Undoubtedly, Purbayan is one of the best Sitarist in today's generation, which is very much evident from his melody, clarity of tans, tonal quality of sitar and the creative vision of his recital.

@@Leynad778 also if you want to know where Purbayan sir is lacking than listen to ustad Vilayat khans shankara than you will find where Purbayan sir has work to do.
Also Purbayan sir when plays it with just one finger which he has done at many places instead of the whole palm thats where the whole sound gets compromised. He has much music going though his mind but that sweetness is lost. You will never find Vilayat khan playing any stroke without using his complete palm and the sound thus is something of the top notch quality. Takes away the listener with him to that musical heavens which of course very few can do. I am a fan of his(Purbayan sir) quick wit in music myself but I can see quantity over quality here. 🙏
