@@michaelzhang9806 Yeah, The best state of the first game was in it's Alpha, the one that had the flatter blue house with a crow, it was so simple and good looking too.
I would be totally ok with the game not being super clear on where to go, as I would just end up exploring the houses and stumbling on the solution (which might be what the game intends), but the cutscenes not triggering properly is a HUGE problem when the game is designed that way because it makes it impossible to tell when the game broke and can leave the player confused on why they cant progress, so they definitely need to get that ironed out. PEOPLE, GET RYAN TO SEE THIS! I vaguely understand. When you went to the grave, you found a picture of the Neighbor's daughter, then you crossed off what had happened to her (She didn't go missing like the character had thought, but she in fact died. I also have a feeling this takes place some time during the first game, because one of the missing pictures is the younger version of the character you play as in the first game, and maybe the Neighbor was hiding from the cops while the kid you play as was trapped in the basement. Theres also the third missing kid who was his son, whom he had also locked in the basement. Also I think the crow is just something that keeps people from going out of bounds.
Bless him and his patience. If executed correctly, this game could be anything from an interesting cartoon mystery/horror experience to a cracked out scary game of tag (both very entertaining, imo). It really doesn’t explain any of the motivations and plots behind each character, so it doesn’t give you a great place to start or sense of direction. Tough bc I really like the design and art style of it smh
Yeah. Hello neighbor had always difficulty in portraying motivation and sense of direction. Its looking fine, for the most part, this better redeem itself for the poor outing of the first disaster they have turned their prequel into.
Hello neighbor was one of my favorite series to watch when it was super popular, i remember watching so many differant youtubers play and it was so entertaining, dan tdm, 8bitryan, blitz, and a few others. Damn those were the good days
I feel like a lot of people had no clue about the Hello Neighbor 2 alpha and alpha 1.5. They also announced whoever pre orders the game will get the beta on a certain date a long time ago.
I first started watching Ryan when he was uploading his very first few Hello Neighbor series, and watching this brings back so much nostalgia for me. It's been a long ride but I've loved every second of it. You're doing a great job, Ryan, and I'm so happy to see you keep enjoying and putting out great content.

I still remember those missing posters... Its unreal how we still remember the lore and the fun from 3 years ago. I would appreciate to see you post more of this Ryan :)
Honestly, I like the way the game leaves you to figure out lore and make theories. It gives it major replay-ability, as you might have missed something crucial during your last play-through and thus tempts you to play it again. I don't really like games that are SUPER upfront about story line, as it leaves less room for interpretation. But that's just me. Hope they fix those cutscene bugs though...
Heres a bit of a clarification of how the story goes.. we are playing as a journalist/investigator and the game takes place after hello neighbor 1 act 1. The protagonist of the first game has been captured by the neighbor.. along with the neighbors son and the neighbors daughter died if you remember from hn hide and seek. Thats her grave. But it looks like her corpse has been taken away. The crow is like a masked version of the neighbor and he catches you if you get further away from where you should be. The rest of the story of the beta is pretty clear. You re looking in the neighbors shack in order to find what hes hiding and find out the truth for the missing children. Which has already been spoiled from the previous games.
Man...it's been so long since many youtubers first ever videos on this series. The nostalgia is real. I used to stay up many hours watching people's playthrus and livestreqns and lore videos on this game.
The Information board in your office should tell you what you need to do, when the watch beeps the board sometimes updates. You can put up a camera in front of it so you can check it from anywhere. (For me it did bug once but I just exited the game)
Making bets now: The betas will be good and fun, then the full release will be complete lackluster missing everything that made the betas fun. Either I'm right, or my curse will kick in and gets us a cool game. either way: I win.
Two things one: As it says at the beggining this is clearly beat and not the finnished product Two: This game should be called Hello Neighbourhood as they all want you dead
I'm gonna be honest. Cool to have this beta and all but I genuinely hope they don't go again with releasing a lot of betas and stuff like the first one. It DIDN'T go well, and in the end the full game wasn't nearly as interesting.
I don't get why tiny build just can't make a game that makes sense this one was a bit better graphically and the world building as well but the story made no sense like why are we doing the things we do or why are we here, I get making a game where you understand the plot over time but still, I was so confused but Ryans editing helped a lot at least I could make sense of things, can't imagine trying to play this tho
I was never actual scared while playing the first hello neighbor. This however, while in beta NOT EVEN FINISHED managed to give me a scare worse than any other horror game so far
Hello Neighbor 2 is looking to be MUCH better then the first game, don't know why the intro bugged so much for you tho it worked fine for me :p also the intro was supposed to show you the evidence board in your house, it gives you an idea on what you're supposed to be doing and updates as you make progress in the game, another thing this game focuses more on AI (the neighbors) then puzzles, while puzzles are still a thing in this game, the game expects you to interact and observe the AI (the neighbors) in order to figure out what exactly to do with the puzzles, I do recommend you check this game out again maybe after it get's patched because it honestly is the best hello neighbor game we've had so far.
Hey! Hello again. There are a few comics for hello neighbor... you can find them in Barnes and noble or some library. That's all I have for today. Goodbye 👋!!
Man so cool to see Hello Neighbor 2! I remember the first time I watched Ryan was when he made his videos in the original first hello neighbor game way back in 2016 (or was it 2017?) It's been awesome to watch the channel grow over all that time XD
Bro this is so nostalgic- this game first got me to watch Ryan’s content like 5 years ago or smth stupid like that lol. Can’t believe there’s a second game, it looks incredible!
Haven't watched this yet, will watch after I come home from school. Similar to everyone else, hello neighbor is also one of the things that made me watch Ryan. I remember getting excited for a new alpha version coming out because Ryan would make a video on it. I was sad when the series ended but I rewatched it last year and I hope this sequel will live up to or be better than the first one. Thanks Ryan for all the happy memories!
It’s weird how the cutscenes didnt trigger for him specifically, resulting in him being more severe to the game. Also, there are many visual clues that he missed, but me and a lot of people who played the game could figure this. I dont think Ryan was made for puzzle games. Now i wouldnt say such thing if he was playing other hn games (cus the others have horrible puzzles), but this one has much clearer puzzles and objectives with clues located next to locked doors or in locked rooms as well as the pinboard that gives u the objectives as the game progresses. Its a shame the cutscenes didnt trigger in time resulting in him getting mad at the guest for hours and the fact he did not look at the pinboard or at the very least looked around. Im glad tho that Dawko took his time and figured it out by himself
(For context, the guest prevents u from exploring if u havent trigger the grave cutscene and the one where the neighbor is seen in the museum. These cutscenes resulted in the guest being a constant annoyance and the game didnt remove him due to the cutscenes not triggering). Ryan is the first one who seemed to have gotten this bug
I was in the pre-order livestream the whole time just to vibe to the lo-fi and HN2 soundtrack -even made a lot of new friends lmao- and I'm so glad that YTers are getting at it. I do think HN2 has so much potential!! _just as long as it doesnt break and the AIs become a sad attempt at an enemy_
Definitely. Throughout literally every version of Hello Neighbor, both final and pre-release, you're given a basic introduction or tutorial and then you're tasked with breaking into the basement (or in the case of the final games Act 2, breaking out of the house). Level Design was kind of wack but it was still servicable. From what it looks like so far, this game seems to be like an absolute disaster, as you're given unclear objectives, the "i" indicator on the watch seemingly appearing at random times with no proper rhyme or reason, the crow's spawning behaviour appears to be inconsistent which further adds to the confusion and level design appears to have taken a hit as well, though as my only experience of the game so far is this singular video and the fact the game seems to still be fairly work in progress with large room for improvement I can not fully comment on that. The only clear improvements I can see is the mantling which seems like it will make platforming more bearable and the graphics, which hot *DAYUM* they look nice.
for context, you gotta place the heads on the creatures in the museum, you get one head from each house, which will unlock a stick that gives access for the attic, the rich mayor guy has the bear head, and the old guy has the fish head, and the neighbor has the pig head in the refrigerator downstairs, you need the key from the baker to access that though. the crow guy only gets you when your in the dark, so stay in the light/wait until daytime and you should be fine, hope this helps you!
Ryan remember its the beta So there’s bound to be bugs. You’re supposed to collect the heads of the animals to open the hatch of the attic which you can find below the TV in the museum and If you run they can hear you run so the NPCs including the neighbor can detect where you are so I suggest you crouch to sneak around. I have a beta myself And I already completed it so I would know.
Sure, but they should 100% be informed of the bugs that are ruining it's play ability. They can't fix them if they don't know about them. That's why things like this are released early, so people can play, find these bugs, and tell them.
i had a wave of nostalgia as Hello Neighbor was the second video i ever watched of Ryan’s. He’s like the whole reason i love horror games and just video games in general. I even introduced my father to Ryan and omg he has so much admiration for him.
Today I was looking back on some of your older hello neighbor videos. I thought to myself I wish he could make more. Well today I'm lucky thanks so much ryan
The best time of the first one was alpha, when they introduced alpha 2 with new (horribly for me style, with unreaslistic size items) the game was killed. I really hope this game will be fixed of bugs because devs really must put love but they also have to do it right
I really agree but I think alpha 3 is what killed the most since it is so confusing but at least there are some context clues. So yeah this is what the game failed on which is why it died : T
Hey ryan, this state of the game is very buggy, which is the reason they opened it up to the public, in the discord server bugs are being reported and fixed 24/7, so I hope the bugs are gone as much as you!
i think one of the best parts of the first game was how vague it was it was always so interesting seeing each youtuber finding a different solution to X puzzle also i think games are doing WAY to much handholding these days they offer the solutions up on a silverplate and theres zero fun in that a good example of this is call of duty black ops cold war the zombies easter eggs. i dare even to say its kinda ruining games and also doesnt teach the player to get any better at anything and then will develop the mindset of wanting any other game to be like this.
I really wanna know where all the content is going to come from with this game. This beta is completely different from the alpha and tbh the beta looks finished minus some bugs. Surely less than 2 hours of gameplay isn’t what they’ve hyped up. They’ve hyped up an open world hello neighbour experience but it seems that we’ve completed all the mysteries the town has to offer in a couple hours beta. Idk though just my thoughts on it.
This game has potential, let’s just hope it doesn’t become broken like the first game…
Broken and with an incoherent mess of a story.
Hello Neighbor 1, as much as I hate to admit it, was horrible. You know something went wrong when the alphas were better than the final product.
I have an extreme love hate relationship with Hello Neighbor 1

I just beat it and it’s good really good it needs to make the objectives more clear but it’s extremely fun this game is better then the first by alot
The title screen says its still in beta so it still has a chance
I’d love to see more of this, I hope you continue this series! (Also, could you continue “in space with markiplier”?)
You just have to be amazed at how they managed to make this game even worse than the first one in the first hour of playing.
It's a beta, ofc it's gonna have bugs.
@@thomasemminger1873 The amount of bugs doesn't matter here, the gameplay alone is terrible.
@@aRetailArchitect let's just hope that when it comes out its going to be alright, but for now I am not amazed
Aren't exagerating a bit? Like yeah it sucks but worse than the first one is a bit of a strech

Based bit Ryan
I can wait for the full release of this game. 😊 This was bugging and interesting but it's just the beta.
for context, you gotta place the heads on the creatures in the museum, you get one head from each house, which will unlock a stick that gives access for the attic, the rich mayor guy has the bear head, and the old guy has the fish head, and the neighbor has the pig head in the refrigerator downstairs, you need the key from the baker to access that though. the crow guy only gets you when your in the dark, so stay in the light/wait until daytime and you should be fine, hope this helps you!
He's giving feedback
Sure, but they should 100% be informed of the bugs that are ruining it's play ability. They can't fix them if they don't know about them. That's why things like this are released early, so people can play, find these bugs, and tell them.
i had a wave of nostalgia as Hello Neighbor was the second video i ever watched of Ryan’s. He’s like the whole reason i love horror games and just video games in general. I even introduced my father to Ryan and omg he has so much admiration for him.
Finally, hello neighbor 2 finally came out. And the most legendary youtuber is playing it.
So yeah this is what the game failed on which is why it died : T
alpha 3 was what killed the game for me alpha 2 was kinda mid
You've probably had the most trouble out of anyone I've seen so far. Real shame.. The game is actually really good when it works properly.
Hey ryan, this state of the game is very buggy, which is the reason they opened it up to the public, in the discord server bugs are being reported and fixed 24/7, so I hope the bugs are gone as much as you!
Nostalgia is real! 8bit Ryan is one of the best!! Big W for this game
i think one of the best parts of the first game was how vague it was it was always so interesting seeing each youtuber finding a different solution to X puzzle also i think games are doing WAY to much handholding these days they offer the solutions up on a silverplate and theres zero fun in that a good example of this is call of duty black ops cold war the zombies easter eggs. i dare even to say its kinda ruining games and also doesnt teach the player to get any better at anything and then will develop the mindset of wanting any other game to be like this.
Idk though just my thoughts on it.
its spoiler-free, meaning that most of this wont be in the full game
We can all agree that he has never disappoint us with his content 💖💖💖
@YeaMan don’t listen to him it’s just a bot wanting people to go to his channel and hate on him so he can make more money
@YeaMan your balls will decompose
Didn't even realize they were making a part 2 of this game, nice kinda throwback to when Ryan played the first game all those years ago.
The name of the town is “Raven Brooks”
To me Hello Neighbor storyline is more confusing then “fnaf” and “Bendy and the ink machine” to me🤷🏾♂️
