- CN sold 40 SD40s to Connell Finance (GE Alsthom) in 1997. They were re-manufactured by AMF Technotransport in Montreal in 1997 & 1998 to SD40-3s equipped with dynamic brakes and lead pacesetters.. They were lettered GEC Alsthom and numbered 6030 - 6079. They were subsequently leased back to CN and beginning in July 2003 most were lettered WC and re-numbered into the 6900 - 6949 series. The lease ended in April 2008.
They are seen mainly in Nova Scotia but also in British Columbia.
In the mid-1980s 5334, seen just past 12:00, was painted in a special color scheme for Expo 86 in Vancouver. I only saw it once, briefly, as it passed through Kingston, Ontario, and got a picture of it.
+smwca123 5334 was of course an SD40-2 and I hope to do a video on those later. Unfortunately I never saw it in the Expo 86 livery.
Originally built for CN? Or one of the many railroads they bought out?
They were all rebuilt from former CN Sd40s
So to replace the sd45s from wc
muito bom gostei.
+Luiz Carlos You are welcome.
