    I've got a 2019 with 197,000 miles on it, no issues whatsoever, literally none. The CVT will go the distance if you do the maintenance, which in this case is every 30,000 mile do a fluid change with new filters (there's a screen and a standard filter). Gas mileage is amazing, averaging well over 40 all the time. I've travelled all over the country as well, it's not a bad travel car at all. Congrats on choosing well, look forward to updates on it as you pile on the miles!

      If you went 55 miles an hour down here in the south, you would be ran off the road. The speed limit is 70 miles an hour on the highway.😂😂😂😂

    • @extralock1045
      @extralock1045 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well, I been in the south, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. Even in the 80 speed Limit, people usually only went 70.
      Keep in mid, in your state, 70 MPH is the Limit, not the minimum. Usually there are signs posted saying the minimum. Usually the minimum is 45 MPH. A few 55 MPH minimums I've seen in New Mexico, and in Texas. But not much.
      Only thing is, that is for the right lane (slow lane). You can get a ticket going 70 MPH in the passing lane if other cars want to go faster, even if you are going the limit. @@coastallivingmississippi188

    • @extralock1045
      @extralock1045 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      But yeah, when you say it's a "70 MPH road", you're referring to the speed limit. The limit means you aren't allowed to go faster than 70.
      So theoretically if you go 71, you can get a speeding ticket (but that won't happen). Need to go much further over to get a ticket.
      And that's not the minimum speed. Most say the limit is the minimum, although at least legally, if you're in the slow lane, all you need to do is make sure you're above the minimum speed limit.
      Of coarse if you're in any lane but the far right, then that's a problem when going slow. @@coastallivingmississippi188

    Been thinking of grabbing one since it's the last year. Love that graphite gray. Have one reservation, I live in Florida and I have to take I-95 regularly. It's an absolute racetrack most of the time. I was curious how taking an on ramp is with your Mirage. Where I live you need to hit the end of an on ramp at 70 mph to merge in with traffic and most people are cruising at 80-90 mph. Do you think a Mirage can cope with speeds like that?

    • @PATuners
      @PATuners  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I can definitely get up to speed no issues. I drive mine at 80mph on the highway latest video at the end shows me doing it. Plus still getting 41mpg at those speeds. Also for peace of mind test drive one make sure to tell the dealer your concern and take it on the test drive on and off some ramps. I drive in Pittsburgh and Washington DC Baltimore regular basis also on I 95 does really good I’m super impressed with the mirage. I got videos now of adding Oem options now lol

      Doug is on point. I had a 2018 first owner and it was literally the worse car I have ever owned. I never felt so unsafe. If I test drove it any season other winter so I could really feel the car out, I would have bought anything but this.
      Wheels bearings going out at 30k miles, rear defogger going out at 60k miles, cvt was over heating after 40k mile fluid flushes, wind knocks the car around, little sound deadening, speakers are not great at all (the 20 year old work trucks at work have better speakers), engine sounds like an angry blender. I averaged 32-34 city and 38 highway. You're only getting more than that by driving like a semi with a full load. Highway merging is always scary since the car takes ages to get from 45 to 75. I can keep pace with a Mirage that is flooring it while I'm 35% throttle and my car makes 222whp stock. Hasn't the average for new cars over the last 10 years been been around 200? The Mirage makes 1/3... Crash safety videos from department of transportation has the Mirage rated at the lowest possible passing grade and I was pissed that they let them sell as is after watching that video. I went off the road a little in a snow storm. Went in and out of a ditch, bent a wheel, broke a headlight, had some bumper damage, and needed an alignment. My insurance adjuster asked me if I just wanted to total it because he has totaled Mirages with less damage and simular miles.
      MSRP was $15.4k at the time and dealer wouldn't move on price. I don't know how anyone was getting them cheaper, claiming $10k with 0 miles. That's 1/3 off. I owned it for almost 4 years and the wife said our baby will not be brought into this world while I owned that car. It got traded a month before he was born. Even if I had zero issues with my Mirage, I would never buy another one or take one for free. Sorry but a good, taken care of used car is better than a new/newer car that barely meets standards...

    • @palebeachbum

    It's getting harder and harder to find cars that you can actually maintain and repair. Though I just bought two of them, a 4Runner and an Outlander Sport. Mirage is another one. Feel like I'm future proofed with the two I bought. It's like getting 2008 designed cars from 2024 production runs. Hopefully if those cars last 15 years each, by that time car companies will either have figured out how to make the new cars work, or mechanics will have figured out how to repair them, or perhaps there will be some totally new system where it doesn't matter. Either way I bought 15 years of peace of mind.

    Attractive vehicle and smart choice! I'm curious, why didn't you pay a bit more for a new Corolla LE? I'm debating if I should also pay 19k for a new Mirage or pay 25k for a new Corolla LE. The Corolla has 169 hp so more than double the hp of the Mirage but it's also a 1000 pounds heavier. What do you think?

    • @PATuners
      @PATuners  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry TH-cam just showed me your comment today after 11days been some issues lately.
      Well I was genuinely interested in was the GR Corolla I’m more performance side of things. But I was considering possibly going with something with miles per gallon personally never cared but like to travel saving money in gas is nice. So I did look into the Corolla LE gets less mpg extra but still really good I found most averaging around 34 to 35 mpg. The 1000lb hurts that and kills off some power does have more options and more stuff to go wrong. Both cars are slow none going impressive you in those areas but the mirage did for me was gave me 90s car with some of today modern touches. The Corolla when I drove it I like it but had lot more modern car stuff that I’m not ready for yet in such basic daily commuter. That being said in 3 years I’ll be looking at the Toyota Corolla again both GR and LE and decide if I like one are both are something else. Mitsubishi mirage has an amazing reputation for reliability and Toyota Corolla the same. So your going be on your own on this decision both are good cars but I’ll let you with this 2 1/2 months 10,000 miles on my Mirage now from zero. That many miles so soon tells you I love my choice

      I bought one brand new in 2017 Mirage ES manual for $10,153.73 OTD. It's a great economy car. The dealership I bought mine from has one they bought back from a customer, & it has 414,000 miles on it & still going strong. A friend works on a fleet of them, & they have been amazing. Many have extremely high mileage on them. After 6+ years of ownership, I have had zero issues. I haven't even replaced a light bulb yet. I have done things like tires, wipers, and maintenance items. A very simple car to work on yourself. Don't hold their value? Mine was $9,299 brand new at the time. If I qualified for the 3 rebates it could have been as low as $7,799 brand new. I plan on driving mine for 15-20 years (daily driver). Saves wear & tear on my Subaru Forester, which I use for towing & extreme snow conditions. I owned 3 vehicles with less horsepower than a Mirage. If you can make 78 horsepower get you down the road, you need to learn how to drive. I have no problem passing anyone. Would I win a race, probably not, but I also get 40-50 mpg year round. If I could have bought a brand new Honda Fit for under $10,000 brand new I might have one. Oh yeah, cars like the Fit, Yaris, Spark, & whatever are all gone now! Find some other car to trash, because you're exposing your lack of wisdom maybe? I really like my Mirage. I will go 15+ years without having a single car payment thanks to it.
