OF 1910 and 1920 (and the 1915 blend!) are solid whiskies that will always have a place on my bar. I didn't even realize 1910 was a double-barred expression until I was on my second bottle, and now I'm OBSESSED with finished whiskey in toasted barrels.
This has become one of my favorites. I have had the WRDO, Penelope Toasted, and JD#27 as well and they were all great but for the money this is the best value of any of the ones I have tried. I have a bottle of the Basil Hayden toasted I will try next. I would love to grab a Jefferson's twin oaked. It is great how some of the good things we enjoy and use come from mistakes or accidents. I have had OF86, 100, Statesman, 1910, 1920, and 1870 and enjoyed all of them. I agree that it is something that is enjoyed at the end of the day especially over a campfire. I like to use it to end the night on a high note.
My current favorite is the 1910. I have compared them all against one another and it’s hands down my favorite. The best part is there’s a place near me that sells it for $45 while everyone else has it priced at $60.
I just sampled this blind, and I guessed it was a $30 bottle. It is dry and tannic, and frankly not nearly as good as I remember. I recommend just buying OF100 and adding some toasted oak cubes. Same whiskey for half the price. Cheers!
One of my all-time favorites - heritage distillery, a price that won't break the bank, you never have to chase it, and it's delicious! I love this series of classics revisited!
Timely review. I bought this for the first time this year to make a 1915 blend. I was so surprised at how good it was. It’s probably my favorite double oaked product under $100.
Always have a bottle of 1910 on hand. It's one of the few for which I have a backup or two because it doesn't appear on the shelves here very often. Thanks for the review!
Unfortunately, in my region, here in Colorado, the bottle is $65. However, it is a bottle that's a mainstay in my bar collection. In fact, 1910 and Woodford, Double Oak are my 2 favorite bottles at the moment LOL. I am currently on the hunt for angels Envy triple oak 2024 release.
Thanks for the review! So i recently stepped outside of shopping at my military base for liquor/spirits up in wa here and man i forgot we have the highest alcohol tax. I bought some OGD-114 at a total wine for 30.99 and after tax it came to 40.98! So im def glad im able to get that OF 1910 for $45 even and essentially anything on base. Ive only had 2 things from Old Forrester that being the 1910 and the 1920 because thats the only things they have in stock.
Yup, those taxes can get ya. I shop at Fort Lewis when I am in the area and stop at Total Wine in Olympia for things just can't get where I live. I am down in SW WA coast so it is just a quick drive across the river to OR where prices are about the same as at the Class 6.
Recently got into your channel and i must admit ive binged watched a large majority of the videos on the channel. Great content, however id love to see you guys try the penelope line up.
I regard double barreled bourbon as a different category from regular bourbon. I'll go for it when the mood strikes me. This one is good for the price. Probably my favorite so far is Garrison Brothers Balmorhea, but it is a lot more expensive. It is also a lot more intense, and that might not always be what I want, so it is good that I also have Old Forester 1910 in my collection. Pricing is always an interesting consideration. I consider anything under $60 to be a value bottle if the quality is there, and Old Forester 1910 certainly qualifies. With Scotch being my first love in whisky, I consider it to be a reference when I determine the relative value of other spirits. I find that, with rare exceptions, I cannot find a bottle of single malt Scotch for less than $60 that has the qualities that I desire, and it is common for me to pay more than $100. Brandy and agave spirits also tend to be costly at the quality level that I desire, and it is very rare for me to pay less than $60 for a bottle. On the other hand, I have no trouble finding quality bourbon, rye, rum, and baijiu in the $30-$60 range. These categories of spirits can get expensive too, but it is nice that there are still bargains.
I will always have OF 1910 and 1920 on my shelf. They are both incredibly delicious, easily available and aren't crazy expensive. I've been drinking 1920 since close to the first time it was released (2016) and I'm pretty sure the price hasn't increased. Is that true for any other quality bourbon? Anyway... back to 1910. Love it!
I like 1910, but $60+ after tax in SC / GA is steep for what it is. I may pick up another eventually but finished a bottle a couple months ago and haven’t gone back for another one
@@stuffandwhiskeyI usually trend towards my tasting preferences and what I like after sampling. I live in Central Illinois and finally found a JD SBBP rye at 130.1. I like OF 1920, EC Barrel Proof and own various whiskeys at different proof points. BTW I like your content and enjoy your banter.
I can't imagine my shelf not having a 1910. Great show as always! Cheers!

Perfect bottle to take on a camping trip and sitting around a campfire with a bunch of friends.
That’s a solid call and a perfect setting for enjoying this one!
Agreed

Old Forester 1910, Elijah Craig Toasted, and Woodford Reserve Double Oak are all awesome! I keep a bottle of each on the shelf.

Thanks for the review!
Super cool! I’m waiting on my first bottle of this to arrive!
Bluenote Crossroads would make a great double blind with 1910. 1910 is always in the picture when comparing 100 proof or less bourbons.
There’s no premium on it, that’s why we love it lol

Not sure where you are in Colorado, but Total Wine in Centennial has Angels Envy triple oaked for about $61.
Thanks for the review!

One of my top 5 along with it's brother.
I'm actually picking up a bottle of this Thursday.
I just tried the Woodford double oak! Awesome taste and smooth!
1920 is the only product that I care to buy anymore from OF. Awesome video. 🥃
Can't wait for Woodford reserve toasted barrel coming 2024 🥃
1920 is my favorite sweet with a great finish
Recently got into your channel and i must admit ive binged watched a large majority of the videos on the channel. Great content, however id love to see you guys try the penelope line up.
Thanks so much for watching and for the kind words! We always forget about Penelope as we don’t see it in our local stores all that often.

I love the 1910. I’ve been getting it near me for $45. $15 cheaper than everyone else around me. Can’t beat that with a stick. Ha
Sounds good. I’ll get one next week.

I bought this one about a year ago because I'd loved everything else I've had from Old Forester and I was shocked that I kind of hated it.
That secondary barreling isn’t for everyone.
It's weird because I love Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel and Woodford Double Oaked. I might have to give 1910 another shot @@stuffandwhiskey
It is definitely worth the price to me. In a world of similar tasting bourbons , this tastes distinctly different than anything else.👍🥃
Easy decision for me because the store nearest me discounted it to $35
My local liquor store sells OF 1910 for $45.99 and OF 1920 for $48.99 every day price. I have 3 of each in case the price goes up. 🥃
That’s great pricing! $55 for 1910 here in Nashville.
WHISKEY CHEERS 😎
I prefer this over Woodford double oaked. Both are $45 in my market. Very good whiskey
That’s great pricing! $55 for 1910 and $60 for WRDO here in Nashville.
I prefer 1920 but I enjoy 1910, and I have both in my bar.
I like 1910, but $60+ after tax in SC / GA is steep for what it is. I may pick up another eventually but finished a bottle a couple months ago and haven’t gone back for another one
We do love you....
From Sweden ❤
Thanks so much for tuning in!
1920 is a really good pour. I have yet to try 1910, need to get on it. On a side note, any new time pieces Josh
No new pieces as of late, as whiskey and the channel soak up all the fun money currently, but I have been wearing my SRPE93 Seiko Turtle a ton lately!
Nice. I just picked up the Tissot Gentleman in blue dial…Stay Safe..Cheers
@@PEDMAN0216 that's a GREAT watch! Congrats!
Yes, it's worth 55 in san Antonio
I rarely correlate the price I’m willing to pay based on the proof of the bourbon. OF1910 is in my top 3.
Great comment! Do you have a strong proof preference, or are you just as happy with a good 90 proof pour as you are with a 120 proof pour?

I’d rather pay $50 for this than $150 for Blood Oath
In a blind I picked the 1910 the 1920 over the 1924 hum go figure
I dont know if i am broken or what but i do NOT like double oaked or toasted bourbons! They taste like a cheap old Popsicle stick! Just cant do it
That secondary barreling is definitely off-putting for some folks.
@@stuffandwhiskey I get this old cheap popsicle stick taste
I know most people love this but I can't stand it. Tastes like woody coffee and I of course I'm not a coffee person
