Loving this series of content for the channel, they don't make them like they used too!
This strong feel of warmth from Mrs DL....I bet she'll get one sooooon
This was a really really nice vehicle in my opinion
I just got a C30 and so far the only real issue I have with it is that I care about the paintwork, unlike my old car.
I’ve got the c30 D2 its my first car and I’m always pleased with I’m reluctant to get rid of it I’ve now had it for 4 years
1.6 diesel ?
@@apetreicristian9708yes 1.6 8V Peugeot derived engine
Great video, I’ve got a 2016 V40 2L diesel with 54000 miles on with full service history when should I be looking at getting timing belt changed
6' 2 1/2", 18 stone & I fit in the back quite easily. It's a great car mines a 1,6 petrol on 150K & never misses a beat (famous last words) bit heavy on petrol but it's a heavy solid & safe car. Build quality so good. I laughed & I laughed how did you make the boot sound like a cavern, it's pants, but that's the only thing that is. Love it. Oh btw if you could do a C70 2.5L petrol that would be grand.
I have a 2009 C30 T5. Perfect vehicle for me. I can get 2 mountain bikes inside with the back seats down. So much aftermarket support (similar to Ford Focus RS and Mazdaspeed3) to boost performance. 23 mpg - not that good. Paint faded being parked outside since new. At 98030 miles it's never been back to Volvo for maintenance or any repairs. I have done all the service - very easy. Definitely underrated!
Nice review, nearly got one after down sizing from my S80.
Premium tyres? Looked like Accelera which are cheap and nasty, binned these from my misses car as they were dangerous.
Volvo specs were all over the place, some Lux have elec seat some manual etc...
Another slight annoyance was the radio not being too upgradeable and playing.
Do they have DAB?
I have an 09 version (1st model) 2ltr diesel on the auto (R-design)80,000 miles..really good sound system and a lovely driving car..sometimes reverse doesn't engage but left foot on brake and a jab of the throttle seems to get it going..Big Up Volvo for building such a unique car..Love it..✌️
That's because you have a crap Peugeot engine, why would you buy a Volvo with a french engine🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
@jamie-hb8gy I did think the newer ones had french engines but not the older models..Oh well runs pretty good whatever country it comes from..Ciao
@@jamie-hb8gyHe has a 2 litre diesel so either d3 or 4 so Volvo 5 cylinder, not the hdi French engine
@@lorcanmcguinness963im not talking about the C30 in the video im talking to the guy im replying to which will be a peugeot engine being an 09 plate.
@@jamie-hb8gy Aye, but regardless of the plate year for the 2 litre is it not a de tuned 5 pot ?
The c30 is awesome just bought the wife a 2007 c30 2.0d 6 speed box full leather heated seats electric drivers has all the gadgets goes llike stink and she has just drove it 5hrs north to Scotland cruise control on 6 gears she said it was so easy and comfy. I own xc70 d5 , but I like her car gave 1400 quid for it full volvo history only work I've sorted it's clutch and dmf snd shocker and top mount
What about turn radius is it bad?
Totally agree great smaller car
Tho bias as was first car I bought myself from new
Had our c30 ever since rdesign 2.0D 08
Fits in now with larger fleet as family life has came along with our xc90 mk2 and v70 mk1
Volvo only released c30 as 2 door due to being owned by ford at time they won’t let them have 4 door version going up against focus
Also reason why early focus STs used Volvo T5 engine
Yea but V50 and S40 was also a thing 😊
The TF80-SC is a good auto transmission, but it does have a tendency to not know which gear its in and seems a little slow to react in comparison to newer vehicles. I guess its showing its age now.
Good gearbox? I seriously don't think so. Solenoid valves were going off on these transmissions and this resulted in damage to the hydro converter with absolutely no warning. It is said that it was changed within the warranty, but if you have a car with a small mileage, then this defect could have appeared long after the warranty and the repair is very expensive (unfortunately, this is my case).
You talk as if this is not a relative of the S40 and V50 range. Three cars on the same platform. It's the spiritual successor to the 480 in the way that the S40 was the spiritual successor to the 460. The 480 in turn was the spiritual successor to the P1800 ES. Volvo has a long history of making cars in this sector - just with gaps between each model.
But maybe I'm biased. I love my C30 T5 lol
And C70 of course
@@joelcarterramadge183 of course - how could I forget that the original C70 was based on the 850 platform, the 2nd generation C70 was based on the same P1 platform as the C30, S40 and V50!
they did it in d5 and battery version if you didn’t know
Its hard to find D3 version of it even tho not a fan of volvos anymore
Had a 2007 two litre petrol sport se, great car, only problems, heavy on the juice the seat bolsters splitting, two lots of Ford air con systems and suspension bushes. This was the last Ford / Volvo, thank goodness, my two V40s,and two XC60s are loads better .
The V40 was actually also based on the Ford Focus’ platform and shared some of the engines
SE Lux with no heated seats..... Volvos mad specs strike again :D
they moved the button on this, ignore that.
Back seats actually can fit an adult comfortably.
What do the letters mean , D2,D3
Diesel with 2 cylinders, Diesel with 3 cylinders. There is T4 and T5 as well. The more cylinders the more powerful engine basically.
D3 underrated?! I don't think so.. In Italy they want over 9000 euro for a used can with 200000km 😮
