About 40 years ago I would watch professional players video trying to glean some small tip to improve my golf game. After viewing Jack Nicklaus's vidio,he presented me with the most brilliant tip I could ever hope for, "If you play like me,you will play a better game of golf". I heard a tale about Nick Faldos cheapness, and I'm assured it's true - he was playing a round and his caddy's shoes started falling apart and the sole of the shoe was flapping as they walked the course - much to Sir Nick's annoyance, so they get to the 9th, which brought them right buy the pro-shop and Faldo pulls out this massive wad of cash, the caddies thinking - oh nice - he's gonna buy me a new pair of shoes at the shop - whereupon Faldo takes off the rubber band wrapped round the notes and hands that to the caddie saying "here - fix that f'in shoe" 😃😃😃
