there. I will send you a picture. Can you figure out what I did wrong?
Hi Sierra. I just love the grey sparkle headband I just finished after following this beautiful tutorial. It was challenging for me 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ as I am a beginner, but I managed - It would be fabulous if you were able to make a matching pair of cable fingerless mittens - then it would make such a super gift for my nieces 🥰🥰
Finished my first. Love it!!! Making my second. I had to walk throughit about 8 x. Then i wrote a diagram....its so easy after a while. Id like to make this pattern in a sweater!! How lovely would that be?
very cute. You explain really well. I will make one for myself. Right now it's a me thing lol after making stuff for other's. Will be visiting your blog also. Hope to see more of your talent in crochet. Thank you so much. :)
Hi Again, I subscribed to your email list.. I then looked on your blog to find this pattern in written form but I can’t find it.. please let me know the link to it.. Thankyou! 😍
@@lindareena yes sorry, I had plans of having this as a written pattern, but people found the written pattern too confusing so I just kept it as just a youtube tutorial.
There is no written pattern for this headband just the video tutorial here on TH-cam. The link to my blog is if you want to check out my other patterns 👍🏼
HI! The one I made in this video is measuring 5 inches wide. If it's still too wide for your liking, I would suggest going down one hook size see if that helps at all.
Hi, was.watching videos while crocheting and put down what I was doing to start one of these as a gift. I did a few repeats and I am loving how it is coming out. I may have to do this in a few different colors. FYI, I wanted to check out your blog but I couldn't find it & Your Etsy link in ravelry gave me an error. Hi Annette, I would make the pattern smaller by doing only one frontpost instead of two. So you would start with 8 hd crochets instead of 16. The cable would still be nice.
Thank you! I am so happy you enjoyed it!! But really, how did the color change for the cables turn out? Would love to see photos! Feel free to email me at sierrascraftycreations@gmail.com
Hi there, I haven't tried to make any other items with this braided pattern, so I am unsure of how many stitches would be needed or what all changes would need to be made to accomplish making it into a scarf. Sorry not much help in that area!

hey there I am working on my first attempt at this headband and it is coming out beautiful! I was wondering if there was a way to possibly do that backround in one color and the cable stitches in another and how do you think i could go about doing that?
Crystal LeCain hi!! Happy it’s turning out good for you! I actually have never attempted to do color changing for any type of cabling, so I’m not sure How to go about do that. So sorry.
Maybe it would work if you do the half double rows in a different color than the frontpost rows. Hope you understand what I mean.. Not sure how it would turn out if you try to do that. Maybe you can do a small sample piece..

Hi Annette, I would make the pattern smaller by doing only one frontpost instead of two. So you would start with 8 hd crochets instead of 16. The cable would still be nice.
