Hi Tashan, Beautiful work, as always😍. I started the Musashi 1/700 Tamiya with Flyhawk full detail (gold edition) and I realized that it's too much for me, it takes a lot of time (one day just to make one turret with metal canons and everything with my old eyes😊) but your video motivates me and I will go back to it as soon as I finish this comment and I will use also Tamiya LP13, as the xf77 (Sasebo) is wrong, to my point of view, (almost a dark Panzer grey). I missed a lot of your videos because youtube didn't send me the notifications or perhaps I didn't see them, I will watch them this week-end. Aluminum foil is hard to work with, I did it on a plane and even the decals don't stick to it. Thank you for the video and wishing you the best👋🏻
Hi Yves, long time no see. I think it's really hard work to detail Tamiya's 1/700 Musashi with Flyhawk Gold Edition. I also made Tamiya's 1/700 Yamato with Flyhawk etching before, but I don't want to do it again. On the other hand, Fujimi's Musashi kit has excellent details, so the detailing work is less. I recently started uploading videos for the first time in a while, so I don't think I've missed much. I also struggle with presbyopia. I'm worried about how long the precision model will last.
@@tanakahobby I agree that Fujimi and even Aoshima are better in detail than Tamiya. Sorry to say but it makes me feel better to know that you also struggle with Flyhawk, (even their instructions are not really clear). About my vision, I had worries too, I went to get an eye exam yesterday and it's not as bad as I was afraid (I thought that I was slowly becoming blind), I'm astigmatic I will get my glasses in 2 weeks, then I can do 1/2000 photo-etch😊. For all these years I used cheap reading glasses getting stronger with the time (I'm 58 ), not adapted to each of my eyes. Presbyopia can apparently be corrected in many ways (glasses, surgery, ...), don't be like me, take care of your eyes, we want to see much more of your beautiful models. It's always a pleasure to talk with you👋🏻
The etching of Lion Roar is also too soft and difficult to handle. On the other hand, Tetra model etching has a firmness and is easy to handle, so I often use it recently. If you have a chance to obtain it, please use it. I'm 51 now and I use cheap reading glasses. After I turned 40, I started to lose my near vision. I think you need to get proper glasses. Let's take care of each other's eyes. However, I can't help but feel that model making is causing my eyesight to deteriorate. . .
@@tanakahobby Thank you Tashan, I'll keep Tetra etchings in mind. Next ship model will be battleship Kongo (Fujimi), I already have photo-etched (LX brand from Daiyee, China), their brass is pretty good and very inexpensive,(instructions are really bad) and when I order they are not really responsive, I have to contact them on social media, it looks like they not paying attention to orders, but I eventually received everything quickly after telling them... I just finished the USS hornet air carrier, but I still have to make the 29 planes.
The creation of carrier-based aircraft is the biggest bottleneck in aircraft carrier production. I also like aircraft carriers, but when I think about making carrier-based planes, I can't afford it.
I had never seen the technique of what appears to be Bare Metal Foil on the hull. Bravo Zulu!!!
One day I would like to build my own Yamato just like you did. Thanks for a great video!
