I have spoken to a crew man of the SU-152 in the 1980s , he said that most german tanks were stopped by firing HE rounds because the shock wave from a hit at medium ranges would killl the crew and the force of the shock wave could life the turret clean off of a Tiger , Panther and would almost obliterate a panzer iv or iii , records prove this fact.
152mm shell will kill a mbt today if you hit it directly thats why tigers were afraid of this vehicle

this is a very underrated game .. its like if warthunder & arma have a child, this is exactly it ...
its kinda like a simulator which means most people find it boring and others (like me) dont have enough of a computer to run it yet not even the harddisk space to download it.

What i miss in any tank based game, is a slower reload time when the tank is moving. Especially in rough terrain and when it's breaking or turning.
Yep agreed, at least some games started to implement dynamic reload times based on which rack in the tank is the round being taken from. Not sure if that is the case in TC but they're getting there :)
It could even put stress on the vehicle such as the wheels and suspension, while firing a big gun while on the move causing them to eventually break. Such as a SU-122 prototype that was equipped with the big russian 122mm D-2-5S gun.

Not sure how I feel about this unit as the reload time makes it a deal breaker for this TC. Love the firepower though.
They appear to have massively buffed it's armor to make up for the slow reload: given the ammo and crew layout of the SU152, each of those Tiger hits (assuming Pzgr 39) should have been fatal, albeit not as spectacular a kill as the 152mm round hitting the Tiger. This is a reality of all large caliber soviet armor as they used 2 piece ammunition. Now, in reality, could a practiced crew running on adrenaline reload from ready rack ammo faster than this? Most certainly, but so too could the trained and amped crew of any tank, so unfortunately games will always be stuck with selecting a uniform "average" reload time.
@@thepewplace1370 Normally the tiger shots would wipe out the tank crew. The guy just got really lucky.
su152 is mainly an assault spg and artillery, dedicated tank destroyers of soviets were su85 and su100, later of which is more than a match for any wehrmacht tank.
Wow! SU-152 (KV chassis) 10:37. How much lethal was ISU-152 w/ chassis by IS Tanks series (IS2 mostly). No surprise at all that Wehrmacht officers instructed to TIger and Panther crews to avoid encounters w/ISU-152 (a) The Beast
SU-152 and ISU-152 used the same gun, lethality was very similar. The ISU-152 had i believe extra 30mm thickness of frontal armour (from 60 to 90mm) but even that was no match for Tigers and Panthers unless it was a funny angle, which often did make the difference. Funny angles was what made taking T34s out such a frustrating thing for the Pz IVs and Stug IIIs too. If the tank was dead on, the penetration was almost guaranteed.

Do you play with Joystick, or mouse to aim the turret? Using joystick adds realism.

@@Geoweb35 Its up to you, but if you want a bit of challenge and some realism get, and install JOY2KEY, then configure, which takes seconds. The A.I. gunners cannot slew as fast as you can with mouse -- Advantage you. Also, some tanks have better turret traverse than others which using a mouse also exploits. Once you get used to the joystick action, the mouse seems "WarThunder-ish" -- as you're actually simulating feverishly working the turret hand wheels, and you hear it which adds to the immersion -- especially in the HEAT of battle.
i use joystick for flight games, in tank games i use keyboard or mouse
@@Geoweb35 For the 'TC' I use my throttle for forward and backwards. You get fine control over your speed, with the added benefit of not always having to mash keys; Rudder pedals for directional, and of course the joystick for turret control. When I fly in IL-2 I just disable Joy2Key.

@@Tamburello_1994 the joystick is still too arcadish. Im planning on creating some of those "wheels" that the gunner actually had to move, in order to control the turret/gun. Im not a welder myself, but Im planning on making some welder that I know (who creates flight sim hardware all by himself) to make this. I dont know if someone actually did it already and Im not sure if It will actually work, but seriously, we are in 2020 with nice graphics and all... Why we want a great sim if we still control the tank with fake joysticks/keyboard/muse?
Ok, some will say, "if you want realism, join the army". There are several reasons why that statement is dumb, I just wont join the army for this. I wish someday tank sims get some love and receive good and "ralistic" hardware from manufacturers. (sorry for the terrible english)

Yes, you have this tanks: T-34-76, KV-1s. M4A2 “Sherman”, SU-122, SU-152, PzKpfw III Ausf.M, PzKpfw IV Ausf.G, PzKpfw V Ausf.D "Panther". PzKpfw VI Ausf.H1 "Tiger" and Sd. Kfz. 184 "Ferdinand", use quick mission and select your favorite tank.

And do you know what should it sound like? Maybe its accurate but we expect something else due to hollywood or WoT? I have no idea what a ricochet of a 88round sounds like.

@@p_filippouz nah not really. The spot where thry arr firing at is the most armoured part on the vehicle. If you account for the angling and inlcine that they shooting at, it makes sense that those shots would bounce.

I hate that they instantly loses their paint scheme when destroyed.
When hit by a 152mm HE, the tanks would often explode and burn, eventually turning that black colour, but i agree, this should not be instant. I hate that all games use these "destroyed models"... One game that nailed it was Iron Front: Liberation 1944, if you did not set the tank on fire but took the tank out, it would look just like a normal tank until you hit it enough times to set it on fire. Which is by the way what tank crews in WWII were instructed to do.. Just keep hitting the tank until its on fire. That way you can be sure they're not just "playing dead".
