Collette ❤️ What an amazing & educating video! I must be a dodo🦤 Because I didn't even know you could repair a crack like that on turquoise. Such good information 💯! Thank you 🙏 Happy Holiday to you & your entire family. May you have a blessed & happy one.❤
@@slempdesigns I really do appreciate you saving these pieces especially one that has been in the family. I often see turquoise in need of repair when out in the wild. Maybe I will pick one up next time and give it a whirl. I will ask my lapidary for some rough. Yup, I am feeling inspired. Thanks!
Hi.. Thank you for this video. I've cracked stones and not had the right products or know how to repair them. Would you mind talking about the name of the products you use? The grit of sandpaper what polishing head used in dremel? Etc. Thank you. Merry belated a Christmas and happy New Year.
@@jgciprianoxoj I use an apoxy resin that comes in a double syringe…you can find it on Amazon or Lowe’s. Any kind will work as long as it dries clear and is UV resistant. I avoid the fast drying kind because they dry toooo fast. I have a rotary dremel with a bunch of attachments but I had to go on Amazon and get the sandpaper discs. I use the Goh Dodd sanding discs hook n loop wet dry. It comes in a package of multiple different discs. I hope that helps!
@@jgciprianoxoj Oh I forgot to answer what grit I use… I start with 800 or 1000 and just work over the area of repair which isn’t hard with the small sanding attachment. Then I move up incrementally until it looks good and feels “finger smooth”. Then I use the cotton attachment with some ZAM to lightly polish it. Don’t stay in any area to long or you could burn the stone.
Ive never done this, thank you for sharing and teaching! Merry Xmas dear Colette!!
