"we want more people to buy EV, so here is a commerical featuring 3 hilariously wealthy funny people, to help us down play the stigma that you need to be wealthy as hell to afford an EV that will get you between cities."
Funny observation, but untrue. EVs are already approaching sticker price parody with ICE cars (and are already cheaper when looking for comparable performance). And don't forget the saving in fuel, maintenance, and the resale value, which makes them cheaper now over the life of the car.
@Ken Adams EV's have a better environmental footprint than other cars. "Mining of Battery Components, the short Lifespan of Batteries and the Costs of Disposal" is just a false meme, not true facts.
@@ryankozak99 What about the Inconvenience of recharging a battery and waiting to recharge? Most people just wanna drive normal cars. If people are so worried about the environment they have bigger problems than cars anyway. Look at all China's factories and all the shit they kick out constantly. Those do way more significant damage to the environment than anything.
@@kingslayer011 Depending on your situation, charging can be a time saver. If you can charge at home, you simply plug in in 10 seconds and walk away, then you always have a "full tank" (preferably 80%) the next morning. You never have to go to the gas station unless you are doing more than 300km that day. Experienced EV owners only charge to 50 or 80% on road trips and this only takes 15 or 20 minutes. Besides, time is money - electricity is cheaper and every minute "wasted" charging your battery is more than a minute at work in savings.
Funny thing is that EV's in Norway cost about the same as they do in most other countries, its just that ICE cars cost about double or more than in most other countries due to the taxes on ICE cars.
How many people realize that e-cars leave a more devastating carbon impact than real cars using gasoline? Or for that matter, that carbon emissions have no devastating impact on the environment at all?
What Will Ferrell doesn't tell you is how heavily subsidized EVs are in Norway by the government. And EVs are somewhat more practical in Norway because of all the hydropower they have.
Not true, really. They just removed things like green tax on them, which is kinda fair to do. And Norway is a really cold country with long roads between things, so it should be the worst country to have a EV in really, if you also listen to the haters of EV. As they claim short range and almost none in cold weather, turns out not really a problem with either.
Hydropower doesn't make a car more practical. It still does the same thing. Hydropower makes an electric 'cleaner'. Meanwhile Norway continues to sell all its nice oil and gas to other nations so it can afford to subsidise electric cars.
@@gs98999 USA can afford it easily, very wealthy country(biggest oil producer in the world). And the home of Tesla 😄 Weird comparing little old Norway of 5 million people to a global superpower.
@@Jack3md Norway has higher GDP per capita and higher average salaries. @@gs98999 It is always a matter of time...there are economies of scale and learning in developing EVs which will drive down prices in the near future and make them affordable for everyone, also in the US. At the same time, maintaining the "old" carbon inftarstructure will get more and more expensive. At some point petrol stations will gradually close in remote areas, because they don't produce enough revenue anymore. And concerning subsidies - taking an honest look at the amount of subsidies the petrol industry is still getting today - just shift 50% towards EVs and EV infrastructure and you are done...

After around 6 hours of driving the wrong way, and towards our south-west coast, he stopped and asked where he was, and realized his "little" mistake. 😁
8 hours of driving back again,, he finally reached the border.

Maybe if you hadn't botched the ev-1...
They didn't botch it, it was a great car. They only made it because California forced them to manufacture electric cars, which they lobbied the govt to remove, and then recalled and destroyed all their EV-1s. GM went out of their way to destroy the electronic car in the USA, they were suing CA just 4 weeks ago to raise emissions standards so they could pollute more.
@@ThwartedVillainy Bullshit like this is why I won’t support traditional car makers anymore, and if I remember correctly (from watching who killed the electric car) wasn’t Toyota also apart of the reason for the electric car movements demise?

@@ThwartedVillainy as if people driving electric cars is gonna change anything. Even if everyone in the US drove electric cars it still wouldn't make a difference because there are way more things causing pollution than just Americans' cars. Look at China and all their factories kicking out all those toxic fumes and polluting the shit out of the air you have to wear a mask there because of it (no I'm not talking about covid they were wearing masks there way before covid because the pollution is so bad) no one tells them to stop, instead they try to force regular people to drive electric cars that are way too expensive for many and inconvenient.

And that woman was his wife
“Hahaha that commercial cost more money than their whole Ev Software teams salaries for five years.”
Lol. Comment from somewhere else I had to share.
This reminds me when we visited Australia several years ago....
My partner is Norwegian and a natural blonde. We were at the checkout of a local store when the young lady cashier was looking at my partner's hair. I then commented: "Yes she's from Norway". Looking slightly bemused she then said: "Where is Norway?". I then replied: "Scandinavia"....This made her even more confused. I then said: "Arctic circle?"...."North Pole??"..."SANTA CLAUS???"....I finally got a long awaited response by her saying "Aahh yes, I've heard of him!!....IQ3.7
Yes..Norway DOES exist :)
There is almost no Cadillac sellers in Europe... Apparently GM doesn't know 2 things :
1 - We have already a lot of better car companies like Mercedes and BMW (and maybe the recent Citroen counts ?)
2 - Most of the cars sold in Norway are americans, yeah... it's from a small company called TESLA !
Funny commercial - best one out of the three. Love Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway beautiful countries...
You forgot Denmark ... I’ll let it slide this time
Thank you for excluding Denmark! Love, Sweden.

Best commercial of the Superbowl
What Will Ferrell doesn't tell you is how heavily subsidized EVs are in Norway by the government. And EVs are somewhat more practical in Norway because of all the hydropower they have.
That's fair, don't subsidize and fight trillion dollar wars for Oil. See if you can afford to maintain an ICE car.
The globe is still on his hand at the end, and then Tormund finds it in the Audi commercial 🤣🤣🤣
The fact that so many people got offended by this and took it seriously while Americans and Norwegians just laugh their asses off
Yeah it was pretty funny ngl
Humour as the last wall against despair.

I love the ad! That is the kind of competition we need between Europe and the US
This video was about Norway though, not Europe.
USA can’t afford it. Norway is a super rich country and its due to its oil industry, ironically that they can afford to subsidize the EVs.
@@gs98999 USA can afford it easily, very wealthy country(biggest oil producer in the world). And the home of Tesla 😄 Weird comparing little old Norway of 5 million people to a global superpower.
@@Jack3md Norway has higher GDP per capita and higher average salaries. I believe they also have something called an oil fund that is massive and this is partly why they can give huge incentives on evs. If you could buy an EV for half the cost of a gas comparable car in USA you would see similar ev to gas sales splits here too.
Cute how they expect us to believe they're driving EVs out in the middle of nowhere without a way to recharge them.

Norwegians only buy EVs because of the 100% tax on any other car. The promos always forget that tidbit. I live here and I returned to a diesel. Half the range in winter, virtually no heating and I hate the fucking charging.
