- Aloha! In this video I travel across the island to camp and explore some new grounds in Hawaii. I couldn't fight the current and end up getting sent down the coast and have to find my way back to camp. Nothing but good times!

Sometimes fish come right under your nose with every dive, without any effort. Sometimes you go all the way and can't find fish even in the most untouched place. Thanks for your efforts

Proof, even the legends don’t shoot stuff sometimes! In my experience tag lines 💯 sketch fish out. I always drop mine with a 1lb weight and dive near it or have a buddy hold it.

Just got back from the big island last week. What an amazing place. I did notice how frequent I could find vehicles and or vehicle parts just left in the wilderness. It was a little shocking. Aside from this I had no complaints about hawaii. What a spectacular piece of paradise. The people were great, the food was excellent and the beaches were hard to beat. I just don't understand why some people would go out of there way to dump 8 vehicle doors in the bush.....
3 miles of hunting and no fish, still you had a great adventure and learned how to navigation sea and land in one day!

The kona tourist spot you dove at seemed like it had a ton of fish due to having a lot of coral and reef. While some of the remote areas you dive at dont have much coral or reef development, which is why there arent as many fish as we would like. It is possible to take a fragment of coral and transplant it in an area where there isnt much coral to give it a head start on growth and being able to support more fish in an area.

@@hawaiihammahs Sorry to be so captain obvious. Was thinking the strong current could make it hard for reef / coral to latch onto rocks. Fish and reef constantly battle the current. Good idea might be make a breakwater or rock wall to block current and give reef/fish shelter. Or make some small fish ponds or tidepools on the inside section.

I fully recommend thr akona gear bag. Its super light and doesnt water log, rolla up, has clips. Comes in clutch when you dont know if you have a ripping current, and holds long fins. Makes it a lot easier to trek to a spot before you get in too. And has a dry pocket in front too. As always love the content

Build yourself a Banks Board for gear, bro. Fin & Forage has a decent breakdown of how to build one. Boogie board, bungies, mesh bag, and some back straps makes a world of difference on those long solo trips along the shores!

I think places get blasted like that cause we dont feed the water like the hawaiian used to and no more kapu on the certain species. When me and my kids go beach we bring one bag peas or some sweet potatoes or regular potatoes and palu the tide pools and around. I know its not traditional but I think it slowly brings back life to the herbivores and then the larger game fish eventually.

Get plenty centipedes that side. Easy to three prong um nighttime. I get one co-worker from another country told me get plenty meat. So, if you get whitewash and get really hungry maybe you could try that option. Let us know, OK?

An easier way to palu is to choose a landing spot, smash a wana' and back up in waiting. Cause you are going to witness a feeding frenzy. Select your shot and aim. If only small fish feeding on that one wana' with no big fish you looking for, just move on a little further where your selective fish is circleling and smash another wana. Wana has a strong smell that attracts fish. Smash only what is needed. You are sure to catch the fish you are aiming for in that area. I enjoy watching your free diving videos. Thank you.

You need to try this recipe how we cook uhu back in Saipan and Guam. It's just mayo mixed with a quarter of kimchi base and drown it all over the uhu wrapped in tin foil and throw it on the grill until cook 🤙🤙 promise you won't regret. Can throw in sliced onions or sausage as you guys would prefer but we don't do that. We keep it simple and still Cherry 🍒
