I left the “man made Pentecostal movement” after almost 20 years. Best decision my family ever made besides our salvation.

If you will say that Pentecostalism is man made-you are saying that God’s promised of outpouring of His Spirit (Joel 2:28-29; Acts 5:32; Lluke 7:37) is also man made. I rather believe the God of the BIBLE instead of believing and trusting the man made doctrine of Cessationism which was invented by John Calvin.

Evangelical social circles can be extremely competitive to the point of being toxic. Although Pentecostal life can become what is called a “guilt culture,” however being Pentecostal carries with it much more of an “honor/shame culture” dynamic. That is, your reputation is everything. What you do doesn’t matter, it’s all about what others think or believe to be true of you.
Shame is quite an effective way of controlling people’s behavior and vicissitudes, until they decide to get off the merry-go-round and cut ties with toxic religiosity-at which point they are further labeled an apostate and effectively shunned.

I attended mostly independent fundamental Baptist churches, but the spiritual abuse was so bad I had to get out of there. I'm 63 and still suffering from the trauma there. Always was made to feel like I was on the outside looking in, kept at arms length, but never really accepted. It was very controlling and oppressive.

@rhondajackson7764 blessings to you sister Rhonda, I seen your comment and I know it was not a coincidence. I too was many years in a Pentecostal Church and as you I felt their doctrines wasn't right and that there was missing truth of scriptures by their teachings at one point I cried out to God yhwh with all my heart and pray that he would reveal his truth to me and lead me where to go that teach the truth of his word couple days later I was searching on AM radio for someone that might be teaching on scriptures which was led by God a Messianic also known as Hebrew Roots pastor was teaching and I listen to the teaching like I never heard before it was on the 12 tribes of Israel and how God made a everlasting covenant with them and how gentiles could be also grafted into this covenant with Israel as it says in Romans 11:17 and I knew that I knew this is the truth and that God answered my prayer then I continue to to research and study the Messianic Hebrew Roots to find this is how the original first century believers taught and practice what the Messiah and the apostles really taught to the first century assembly that is the same truth today if you would like to examine these teachings by first whole hearted praying that God will reveal these truths to you. You could go to on TH-cam to. truth unedited, unlearn the lies, 119 ministries, yahweh's restoration ministry, assembly of the called- out believers, A/Abraham-overcome Babylon. I know! I have thought the same thing! I’m so thankful to have found him. He teaches really clearly and explains the big words he uses! Some people use big theological words and don’t bother to explain the meanings. I’m going to go back thru this entire series before starting another one and take notes so I can write down some points to study. I’ve never been taught church history at all ( other than COG history which is a warped story of the truth). I never understood how all of it thru time has brought in different ideas manmade and unscriptural and has built on top of each other for several hundred years! That’s why false doctrine is so easily accepted. But I want to understand and be able to explain to friends when needed. I have a dear friend of about 15 years who cut me off a few months ago because of bad doctrine. She got involved with a former baptist church turning charismatic and who were having Greg Locke as a speaker. I begged her to not get into that stuff but instead she chose to cut me out of her life. I tried. I know how hard it was for me to break loose after over 20 years in hyper Pentecostalism. One of the greatest compliments I have ever gotten was a couple of years ago when I went to visit a COG to hear a singing group. I was sitting with the pastor’s daughter (he was my former pastor at another church) and she’s the music director. She noticed from the stage I wasn’t singing the songs. Later during the singing by the guest group she made the comment they needed to get some COG (or something similar) back in me. Wow! I’m thankful that the difference is noticeable to those I used to attend church with!

Same here! I was an atheist and then got saved, I thought, and went to a charismatic church for the first 18 months. Then the Lord pulled me out of it this summer. I was without church for two Sundays, prayed and thought, perhaps I’m exaggerating. But once I’ve found my current and new church, I was sure: this was His plan. I had so many questions, and wasn’t afraid to ask. About two weeks later I read in Romans and wept like a baby. I understood my sin and His grace for the first time. Nothing has been the same ever since. Christ alone. I don’t need signs and wonders-my biggest sign is the transformation He does to my heart every single day. Praise the Lord!

I thank God I was raised in the Pentecostal church. I thank God for the hellfire and brimstone preaching. I thank God for a born again experience. I thank God that I am redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus, saved, sanctified, and set apart. I thank God for His presence and for His glory. I thank God for a teaching that calls us out of darkness and encourages one to embrace a holy life, for without holiness (right standing with God) no man shall see Him, and I thank God for the ever living Word that has taught me how to live. Not the Pentecostal church, but the Word. And to that end, the Pentecostal church has been a powerful place that promotes and encourages one to get as close to Jesus as possible and not grieve the Holy Spirit thru a lose lifestyle. Thank God for the Pentecostal church. No regrets here.

I remember when my speech used to be like this. Although, I prayed, went church, and read my Bible, God revealed to me that I wasn't even applying the scriptures to my life. Can you imagine praying, tithing, going to church, speaking in tongues, worshipping, and not even know how to apply the scriptures to your life or defeat the enemy with God's Word? This is one of the greatest travesties- being destroyed due to lack of knowledge.

    • @gracebibletruthministries6889
      @gracebibletruthministries6889  ปีที่แล้ว +10

Hello Jane, First of all, a Pentecostal church has nothing to do with your salvation. So, to be thankful you were raised in a denominational church is irrelevant. Secondly, hell fire and brimstone preaching is not biblical. so to be thankful for something that isn’t biblical reveals the deception that is at work. However, I am thankful just as you are for salvation. (Which covers being sanctified, being holy, and living a righteous life. )
In my testimony, I made it clear. I was also raised in Pentecostalism and there is where God chose to save me. But we are not to follow man-made holiness, but biblical holiness. We are not to follow, man-made teachings, but biblical teachings. You mentioned a Pentecostal church was a powerful place that promotes and encourages one to get as close to Jesus as possible. Well, that is works salvation, which Pentecostalism teaches, which the Bible does not teach.
Thank you for your response, but keep this in mind: having no regrets with the Pentecostal church means you are satisfied with Pentecostalism. God wants you to be satisfied in Christ. Remember, when a person cannot see the problems or errors with Pentecostalism, two things are to be considered. If a person cannot see the error of Pentecostalism, either the Lord has not yet shown them, or Satan has deceived them. I will be praying for you, that God would truly show you the distinction.

No one can respond to Christ apart from prayer. Praying to God in repentance at the end of a sermon, or even during a sermon, is a response to the Gospel.
"Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God."
"Whosoever calleth upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
"Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."
According to you, those who preach without seminary training are operating in the flesh. But somehow, getting ordained and approved in the eyes of Man makes you qualified in God's eyes?
Peter preached on the day of Pentecost, didn't he? Was he a graduate of Seminary? No.
What about John, who you quoted saying, _you have no need of any man to teach you,_ then contradict him literally in the same breath.
You need to repent for contradicting the bible in virtually every breath.

I was raised in the Assembly of God and was without a doubt filled with the Holy Spirit with the gift of tongues and discernment (which is at work listening to you). I find it somewhat offensive that you are saying that my experience was not real. What I felt was wonderful and real. My life was permanently changed. I KNEW that I had been changed. I think you are wrong to get online and judge what other Christians believe and preach that don’t agree with you. So, all churches, preachers, Christians, etc are wrong and you are the only one that is right. The entire BIble is comprised of scriptures that have been handed down from the time of Moses to the present day, without seminaries and Bible schools. I feel that you are being more judgmental than you are making your case for the need of Seminary. We don’t go to school to accept/experience Christ. I’m sure you mean well, but don’t believe you should be online with your criticism of Pentecostalism. I think you are approaching a dangerous point of blasphemy. Good evidence of the Holy Spirit in Pentecostal churches is the music.

Read 1 Cor. 12:30. Everyone doesn't have the gift of tongues. It's a gift, just like the other gifts of spirit. And it was a gift of being able to interrupt or speak literal languages without having any prior knowledge of the language not a bunch of babbling. This gift was given so the gospel could be shared with all the Jewish people coming from around then world to celebrate Shavuot. The Holy Spirit is given to everyone believer, if your wife gave her life to Christ then she has the Holy Spirit. That's sad that they would base salvation on anything but Jesus Christ. Search the scripture for yourself with an open heart and mind, and of course with prayer . These things are clear just reading scripture on your own.

@@gracebibletruthministries6889 I have a grandson who has done the same thing as the poster above. He is in jail in AR where he lives under $150,000! I got into a disagreement thru messages with his wife yesterday about I think he needs to NOT be in a Pentecostal church or a very emotional Baptist church like I attend (I’m looking for something else) because he’s getting emotional and going to the altar but not being saved. He’s not being changed. I was trying to give her some examples of how some of this stuff is bad and spoke a little about William Branham. She ended up forwarding my message to her Pentecostal pastor who responded back to her and she copied it to me. He referred to WB as “his tiny movement.” It wasn’t tiny. I was trying to get her to understand how all of Pentecostalism will trace back and connect at some point. Her pastor said you can’t put them all in the same box. I say you can. I came out of the COG and have been involved with other Pentecostal denominations. For 30 years. I’ve been out for about 14 or so. There’s still stuff I’m trying to get out of my head! Anyway, I told her altar calls aren’t scriptural either. I just want my grandson to be really saved. Not shed a few tears and get up the same. Also, the only thing I would do over in my life would be to not raise my oldest kids in Pentecostalism or emotionalism in Baptist churches. I heard you on another video where you talked about emotions VS emotionalism and revivals VS revivalism. My oldest daughter has done the same thing as her son. Been to the altar probably 100 times. Been baptized quite a few. But never changed. I think she confused emotionalism with salvation. And I blame myself for all the services with no solid preaching of the word and just carrying on and saying “We really had church today. The preacher didn’t even get to preach!” That could go on for weeks at a time. Thanks for listening. I don’t know how to convince my grandson he needs a new church. Although it's been tough on my side but when I recall how many prickings and curious I could get over some stuff I used to see. My conscience was always bothered. I recall one day we were led into meditation the same as the yoga people could and we were told to chant some words. I was 17 at the moment and was very naive. Only for people behind me to start falling, shouting and crying uncontrollably. I was left perplexed. I've never recovered from that. After sitting down and researching I could find that thing is in the new age. After speaking against it I have been labelled a trouble maker and am misleading others. The church I was in previously was promoting the people behind the mess I used to see in highschool. I couldn't prolong my stay there. I left pentecostalism and the church for good. I thank God I never went to atheism. I got to hear the gospel and that's how I repented and believed in Christ. Now am secure

Thanks for this video Mike. As a new Christian I started going to a Pentecostal church. I started questioning what I saw happen in the church and then I started looking at scripture. Every time after having read scripture I would cringe at the lies or the misalignment the Pentecostal teaching had with the bible. I couldn’t stay there for long. It burned me to see it. I became critical in my heart but have since forgiven the preachers but I will not support it.

I went to the altar and they laid hands on me and spoke in tongues . Then they led me up to the baptistry , and like cattle running to the stall , they baptized me in Jesus name . I then faked speaking in tongues and went back to my seat . Meanwhile the music was loud and blaring .

I want to tell you something that that happened to me. When I was in the 6th grade, my family attended the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Pacific Beach, San Diego. I wanted very much to put God first in my life. There were 2 very weird things that happened to me and it was NOT of the Holy Spirit ( I didn't know it at the time). One Friday night we were having a small group prayer-meeting A girl who was only a few years older than me was walking around " prophesying " as though she was speaking as God' mouth piece, while the rest of us were kneeling at the alter. She was saying things to the group like " You will be going to be Russia as missionaries blah blah blah. The weird thing was there were candles set up on the pulpit as the church lights were turned down low. The candles were flickering. The girl said " The candles are flickering because my presence is here (Meaning the Holy Spirit) I was a bit frightened but didn't want to question God. The other weird thing that happened was at a Wednesday night Bible study, I started jumping up and down saying " There is a God, There is a God! You better believe it folks!" I don't like drama so this was very strange and embarrassing. I now attend churches with educated and Godly truth speaking pastors.

It's even worse in Africa Nigeria especially . Because most of the people are always looking for blessings they just believe anything they hear. If you question the ways of doing things you are seen as an enemy of the church. It's so common to have one man who is the founder of the ministry and then he is called the general overseer and everyone reveres him so much and then they start making him the centre of attraction. (Oh our papa said This, buy papas books don't buy any other books, They will say tomorrow is anointing service come with anointing oil we will pray and then use it to do this and that).. if there is one country where Pentecostalism has really eaten deep into the people and has 98% deceived it is Nigeria... They don't believe in salvation by Faith and not works they say you can lose it... one day I stood looking at now many pastors and reverend and bishops were in a conference I attended.. I'm 68 years old and i've been a PENTECOSTAL believer for almost 45 years now. And i can say that our Theology/ doctrines are all based on the Word of God. We're experiencing in our pentecostal churches what the disciples of Jesus have experienced in the Book of Acts. We still believe that the power and manifestations of the Holy Spirit is still in the true church today.
1 Corinthians 2:4,5.. "And my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of mankind, but on the power of God."
Therfore if the church where you belong does not believe and rejects the Gifts, Power, and manifestations of the Holy Spirit you're not in the True church of Jesus Christ.

Thanks michael for the comment. I was raised in the Pentecostal movement. And your right, there are many incorrect and bad teachings.
Many are not saved that profess to be. That is the reason so many remain in false teaching. Those who are genuinely saved, and are still in Pentecostalism, the reason is many of them don’t know they are being given false teaching and heresy. So in Gods time they do eventually come out. A believer can give himself wholly to what he believes is true. Especially if he was raised in it and has been indoctrinated with bad theology. It takes time, but true believes will eventually see the error and make every effort to correct it. The Holy Spirit leads men to Christ. He leads them to truth. But the Holy Spirit will never reveal truth to a person who’s heart is not prepared for it.
I hope that helps. May God bless you and make his face to shine upon you.

Thank you so much for making this video. I'v thought this and felt this i believe God has been slowly revealing the truth to me. Everything you said has been my experience with pentecostal and charismatic preachers, and you said it all in such a way ive never been able to articulate or describe in a way that made sense to others. My entire side of the family on my moms side has this deep seeded history of being in the church, and even though they left,
the damage that was caused is still felt to this day. I became a christian the summer of 2017, and i was pulled into false teaching from watching the christian channels on tv that my family still watches. I became a christian because i was convicted of sin from wacthing these channels, and I wanted God to change me, but as a new christian i fell hard for the prosperity gospel, because i just didnt know any better. I was starting to accept things that i didnt fully believe or understand, like i was being brainwashed into a cult. i went years wondering why i couldnt feel the holy spirit, and i didnt feel that strange spiritual ectasy that many of these people seemnd to have and thought something was wrong with me, and that if i only prayed hard enough, or study the word long enough everyday, then i might feel God like them.. i finally understand what the holy spirit is like now, the Spirit is not a feeling , he is there whether you feel him or not if your a christian. You hear a sort of whisper in your mind ,when you are convicted of something, and it cannot be explained. Whenever i questioned this i could never get an answer from people. Even though my family doesnt consider themselves pentecostal, they still are and dont realize it. i was angry at God, bitter because i felt uncared for that he did not show up the way other chrstians described it, but i DID get his attention and still do,. Hes been with me this whole time, Hes even guided me when i didnt realize , Gods spirit has been with me all along. Also when they act that way, they see that as "worship". You brought up the annointing word, and ive never really understood it. i just discovered the other day the truth about tithing, and would like to hear your interpretation of it. Thanks again so much, you truely are a blessing! Could you pray for me? I was in Pentecostalism for almost 30 years I’m 71 now and I live in Ocala Florida believe me there’s very few churches out there that preach God’s word anymore for every John MacArthur there’s thousands of false teachers. Even in the evangelical churches, and you know something I hate the word evangelical because it doesn’t mean what it used to mean. So it’s not just in Pentecostalism that there’s false teaching. I would just like to encourage you to be strong in the lord and the power of his might, and preach the only trust worthy word of God, and that is from scripture itself in expository preaching just like you said. God bless you my brother and God bless your wife. Tom Harrington ❤

My husband & I left a charismatic church as leaders after 12 year membership. It's affect upon our faith took away from simply trusting in the absolute sufficiency of Jesus work on our behalf.
The unintended consequence of seeking spiritual experiences, dreams, prophetic gifts and submission to "The Lord's anointed" produced fear and a subtle demotion of God's Word.
So grateful The Good Shepherd rescued us from these hireling/wolves that had no real interest in the wellbeing of his sheep.

Finally woke up to what this mess really is a few years ago. So much pain, trauma and claiming spirit filled by people, but treating you like garbage if they can’t control you. Lots of pain and I’m just done! Listen to pastor Andy Woods at Sugar Land Bible Church in Houston. He is a verse by verse expository Bible teacher and also a professor. He KNOWS the word. Has set me straight on so many things and although it’s been painful, it’s helped me to walk away from certain people and churches. Blessings.

This messaged blessed me. I too was raised Pentecostal and it did nothing to prepare me for the world. I succumbed to the new age movement which Jesus saved me from over 20 years later. For the past 4 years I have been shepherded at a bible chapel church with expository preaching and spirit filled worship. I agree with you when you say that Pentecostalism has only *some truth. It can be a great place to be when on fire for the Lord, but not a healthy place to be to grow and mature.

My friend, the UPCI does not legalise anything in the Church. Living a life of Holiness and Righteousness is our love for God. Jesus said if any men wants to follow him, a person MUST first of all DENY himself/herself. Again I can see the lack of the understanding of the word of God.

@gracebibletruthministries6889 So you believe in irresistible grace given to those predestined for the elect that were chosen before the foundation of the world?
That's how my PHD reformed Calvinist dear Pastor friend would describe doctrines of grace.

    • @gracebibletruthministries6889
      @gracebibletruthministries6889  ปีที่แล้ว

Well, the Bible doesn’t use the term irresistible grace, but effectual call. So I prefer to use that term. As far as predestined before the foundation of the world, yes! This is also clear in scripture.
So the meaning of the doctrines of grace are biblical. Reformed theology is just bible theology.

    • @augdea0427
      @augdea0427 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @gracebibletruthministries6889
I don't see the term effectual call in the bible either. If you're really interested in the truth regarding predestination destination/calvinism then look into the modern day teachings of Leighton Flowers.
Calvinistic teachings are not as clear in scripture as many espouse. Is it really the nature of God that we read about in the bible to hate from before the foundation of the world and fashion the greatest portion of mankind for eternal destruction before so he can be glorified in that?
I really hesitate to say that Calvinistsic teachings are a different gospel but I believe it's worth you taking a second look at.
I fell into this teaching when I left Pentecostalism because I thought those teaching me were so very biblically intelligent.
      Have a blessed night!

I was raised in a pentecostal church and, like you, I got saved and learned to study the Word INSPITE of the church, not because of it. I can't say I've learned anything from my church after sitting there for 30 years! I've never even heard a clear gospel message, only vague "you better get right with God or else" and fear mongering. I had to look for truth on my own. I want out but my husband doesn't want to church shop right now.

Very good testimony sir. A few months ago, I got saved again and baptized in a Pentecostal church. I did have good experiences being in the fellowship, but overtime I realized some things weren't adding up. While they didn't go to a lot of the extremes that you explained in your video, they did teach things that didn't exactly line up with scripture.
Like the second baptism of the Holy Spirit, and tongues being the initial evidence of it. In my own studies of the Bible, I've found no concrete basis for that to be what every believer should pursue. The basis for it from my pastor was that "It was the common denominator for what happened in Acts."
When I asked my pastor about the day of Pentecost, he said they spoke in tongues, like what we are taught to be tongues being that gibberish or glossolalia tongues, but the crowd just heard it as their own language. When he told me this, I couldn't help but feel he was trying to twist what was written in Acts 2 to fit his narrative.
Also the church I attended is apart of a mega church (with many churches around the world), and they make it a big deal to do more than tithe, as well as church attendance, to keep your salvation alive, and anything outside of their church would be viewed as 'living outside the will of God for your life.'
Reading and studying the Word for myself is, ultimately, what led me to want to leave. Pastor believed that 'this is the devil leading me astray', but I do not feel comfortable being apart of what feels like false teaching of the Word.

Many justify themselves and the movement as if there are no errors. It is so sad, but I am grateful that the Lord has allowed you to see these things. Continue in his word, and God will help you to help others. Time is short and Satan is deceiving so many people. But God is protecting his children all over the world. May the Lord keep you and strengthen you, and make his face to shine upon you.

I agree. This man does speak some truth but it is not truth about all what are considered Pentecostal churches. What is called Pentecostal covers a wide variety of doctrines and traditions. I have seen the type of churched this man speaks about and have the exact same feelings as he does. But there are Pentecostal churches with good sound exegesis teaching and without all that silly worship. He goes too far.
On the other side there are some very prominent false teachings out there that has permeated Pentecostals even tho some Pentecostal denominations have officially condemned them. These teachings are among the people of their churches. Just to name 2 of these teachings are the Prosperity Gospel and the teachings of NAR and New Age. To be fair these false teachings are not infiltating ONLY Pentecostals but also other non-Prentecostal or Evangelical churches as well. I have had to leave a Baptist church because of this.

Hi Mike. I was a Calvinist for 30 years. Listened to it. Believed it. Defended it. Discussed it. I was in Calvinist only churches. Then a few years ago, a nine Calvinist friend of mine urged me to study with people such as Leighton Flowers and Warren McGrew with regards to their belief of the errors of Calvinism. It took me hundreds of hours of teachings. It was a difficult thing for me to come away from Calvinism, but now I see how utterly wrong the whole TULIP system is. I had to come out of the church I had been in many years due to a preacher change. The new preacher was full on Calvinistic. I couldn’t stand it anymore. I’ve now come to a charismatic believing church, mainly because where I live in the UK the choice is limited. Most are Church of England with their relaxed views and woman preachers and will marry any two people. I sadly do see in this church much of the behaviour you describe. The service is not seen as good unless there is people shaking, or falling on the floor and even ‘holy laughter’. It’s all about collective emotion. It’s also lead many times by women, which I know isn’t right. So I’m considering leaving church altogether. Staying at home and watching pastors who I know and trust on TH-cam. I already read my bible and study every day. I don’t feel as though I need to join in collective emotion to know I have the Holy Spirit. If you do get time to answer me I would greatly appreciate it. My question to you too is are you now Calvinistic. The pastor who took over the church where I left two years ago, came out of a charismatic church and has swung right over to complete cessationism and Calvinism. I wish there was a none Calvinistic, none charismatic church near me but alas I don’t even know if they exist. Thanks

I am dealing w this now... so much ! Currently trying to write the letter to the pastor out of obedience to the truth of Gods word and commandment to walk in love towards him. I came to a meeting I called to discuss other scripture that relates to speaking in tongues (1corinthians 12,13,14 with a sincere heart, pen, paper, notes on scripture and a bible. He came already convinced I was a divisive, stumbling block to the church causing dissension ,confusion ,arguments, quarrel s. When I didn’t agree w him, he launched into”I rebuke you in the name of Jesus you spirit of division” my response was what are you doing (name) there is no spirit of division here. Much more transpired in the next hour including a unawareness of 1corinthians 12:30 . It seemed like he came to the meeting w a “spiritual” base All bat and began swinging my prayer is they receive the truth of missed or disregard of need for love, gentleness and kindness to be present when someone has valid questions and concerns about doctrines and they have dug into scripture. Pray he does not do this to a “ you g lamb” so to speak and does great harm. I was invited to stay only if I talk to no one about my scriptural studies on the subject and stop praying w individuals . He explained one more incident I’m out. I left voluntarily but have a huge burden for the pastoral staff

It takes a lot to put yourself out there for the criticism that was sure to follow. I completely agree that often the Biblical texts are not correctly interpreted. It has led to huge misunderstandings across the board. But this is true for numerous groups, not just Pentecostals. I could never leave the Pentecostal experience, as I have seen healings and miracles. I have seen the gifts of the Spirit work and while they are abused and misused, that does not mean that they should be abandoned. These are not salvation issues though, so we can agree to disagree. How would you know what was from the HOLY Spirit and what was from "another spirit"? You have seen the fraud, so how do you distinguish?
A broken clock is right twice a day, lol.😅
I'm genuinely asking because I'm a former occultist (psychic, medium and "healer" who employed "spirit guides" and have seen "miraculous" healings in that satanic religion). But, no one was raised from the dead at their funeral, no one crippled from birth got up and lept around. It was mostly subjective, mind over matter because they "believed" they were healed and of course, even demons have some powers for the unbelieving. Cheap counterfeits.
Prayer, I have found since I became a born again follower of Christ Jesus, is the most powerful tool and weapon of all! Bowing to HIS authority, petitioning His mercy and grace. Not the showmanship that seeks to glorify the "gifted". It's a real fine line.

What a similarity between Mike's testimony and mine. In 2005 I have studied early church history where I found out that my belief system didn't line up with the Scriptures. I did examine myself and found myself wanting. My renunciation of my wrong convictions did not come to me easy since it was connected with shame how naive and gullible I was. Bypassing how I should grow in Christ the normal way, my greed to achieve super spirituality in a record time led me to Pentecostals where I embraced errors rather than the correct interpretation of the truth. Sufficiency of the Scriptures is my stay now. Glory be to God for His interest in bringing illuminations to all of us who are wrong. George Sherry

Sometimes, moving is the best that could happen. My husband and I are moving to GA end of June. When I finally told my current pastor(I was told I “had” to get his permission/blessing”), he wasn’t happy. I told him I had been praying/fasting for several months. No doors had been opening here in North Phoenix, AZ. I’m in church, my husband isn’t. He figured my husband would pull me out of church and twist my mind. In his mind, he thinks it’s NOT the will of God. He’d rather our family be separated until my husband chooses to get in church. Heck, if that never happens, he’d rather our 5 yo son NOT have his father around to twist his mind. Cause there’d be plenty of “God fearing” men in his church that would be more than happy to be a “father” to him. Well, I guess God only speaks to the pastor and NOT the individual who’s seeking guidance. Yep. That’s what I’ve heard over the pulpit. God will speak to the pastor, and the pastor will then direct you, the individual, on what to do….😳🙄. He then said “well, I’m gonna pray God throws a wrench in your plans”….WOW! So much for the “man of God” being compassionate.

It is definitely true that none of us could be saved from the coming judgment without grace. Thankfully, God extended his grace by sending his Comforter in the form of the Holy Ghost so that we can be saved.

Growing up in the Pentecostal church, I began to notice things as a young Christian that didn’t line up, I brought it to leadership but they could not really give me a biblical answer. I don’t consider myself a Pentecostal anymore.
Many churches have done great work and have lead many to Christ, and our of a world of darkness but, so much is lacking.

We must not generalize the Pentecostalism, because not all Pentecostal believers are like that--that's why i disagree in what the man is saying on this video. Today Pentecostal believers are well verse in the Bible because they based their doctrines on the WORD OF GOD.
The man does not know what he's saying. Pentecostal and Charismatic believers like the Assemblies of God have many Bible Seminary, and they preach powerfully under the anointing of God and their theology is based on the Word of God.

You must go to the right bible schools to learn the Bible. Pentecostal bible schools are not the right schools. I know what I’m talking about because I was in Pentecostalism for 25 years before coming out. I have seen the best of them. I’ve seen the worst of them. Pentecostalism teaches a shallow view of God. a shallow view of worship, a shallow view of almost everything. It is vital a person knows Greek and Hebrew and has been trained in the scriptures correctly before attempting to preach.

@@gracebibletruthministries6889its sad that instead of admitting that your claim of 'no training' is wrong you switch to a different argument, viz 'it's the wrong kind of training'. This unfortunately is slander.
Some of us were raised in Pentecostal churches that rejected the excesses and errors that you believed in the church you were raised in on the strength of scripture. I reject reformed Calvinism on the same weight of scripture today

In pretence and in truth Christ is preached, it does sadden me, I would read Gods Word and it took church to take out all the good God put in, I’ve heard some dreadful things from the pulpit. So glad you’re addressing this it has damaged so many people and their lives. More demons in church today.

I think some Pentecostal churches focus in speaking in tongues but I do not see anyone doing discernment of spirit if the tongues are legit. 33:23 you are absolutely right

Thank you for sharing. It has been a bit rough since we left Pentecostalism and also being Apostolic. But, it's true what you said, the God that I heard preached about many times growing up isn't the God of the Bible. He is loving, kind, tenderhearted and forgiving. People however were not. The God they preached many times was one of punishment and God who took pleasure in disciplining his children. To me it seemed like an abusive relationship. I couldn't understand why people would say, "This hurts, but I know God loves me and he only wants to perfect me, or take the bad out of me." I would be like, " I don't know about that. I'm not okay with this." Now, I can truly say I love God more now, than I did before. 🙏

Unfortunately, many have left the craziness of the Charasmatic movement, only to be ensnared in the terrible errors of Calvinism. I have seen this many times.

With all due respect, Steve, if you understood Calvinism, you would know that it is not being ensnared at all. Hyper Calvinism yes, I understand that completely. But Calvinism itself when understood correctly, only demonstrates that it is biblical theology at its best

100% agreed. I have seen Pentecostal errors but have stayed in the Pentecostal movement and holding on to its ideals on the persuasion of scripture. You need to butcher scripture to reject Pentecostal ideals

Doctrine of Grace is what we need today. Faith alone in Christ Jesus is key today. Sight, sings, wonders, speaking in tongues, healing, raising sick etc are foe Jews. They are not for us gentiles. This penticoastal movement fails to study and understand dispensation periods. It should put them where they belong to ie right place for us today is Pauline gospel. Saved by faith and not by works, signs and wonders, healing, raising deaths, miracles etc. Thanks from Papua New Guinea.

Still gives me anxiety when I think of all the people that are brainwashed and taken advantage of by those animals.

    Question 🙋🏽‍♂️
What about the “speaking in tongues/languages” in the household of Cornelius?
    Or the “speaking in languages”
When Paul comes across those who were baptized by John, but not yet baptized by the Holy Spirit?

    • @gracebibletruthministries6889
      @gracebibletruthministries6889  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Good question Job, the answer is modern tongues is not the same as the biblical gift of tongues(languages). The distinction is, speaking in tongues today is gibberish(ecstatic speech). Acts 2, acts 10 and acts 19, is the biblical gift of tongues(languages). Which was an understandable, real, authentic language. The purpose of the gift of languages being repeated in Acts 10 and acts 19 is Acts 2 was for the Jews, acts 10 was for the gentiles, and acts 19 was for a group of twelve men who had not even heard there was a Holy Spirit.
Biblical tongues was a sign to the unbeliever, not the believer.
Modern tongues is not of God! It came about by man at the turn of the 20th century.
I recommend you watch my gift of languages 4 part series on my TH-cam channel. Thank you for your response.

@@gracebibletruthministries6889 I don’t know if I can handle anymore of this right now. I came across a series by Deanna jo(Responsible Faith). I watched like 20 videos in 3-4 days of testimonies of people from all walks of Pentecostal upbringing. It has opened my eyes to things that I’ve believed for 29 years(got in when I was 20). All because I googled “spiritual abuse”. The church I currently attend(I was out for 7 years, got back in 2 years ago)), does NOT believe in internet. However, I’ve never adhered to the pastors standard on that. Neither to the not having smart phone(I keep it in my car any time I’m around the church folks). This info right here, might be only 1 reason why he preaches against it. Pastor claims he’s against internet because of porn. Yeah, I think it’s information like this he’s preventing people from searching/studying. I’m now critiquing EVERYTHING that’s said over the pulpit now. I’m on information OVERLOAD now…😱😳🤷‍♀️

We want the Spirit to take over not only the services but also our lives. Not because of the feeling it brings, but because the Spirit reveals Jesus to us.
