TAEMIN is the different level. THE KING of kings

One of my favorite his b-side songs. The performance is beautiful and sad at the same time as you said. I love it

Black rose is one of my favorites songs of his album and the perfomance for me is lit. one of his best ones... Taemin is theatrical in everything he does.

    Love Erin's interpretation of everything!
Some of Taemin's songs are so theatrical. For me, Black Rose doesn't have a high energy, like a lot of title songs we hear, instead it has a dark depth. It pulls you down below a disorderly surface and in to a rather melancholic undertone.
There are a good few, but one song in particular that made me feel almost hypnotised is Clockwork. Rise can also feel like more of an experience than a song, especially if you listen to it with some decent headphones!
Taemin is as much a storyteller as he is a singer & dancer! 🤍

Clockwork always gives me a strong deep feeling that I can never not close my eyes and just go with it. Love that song

Clockwork is one of my all time Taemin songs. He can make a song build with his voice unlike any other I’ve heard. Rise is similar in that way. And Soldier. God, I love Taemin. So much.

One of his best performances 😍 but there's a better version where you see his face and him focusing you with his eyes. I feel like you lose alot of energy being that far from his face 😅

Yes this is the still camera version and it misses a lot of the amazing performance. There is a face version that shows only the face, but the best is just the stage version where the camera moves closer and away of the face.

As a teenager, growing up as a member of SHINee, Taemin was known for his feminine look. It took him a long time to accept the fact that he was known for his looks and that everyone thought of him as a "pretty boy," etc. So, a lot of Taemin's songs are about the duality of life and the different sides of someone that makes up who they are, which is sort of the underlying theme of "Black Rose." Taemin spent a long time coming to terms with the different sides of his personality and, believe it or not, he had to work to overcome being an introvert.
Before debuting as a solo artist in 2014, Taemin was known for the fact that he hardly ever spoke during interviews and on programs with his SHINee members. He let everyone else do the talking and he was very quiet, shy and kept to himself. Which made a lot of people, who really didn't know him well, misunderstand him -- he felt like people saw him as timid and weak and they didn't see him as the strong, capable man that he was. He really struggled to overcome that stereotype and to change how people viewed him.
No one saw how much Taemin was struggling to change people's' perceptions more than the other members of SHINee. And, as one of Taemin's biggest champions, Jonghyun even wrote a song called "Pretty Boy" specifically for Taemin, after having a conversation with him about the fact that he hated that people couldn't see past his pretty appearance. "Pretty Boy" became part of Taemin's solo debut album and it features Kai from EXO -- who is Taemin's best friend, and is often thought of as Taemin's twin because of their similar personalities, dance styles, family background, career paths, etc, as well as the fact that they look a lot alike, especially when they were younger -- as the rapper in the song. If you haven't already, you should check out the comeback stage for "Pretty Boy" to see Taemin and Kai perform together,

"Black Rose" is a perfect example of how Taemin has now embraced what makes him unique and special, which has changed peoples' perspectives and reshaped the entire industry. The things that Taemin once struggled to accept and overcome, are now what people most respect about him, and they are finally recognizing him for who he really is.

Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. So glad to see Erin watching a Taemin solo. =0} Good stage. I like the song its catchy. Some of that choreo is too sexy though. 0.0 Dang. New Taemin bias here. Good fit and makeup as usual. He is such a performer. Loved the dance crew. He consistently uses both sexes as backup's. Just fab. Great vocals in this one too. Borahae. -NY USA 2019 Army 💜

Fun fact: The more you see from Taemin, and SM artists in general, you might even start to recognize Taemin's backup dancers. Because there are only a select few people that can keep up with him, and match his dance style and precision. So, when SM and Taemin find dancers that are exceptional, they hold on to them for as long as they can and they use them in almost everything. The dancers you see in Taemin's MVs are usually most of the same dancers he uses for his concerts and live performances. They are Taemin's dancers. And they are often also SM dancers, which means they are used as backup dancers in a lot of SM's other groups projects. Most of Taemin's dancers have also been Kai's dancers for his solo debut, as well as Super Junior's and TVXQ's dancers, for example.

When you check out "Pretty Boy," you should do a comparison between the video linked above and this one: th-cam.com/video/xL5imMkphe0/w-d-xo.html
I think it really showcases Taemin's change in attitude about his image.

I had to come tell you ladies that Taemin is back from the Military! He is rehearsing for a fan-meet and there is a video of him practicing the Black Rose choreo. He's put out a few Insta Lives since he's been back. He's very nervous (you can see it in the Lives) about coming back and he is dieting really hard to lose weight. Working out 3 times a day and nothing but salads. I hope you will watch his comeback video when it posts. 🥰

As much as I always enjoy the one take performances and especially dance practices I really dislike this one and think the "normal" one with cuts and camera movements is way better because it captures certain parts of the performance wayyy better and also Taemin's facial expressions. I also always have the feeling that the camera is way too much in the back and should be closer idk!? This really isn't my favorite performance video. Anyway thank you all so much for the reaction, I'm always looking forward to more Taemin and Shinee!
