I have never seen anybody on utube do a turquoise repair. Let alone in real life. I heard whispers In The Turquoise community that some special people knew how to do this & Voila you're there showing us exactly how it's done. Now I'm a little afraid of power tools but I'm sure everything is a learning process. Unfortunately a lot of my old turquoise does have cracks. That's just the nature of the beast. Where do you get your small Tourqoise rocks to grind up to make the paste to fix it? Where can you buy the stuff you mixed the turquoise with? I'm sorry for all these elementary questions but I'm very excited that you can do this! I'm even more excited that you showed us how❤ thank you so much Colette ❤️😘🫶💯✨
Wow! Thank you, mama Chola for saying that… I appreciate it! I don’t know what whispers you’re talking about but I just am who I am. I’ve always been an artist and worked with my hands. Arthritis since my 30s makes it a bit more of a challenge at times. As far as what I use… the grinding wheel/rotary Dremel is something I had in my workshop to work on the antique mandolin restorations. I probably got that at Harbor freight I don’t remember really. What you’re looking for is a Dremel which you can find at Lowe’s with a box of a ton of attachments. The epoxy resin you can get on Amazon or probably at Lowe’s as well. make sure to get UV resistant. I think I got the attachment for the Velcro sandpaper on Amazon. I would advise getting sandpaper that is wet dry. This will allow you to use it on certain stones wet, and it won’t lose its grit. It just takes practice and patience. Don’t start out on a piece that you really feel an attachment too because you will have some failures. The donor turquoise I had in my box of stones as extra from a repair I had done on a strand. I love power tools, and I have a ton of them. I can thank my boys for teaching me how to use them years ago. “Have tools will travel” 😂
