I'm impressed. You only managed to show the inside of the book only once and that takes some skill.

I didn't even realize this had been released until doing research on Junji Ito Collection. I want!

Junji Ito is an adorable human being. His stories are terrifying and seeing VIZ and Toonami push him is great.

I agree junji truly is one of the best horror creators ever I really love his work for what he does for his stories and how he is so good at making monsters that live a lasting impression on your mind sometime well some may argue that he may be the best but I think he deserves a spot among the best in my opinion

Hii! I'm from brazil,. and I buy the american version. I think Junji Ito is the best writer of horror mangas. Here in brazil have a awesome version of fragments of horror.

I stayed up reading Shiver last night and I must say---I felt goosebumps all over my body when I read the first 3 stories XD As someone who has not picked up Manga since high school, I don't know why I'm just discovering the horror genre for manga! I don't know why I'm just hearing about this author! I use to read manga but I got tired of reading the so many volumes especially when it's missing at the bookstore or library XD I am also a huge horror fan and I follow a lot of the fathers of horror directors. I'm someone who listens to scary stories on youtube to help me sleep at nightXD I love Junji's artwork and his stories got me hooked! I can't wait to get my hands on his other mangas. I even got my bf who has never ever read manga or got into anime---into Junji lto's work.

I think the cover looks different because it's a collection of different stories unlike Tomie, Gyo and Uzumaki. Shiver's cover reminds me of Fragments of Horror where they show different characters from each story 😄

Wow, I didn't know it got released in English. Well, at least, if they don't publish it in my country I'll still have this solution to get some Junji Ito.

I recently ordered the deluxe versions of Uzumaki, Gyo and Tomie. Is it worth adding this to the Junji Ito collection? Does it have any stories that are already in any of the other 3 books I mentioned?

I work at a bookstore in town and decided to get some more manga, partially for myself but also to be able to speak about more titles to customers. Berserk is pretty well my favorite "literary" series of all time, so I figured there's gotta be some other stuff I'd love. I heard about Uzumaki back in High School and when I saw Shiver on our shelves I picked it up the same day. At first I didn't really know what to think. The stories were cool, but I had nothing to really compare it to as far as horror manga goes. Berserk has a ton of horror woven into it but it ain't remotely the same. I got about halfway through the book, and kinda left it for a while. Then I picked up Ibitsu, and despite going through it all, I didn't enjoy it much. The horror was corny, the characters were generic as all hell, and it was just kinda awkward and a chore to read. I went back to finish Shiver last night, and finished the whole book while loving every single page of it. The art is incredibly well-made, the layout of the pages is thoughtful and evocative, and the stories make your skin crawl at times. For real, I didn't know I could clench my butt so hard until I flipped the page and saw that girl's brother squeezing his pimple-covered greasy mug's puss all over her face. God damn it, those stories are so creepy and memorable. Tomie was really good too. I'm super stoked to read more of his work and get more people into the books at work, already handsold quite a few copies of Shiver and will be suggesting over other works way more in the future.
