All of florida keys are unique islands with different characteristics and own charm. Key Largo's diving spots, Islamorada's sport fishing, Marathon's family friendly atmosphere and Key West's vibrant culture and nightlife.

I'm glad that you acknowledged that Marathon is a city and not an island. The so-called "Marathon Key" is really Key Vaca. Or, on property surveys sometimes Cayo Vaccas.

What would you recommend for an older retired couple looking to spend time in the Keys in the winter? Where it's quiet and not crowded and noisy?

Big Pine Key, it's slightly less expensive, has grocery store, restaurants, RV, camping, motels, boat rides, snorkel, scuba. Bahia Honda Park is just to the north. I went to Key West, turned around and went back to Big Pine Key.

We used to stay on Marathon back when you could get there on commercial airlines. Sorry to see that connection go .

You have to laugh when non locals try to make a video about something they know nothing about.

You have to laugh when locals are too petty to realize their town or city wouldn't exist without tourist dollars stimulating their economy.

It's also creepy that people waste their time looking up tourist videos on their own hometown.

I think the best one is the Blue Hole picture!!! lol That pic is from the Blue Hole in Belize! Not Big Pine :)

Maybe they should jump into blue hole and see what they find in the old quarry. It looks like they just took random pictures from the net and tried to make a very inaccurate video

You covered a lot in a nine minute video. Liked the more detailed videos on Key West, now you need to do one on Marathon. But if you go down there and pronounce Bahia Honda and Islamorada like that, you are going to get a good laugh. Another common mispronunciation that will turn heads is 'conch'.

There's different sand, water conditions, some are more busy than others, some have more shark sightings and attacks, some are for young people looking to party, and others are more family friendly. When someone spends thousands of dollars on a vacation they want to see as much as possible.

This area of the world draws me so much I can't even begin to tell you. Rising sea levels will take the Keys within perhaps as little as 50 years. But we can enjoy this incredible place and feel very privileged to have seen it, experienced it.
