Barry quickly became one of my all time fav shows and this last season did not disappoint! Bill Hader’s acting is incredible but it’s his directing that really stands out and you can tell he put so much passion into each episode!
That story he told about Duffy telling him "that's too much acting", and then "There he is!" after it brought out a more aggressive performance sounds like the scene with Sally teaching the student
That was such a telling story and speaks volumes about the risks of creating stories and performances in an echo chamber. Makes me wonder how big name directors approach the issue.
I know exactly what Conan means, they really have painted themselves into a pretty dark corner. Like, the initial premise of the show of "assassin accidently sits in on an acting class and now wants to become a full-time actor" was just absurd comedy gold, but the actual ramifications of Barry's behaviour necessarily lead down an increasingly dark path to where we're at a point now where the show has become more and more depressing (but not bad). Very excited for the finale.
You're spot on. I feel the same way with Succession and Yellowstone. They aren't series that could hold up for 6-10 years because of how rapidly things went from light to dark. Succession feels right ending at 4 seasons, I think this fall will be the end of Yellowstone (not counting the prequels and spinoffs). Barry is/was the right amount of seasons as well.
@@Bamaboy813 It feels to me like 4-6 seasons is the sweet spot for a good TV show. Unless it's based on a pre-established series of books (looking at you, Game of Thrones) there's no need for it to go on longer. Part of what makes a story good is that it has an ending.

I binge watched both Succession and Barry over the past few weeks, to watch both finales in the same night, and I felt like both of their final seasons were their weakest, the main characters were no longer likeable, and you were both rooting for their downfall as well as their redemption, and even though I didn't like either finale, I didn't feel like they lived up to the hype that their shows and marketing built up, they both just kind of went out with a whimper instead of a bang, but, that being said, Barry did get somewhat of a more fitting ending, at least in terms of Barry's fate, there was only a handful of endings for him, and most of them weren't going to be happy, so I'm glad that at least one HBO show finally gets a somewhat satisfying ending.

I liked season 4 for the most part, but I really do think season 3's ending was so perfect that it should've ended there. The way Bill talks about it it sounds like writing it was pretty tough
I want Bill Hader to direct and write a dc film or series for James Gunns Universe. He needs to do a Plastic Man HBO series. Make it a Dark Comedy like Barry.
I don't think so he was pretty well developed in the show and his character went. through an arc and got a satisfying finally there would be no reason . And before you say no Better Call Saul is not the same as in breaking bad he was primarily comedic relief and not much else and didn't really get an ending so a spin off could work plus they could explore more of the characters of breaking bad. you can't do that with hank.
I love how Fuches has changed, but overall, Barry himself has shown sich growth and change yet still holds onto his true, darker identity. Love this fkng show, except the boring abraham lincoln episode, that mustve been a budget saver. Better bring us heat now Bill 😅

Barry is MASTERPIECE!
it was a masterpiece, until the last season haha
I demand more Bill Hader!
The ending of season 3 was the best and I even thought it was done. When I heard there was a season 4 I was skeptic but it was great as well.
I was today years old when I learned you could find the link to the podcast in the description and listen to it without having to download any apps ... When did I get this old 🤣
I launched the video but i had to go to the bathroom, let the computer play and i realized too late there were FREAKING SOILERS !!
It'd be funny if they worked in Mr. Cousineau jumping over a shark in some way.
Barry is simply one of the best shows ever. Please watch it.
This show ending broke my heart. Such a good serial. No ho hank, the raven, winkler, Barry…. They’re all great characters.
I hate what they did to barry in the end, horrible horrible😢
"I would kill for just one 'yes' man" LOLOLOL
Sounds like Duffy is his Matt Stone. Good to have someone to keep you grounded.
Very much looking forward to next weeks finale.
🤘🧙♂️🤘
Rich the Ancient Metal Beast
Barry is one of the top 10 shows I consider the best EVER written.
Good Show but not best ever but I guess on your list for best Ever, the last Season was rushed so he fast FWD to the Future because he wanted the Show to end 😩the ending was funny though
Bill Hader would make a great Mr. Fantastic.
Love BH, and love Barry. Conan can't help himself, turns all interviews about himself. Boring, lose me, but his guests are incredible, so I suffer through him. Try to ask a question less than 5 min. long. Long live Kevin King
Larry David was right, it shouldve ended with him in jail. The last season was awful
I get what Conan says about not want to binge a good show too fast. On the other hand, people who do like to or don't mind. This show is pretty binge-friendly. 30min an ep. 8 per season. Pretty easy to watch in bulk.
Barry was such a good show
I liked season 4 for the most part, but I really do think season 3's ending was so perfect that it should've ended there. The way Bill talks about it it sounds like writing it was pretty tough
You guys really need to get Larry David on the show.
i love his sense of humor
I've seen a million Conan bits on TH-cam and just realized I've never Liked one. So there you go, as a treat.
I need that episode of curb your enthusiasm
Can’t wait to see the finale tonight!
Bill and Conan, two sex icons on screen together.
OMG bill harder looks like he is about to explode. Conan as always turning into my grandma
I want Bill Hader to direct and write a dc film or series for James Gunns Universe. He needs to do a Plastic Man HBO series. Make it a Dark Comedy like Barry.
Mad its ending. Can we atleast get a NoHo Hank spin-off?!
I would be surprised if we do
I don't think so he was pretty well developed in the show and his character went. through an arc and got a satisfying finally there would be no reason .
And before you say no Better Call Saul is not the same as in breaking bad he was primarily comedic relief and not much else and didn't really get an ending so a spin off could work plus they could explore more of the characters of breaking bad.
you can't do that with hank.
I’ll just say. The last episode is named wow and I definitely said a lot more than wow by the end of the series finale
this explains why season 4 of Barry wasn’t as good as the other seasons. they were overthinking it.
Bill, that was such a slap in the face !
I love how Fuches has changed, but overall, Barry himself has shown sich growth and change yet still holds onto his true, darker identity. Love this fkng show, except the boring abraham lincoln episode, that mustve been a budget saver. Better bring us heat now Bill 😅
