Wish they had included the exchange between Tina and Dina where Dinah comments on how different she found Tina to be in person compared to her stage self. Tina said "My stage self is an act really" and went on to say that it was Ike who "nudged me out front" and how at the time she really wanted most to marry and be a wife and mother. Notice how no matter who Tina sang with she was always gracious and found a way to connect.
Tina became very independent in 1975. She started doing things without Ike. She went on tour by herself and also recorded solo songs/ albums. She also filmed a movie called Tommie in London.
Tina had been doing things without Ike since 1964. She released her first solo single in 1964 and started making solo appearances on TV shows that year. Her solo debut album was released in 1974. Later that year she filmed Tommy. I've never heard about her actually touring solo during those years but I know sometimes she did concerts without Ike if he was unable to make it. He put the band so well together and Tina was the star so the show could go on without him.

That's why I'm baffled about her claiming that Ike controlled her every move and she was unable to escape from him.
