san was around 19/20 during debut and rookie days but i believe he's a late bloomer and had a growth spurt of sorts - even his voice changed - and him bulking up only added to his drastic change in appearance!

yes San was the lead vocalist in a band in middle school! A quote from a person who attended the same school as him: "He was a vocalist, he sings really well. He has a good ear for music (has a good sense of pitch) and he has a good sense of beat. Even when the other members of the band had a problem with the progression of the chord & beat shake, San would notice it and make it return to normal. They say San was the one who led the group when it came to talent." He was also called a "genius composer" pre-debut! Too bad that the only lyrics we've gotten from him so far are from the subunit song "IT's You" but he's said before that he wants to get back into songwriting so fingers crossed🤞It's crazy how multitalented he is, I have so much admiration for him
@ well he did just release an original song on ateez’s youtube channel called Snowflake, he wrote it together with hongjoong (hongjoong has started this series where he makes a solo song for each member, so far yunho and san has released a song each and they both contributed a lot to the writing and just general making of the songs), the lyrics are very pretty and his vocals are gorgeous so you can check that one out if you want! (but i also really hope san writes more for ateez’s actual songs, he’s crazy talented)
