    OK, I’ll admit that I thought that this was a Matrix, but now I think it’s the Condor 😅. Either way, it’s a fun dimple lock with a pin and slider combination 😃👍🔐

      @MarcHoekstra 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it's the Condor. They also have a similar lock with a moving element "M&C Move" with a blue sphere in the key.

    I'm fairly new to locksport, got my first pick set (Southord C1510) in September last year as something to do during lockdown (I was on the shielding list due to a lung disease). I picked a few locks then stopped for a while... Helping a neighbour gain entry to their property, non-destructively, and getting a bottle of gin for my efforts got me back into the hobby. I've only just started on the dimple locks, so far I've managed to open a Yale superior 9 pin and a Yale platinum 3 star 7 pin, both have sliders and sidebars (it took me a while but I got them open)...I've not gutted them yet. I do gut and even make keys for all the standard euro profiles I get.. but the thought of a gutting disaster with a high security dimple gives me the fear lol.
    Anyway, big thanks to you Lock Noob. Your channel and a few others have helped me immensely. Cheers.

    Hollow drivers is a space saving thing. The anti snap bar take up a big part of the space in the bible. So It allows for a long spring with many turns to compress more and give a soft key insert.

    If you like this and as you have already picked the Yale Superior/Milencio Magnum you should try the DAF Kilit.
    Quite similar but slightly better tolerances. FAB Dynamic is also similar difficult even if the sliders work a bit different.

    This SKG 3* lock is more like BSI 3* , tho , I think ratings are quite different. SKG's are more about physical security and resistance to violent attacks , so , this 3* rated lock should be able to withstand more than 5 minutes of drilling , trying to snap core , pull it out , etc , while BSI 3* adds to it antipicking features as well , but not sure which ones. As there are TS007:2012 and TS007:2014 + A1:2015. SKG in its leaflet associates their star rating with facade , which I guess are security handles , and they have also 2 and 3 stars facade elements , while in BSI , TS007 2* refers only security handles and escutsheons (hope I wrote it correctly) and not sure about revisions. Also , SKG for their ratings use toolsets labeled A , B and C , but leaflet doesn't says which these toolsets are. Some hardware (excluding cylinders) may not have 1* rating after 2009/2010.
    Currently , I'm in search for other rating institutions besides BSI in UK and SKG in Netherlands and want to compile document(s) on how do they compare and which are differences between them.

    Beautiful lock and pick! Hollow drivers allow for longer springs, like yours, though it seems like there's enough room already. Wouldn't an undercut be in the core, not the bible? You want the drivers to catch on the core...

    Would've thought that they wouldn't have made the anti-drill pin hollow like the rest of the pins.
    That's the first time I've seen hollow key pins, no doubt makes it much easier to over-set the pins.
    Were those driver pins bevelled at the bottom?

    • @LockNoob

    Hi there! I am completely new to the lockpicking community and looking for a good beginner lockpicking set to start with. I saw your video from a year ago but some of those links no longer work or their makers have had to stop production. Do you have an off-the-cuff suggestion for what I might want to buy? I’ve looked on Amazon but those vendors have no reviews and I am a bit suspicious about their lack of name recognition, and don’t want to get deterred by buying a crappy set of picks to start off with. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

      Even if the locks K’s don’t t work, the manufacturers (apart from mad Bob) are still around and still do great kits. It’s impossible to say what would work for you but my first real set was the SouthOrd c2010 and I really like it

    Hey LockNoob! I have a problem. I just bought a couple of locks, and Ive been trying to pick them. I used every tool, and all of them were used correctly. I am new to picking, so don't expect a lot from my skillset. If I put a tension wrench in the lock, and I put the pick in too, the pick will get stuck, and I won't be able to move it back, forth or up&down. It just gets stuck, and I can't do anything (I have lubricated it, and it's a new lock)

    • @FrankSassi
      @FrankSassi 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Where are you tensioning? Top or bottom of keyway? From the sound of it you're using bottom, so maybe try a smaller size tensioner or if possible use top as it gives much more room for the pick to maneuver.

    • @randommadness1021
      @randommadness1021 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agree with the above comment. Sounds like you are using the wrong tensioner. Only other explanation is your picks are too big.
