Your Mom is the best! I would try all these dishes especially the boiled chicken. As a child growing up in Brooklyn, New York, my Father would boil a chicken once a week. I love the skin and the chicken is so tender. Happy New Year to you Pho and you wonderful family!

What a wonderful vlog, my favorite dish I think is the boiled chicken (as I prefer fish or fowl), and the soups dishes. Thank you for sharing a bit more of your world, your family. I am also from a family who are very close.....really enjoyed watching the children play with you. Your mom and her efforts are a joy to behold. I was in Hanoi for Tet for the first time this year. I was expecting a lot of things and events outside but it was ghost town for the first 3 days. All I did was visit family and eat eat eat. Everyone told me the vibe is not as good as previous year for the economy not doing well.

Everything you’ve shown looks scrumptious! 👍👍 Growing up here in north central US, our foods are much different, but in the last few years I have been fortunate enough to become friends with many people from Northern Thailand who have relocated here. On occasion they will get pork, beef and chicken from my farm, as well as some seasonal items like asparagus, tomatoes, sweet corn and apples. In return, I’m often invited to their cultural events, which are always overloaded with similar foods you have shown. I absolutely love it! ❤And yes, immediately, the standard greeting is, “have you eaten yet”? Thank you for sharing this (and making me hungry). 😊

It's the first time I come across Xoi Gac. I have drank Gac fruit juice before but I haven't seen Gac fruit flesh being steamed with sticky rice. Definitely unique. Wish I could taste it.

I never had the red rice dish when i was in Hanoi. Sounds interesting. I can't eat fish or seafood. So when i was helping prepare spring rolls, we added potatoes.
